March Cherry Says It Was An Artistic Tap
Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry took the stand yesterday and said he gave Nicollette Sheridan a tap to the head. She said he smacked her hard. He said it was artistic. She disagrees. Marc says the network bosses already told him he could kill off her character before the smack. Nicollette says it happened after she complained.
Here is my thing. Yesterday Marc also said it was really awkward after he hit Nicollette in the head. If it was just a tap and he introduced it as such, then I don't think it would have been awkward.

He's an idiot. Plain and simple. Even if it were an "artistic" slap, it was a stupid move.
I think he just buried himself. You don't put your hands on a co-worker or employee for any reason period.
He was flexing his power and wanted to humilate her. He could of just fired her and be done with it but he took it too far.
There are a few people I'd like to artistically tap but I don't because it is WRONG.

There are lots of slaps in old movies that are big plot points - for example, in "All About Eve.". Perhaps Marc Cherry confused fiction with reality.

OT - just read Bohomoth did a piece on the whole "is a certain celeb commenting on CDAN" wonder if we will hear from himmmmm after this.
for the life of me, I do not know why abc didn't settle with her. a few million to save face and not have this go public.

what cherry really meant to say is, "she is only a woman, and you know what contempt I have for them, so what does it matter?"
had it been, I don't know, a big guy, unlikely mr. cherry would have been giving any taps to the head.

Here's MY thing: You don't put your hands on an employee. Ever. Ever. Ever. Ever. Ever. He knew that. I don't care if it was a "tap" or a "punch", he had no right to touch her. Period.

What lawyer is telling him that "artistic slap" is an effective defense? Him saying that tells me that he's guilty.
As for himmm , I recall a posting (perhaps near the oscars) where himmmms comment suggested that he could be rdj. I suspect we have a handful of actors posting here.

1) who is Talley Griffith? Never heard of him(mmm?). :)
2) I prefer not to verbally speculate on Himmmm's identity. Never been sure of why people came to that conclusion (and if anyone who actually knows why wants to email and clue me in, please do). Other readers pointed to "that person" long before the instance that Bohomoth cites. It doesn't matter to me WHO it is, but he sure does add some juicy stuff to this site. As for Himmmm = Enty? They write in completely different styles, so I don't believe that. I like Himmmm, not only for tidbits (or bombs) he drops, but because he's obviously been through some rough patches, which he shares about, and he seems to have a good heart. The love he shows for his family makes me smile.
3) I worry a little about the buzz surrounding this. I have so much fun here, don't want anything to mess that up!
I never understood why himmmm was thought to be RDJ either but he whoever they are I think the info is real.

There was a blind about a male celebrity dressing up in vintage women's clothing, and people thought the answer to it was RDJ. Then in Himmmm's reveal of Hayden P, he mentioned that cross-dressing blind (how he actually buys the clothes for his wife, who is a collector, but he also happens to look good in the clothes), so everyone jumped on it. I'm not sure if people were speculating RDJ to be himmmm before that? But maybe.
My phone is messing with me today, so I think that comment went to the wrong place but whatever
Last year Himmmm said he went to the CMA's with a Nashville music executive of some sort, I meant to see if RDJ attended them.
I thought it could be RDJ, but felt silly thinking it, so I guess I wasn't the only one. I'm annoyed someone brought it up though because I'm afraid it will scare Himmmm away... Don't go please! :) oh and if you are RDJ, I love you. The end.
I agree with EmEyeKay. I enjoy reading himmmmm's posts. I don't need to know who it is. I think the buzz about who it may be has taken away from the horrific abuse that himmmmm brought to light. That is what people should be focusing on, not himmmmm's identity.
As for Marc Cherry, I hope he goes down in flames.
I believe it started with himmmm defending Mel Gibson and saying he had saved his life? I believe that's when everyone jumped on the RDJ bandwagon. Since then there have been several clues like mentioned above.

It doesn't sound like this hmmmm person revealed anything we didn't know. I think the info Himmmm imparts is so important, I don't wish to speculate about who he is. He obviously knows his stuff. Anyone who places his info ahead of their own need to get traffic wouldn't have said a word -- I'm not surprised some cheezy subsite jumped on the bandwagon.
Himmmm is also a long-time poster here and deserves any anonymity he wishes to have. I think we need to respect that. Only dumbshits like me post their real names on things. lol

Did I get my wires crossed? I think himmmmmm couldn't be RDJ because himmmmmm had told us in an early post that he'd survived some sort of life threatening illness (although addiction certainly could be that illness), but I'm thinking it was a brain tumor or something along those lines, not addiction.

Marc Cherry is an ugly misogynist. And, his defense tactic that she calls the hit a hard slap, a wallop and a hit, so she must be lying! 3 different descriptions! she's making it up!, is ridiculous. Those are synonyms for all intents and purposes. He hit her. He assaulted and battered her. When she complained, he had her fired. I hope she gets bucks from that lying tight wad creep. And, my favorite comment she made was when this happened: I don't know who in his life I represent, but it's clear he hated her. Well-said, and seems very, very true. A tap on the head is still pretty demeaning, even if it isn't the slap heard round the world it's made out to be. Marc Cherry is just trying to cover his ass. Why aren't the other housewives coming to her defense. Their show is over anyway.
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I would like to think that Robert Downey Jr. has better things to do with his time than read a gossip blog. ;-)
I do enjoy Himmmm's comments, but if another blogger has taken the time to do a 30+ page spread analysis of his commentary, I'd say we won't be hearing from dear old Himmmm for awhile.
