Amy Winehouse's Former Boyfriend Charged With Rape
When Amy Winehouse died last year. I have to stop right there. On Monday it will be one year since she died. That was a very fast year, but at the same time it seems so long ago since everyone was listening to all her old records again and realizing just how good she was and could have been if not for the drugs. Anyway, at the time of her death she was dating Reg Traviss, who is a movie director. The pair had been dating for about a year and Reg said they were going to get married. Oh, speaking of married, how is it that Blake Fiedler-Civil, her ex-husband is still alive. I would have thought he would have died by now. Same with Pete Doherty. There was a time there where Amy was really drugging it up and Pete and Kate Moss were dating and everyone in London seemed like they were thisclose to dying. Only Amy has though.

Rape is a horrific crime and I do not want to sound like a victim basher but why wait three months to file charges? Any evidence, or at least the strongest evidence, is long gone. Unless there are multiple victims or eye witnesses a la Sandusky, it's gotta be pretty damn hard to prosecute. That said, dammit I miss Amy Winehouse. Girl had some wicked talent.
Here's what I don't miss: seeing pap photos of her on a weekly basis, looking worse and worse, and wondering when she would die.

It's unfair that Blake got Amy on hard drugs, she dies and he's still alive.
Same, I can't even say any more than that.
Trauma and an unwillingness to face her accuser again in court will make a woman wait three months. Having to tell her story, which is probably humiliating, over and over again, to strangers will make a woman wait three months. Exhaustion and working to get her life back and a sense of normalcy will make a woman wait three months.
Well if he's innocent I hope he's cleared, if he's guilty I hope they throw the book at him.
Hopefully Blake and Pete have cleaned up....doubt it.

May be the oddest opening sentences I have ever read.
God won't let Blake die, he will live a long life and have to look at himself in the mirror every day knowing what he took from this world. He's nobody, with nothing to offer, and don't think he doesn't know it. Amy was a shining light that he dimmed too soon, and he will live with that.
