Lana Del Rey Reaches Into The Depths - Hooks Up With Axl Rose
I know Lana Del Rey is a Guns N' Roses fan. Look, we all used to be Guns N' Roses fans just like we all used to be Stone Temple Pilots fans. We are still fans of the way the music used to be. Lana Del Rey is living in the past but hooking up with the present and that is a scary thing. She has been a groupie for the past few months trying to see the band play wherever she can and practically throwing herself at Axl Rose when she got the chance. All that work paid off. That and I think it has been so long since Axl met anyone who actually has sold records that he wanted to relive his youth. The pair have hooked up and I for one do not see the attraction on her part. If you want faded star and old at least go for someone who does not think he is still 21 and a prick. Can you say that on Easter?

Enty, I was never an STP fan, but I'll admit to G&R love. Appetite was awesome, and so was Lies (am I the only one who liked that one?).

Sure, why not. Axl is a sad version of what he once was, except for the ego. That, I think is still the as big as ever. Don't know who this chick is, but she must be cray-cray.
I thought Axl was gross twenty-some years ago, and I think he's even more so now.

Perhaps your definition of a has been is different than mine, but in my opinion, a has been is not someone that walked away from music business for 15+ years, but instead is someone who continued to make music but noone was interested. Axl dissappeared from the spotlight when GNR were THE BIGGEST band in the world, and in those 15+ years he only did 2-4 interviews, didn't make any videos, didn't do shit. And in those 15 years there were gazillion articles written about him, in fact even Jon bon jovi complained that this ass gets all the press even though he didn't publish any new music in 15 years. So how is he a has been? Know of any recent star that could disappear for 15 years and still be as much talked about as Axl (granted, the whole Axl Rose histeria was at its peak from 1999 till 2005, not as much now)? In future please both of your brain cells in parallel. Had Bono done in 1995 what Axl has done, he wouldn't get 10 percent of the media coverage Axl got during that period, so please, recharge them two brain cells and try using them both at once. Name me one musician that could aford to go away for so long and still be the biggest star in the world

I like old GnR music, but I have read way too many nasty things about Axl Rose and his treatment of women and people in general to be a fan or to think that any woman should date him.
Lana Del Rey kind of looks like Phoebe Price to me. That is all I really know or can say about her.
everytime i see or hear her name i start to think of that stupid song 'video games' and how she tries to project some sort of sad, tragic, old-school hollywood vibe, its quite contrived...she used to be known as something else. they totally 'revamped' her image to what they think could sell fortunately nobody gripped at it, and the whole 'indie-hipster' scene is fading...like guns n roses i suppose. but i guess its hip to be square...

I agree, on all points related to Axl, that is.. I dislike the term 'has-been'. At least you WERE at some point. It's odd that Axle gets called a 'has-been' by people who haven't experienced an ounce of his past glory.
What cracks me up is comments such as
"I still listen to this today." If it was good then, chances are it's still good today, and I didn't realize that music has a shelf-life or expiration date. I know Led Zep was a long time ago, but talent is talent and some music is not disposable, as it were. The passage of time has not diminished the force of "Mr. Brownstone" or Paradise City" or the haunting "November Rain."

BTW, the photo says a lot: he looks really eff'd up, and she looks like she is enduring this photo op for publicity. I'm sure this is staged for some bucks (for him) and publicity (for her), and is nothing else. Not getting a love vibe like I did with the very gross and inexplicable Marilyn Manson/Evan Rachel Wood coupling.
If I became famous, I'd probably go back and do my teen crush, just to please my 14 year old self. So I can't blame her (if she really did it).
I believe in the Webster's definition of "has-been" it actually says "gets in fistfight with Tommy Hilfiger". So in that case, Axl is spot on.
