@msgirl, YEP! I'm sure now that Rose McGowan is the one who has a pap who take a pic of her everyday in exchange for sex once a week. Too funny.
And I'm also pretty sure Uma was the blind about someone surprised to be pregnant, and worried because she hadn't known she was and partied her ass off the first couple months of the pregnancy.
Olivia is growing on me. Her character in newsroom is good & she plays it well. Newsroom is also my absolute obsession & I can't talk enough about how AMAZEBALLS it is, so maybe I'm biased.

I was blown away by the first episode of the Newsroom and now its losing me but I am sticking with it since it has already been renewed for a 2nd season.

Amber, it's a really bad idea to keep babies inside the house all of the time. They need to be out and exposed to other people and their germs in order to build up their immune systems. If you don't do that, be prepared to have a really sickly toddler on your hands.
Dislike Olivia Munn and, as a former newspaper reporter, HATE The Newsroom. It takes much of what is awful about modern news and presents it like that's what shows should aspire to be. Terrible.
Except for the puppy incident, Suri has looked a lot more relaxed with her mom.
Funny how Suri who is 6 needs to be carried all the time, and Harper who is 1 wants to walk by herself, without a blanket, binky, and toys. Interesting.

Olivia Munn has the same crazed look in her eyes as my fb "friend" who loves to post pics of herself showing off her store bought rack.
As far as the Uma baby goes, I also think it's all about hand washing. My youngest was in NICU for four weeks, and the only precaution we had to take before going into the unit was 2 min (I think) of surgery-style hand washing. (After he got out, we couldn't take him in public for six months, but that was due to his particular condition. That was crazy-hard to pull off.)
Kids can go out in public after being born. Jeez. I don't know why people are so judgemental!

@ Ashlea - I was simply asking for clarification based on what I'd heard. Not having become a mother myself, I don't have first-hand knowledge of these sorts of things. There are a lot of mothers and soon-to-be moms that post here, therefore I knew I'd get an answer.

I wish there was a way to keep Tom Cruise from ever having contact with Suri. She actually has a chance, like his other kids never did.
I had my 3 day old son out at a hockey arena (my husband was the coach) and some woman indignantly asked me "How OLD is that baby?" Three days, I answered. She looked like she was going to faint. My now 16 year old just signed his first junior hockey contract, so I guess the early start helped.
The next Mrs Cruise looks like a Latin Anne Hathaway.

I saw the film clips today when Tom picked up Suri and was clutching her tightly through all the paps. It looked so phony to me as if he "rushed to be with Suri" or something. He seriously couldn't have arranged to pick her up somewhere privately? It just came across so fake to me like he was filming a movie scene.
I like Olivia Munn too. She's funny.
I took my son to the county fair at 5 days old. What's the big deal? Just don't let people touch them.

I'm not a Tom supporter or anything but let's remember that at the end of the day, he is her daddy and when I was a little girl, it was my dad that made me feel safest. And yes, Harper is walking but they aren't exactly out in public, are they? Note Posh's name everywhere.
I know everyone rags on Beyonce but not for a second do I think Posh was pregnant with Harper. I also find it very suspicious that she finally had a girl.
I will be at the new Will Ferrell movie on opening night. Started seeing the ads on tv last night.
Like Texshan, my newsroom roots have me giving a side eye to Aaron Sorkin when me and The Hubs watch Newsroom. So much of it seems not believable to me. And Aaron Sorkin is SO GOD DAMN PREACHY, I just can't take it when I watch his programs sometimes. I'm only two epis in, so I have some catching up to do. Olivia Munn has been pretty good in it so far. And I think Jeff Daniels is good. The British chick gets on my nerves. I was reading that Marissa Tomei was supposed to be the female lead but negotiations fell through. Hopefully the show won't become insanely over-the-top unbelievable (I'm looking at you, Boardwalk Empire.)
Forgot to add - I didn't know there were all these rules and regulations to toting a newborn around. Personally, I would be a bit nervy about the extreme heat (Is Uma in NYC?) Plus, I had a c-section, so bitch wasn't going anywhere after the baby came out. But, getting out and about is good for your soul, IMO. Shit, I still go stir-crazy now, and my baby is 20 months. Not a baby anymore, sigh.

I pictured that scenario as being someone who was desperately trying to secure their future after losing their popularity here, and I can't imagine with the success of Desperate Housewives that Teri Hatcher would have to do something so disgusting and then plan to pimp out her daughter. I hope that's not true :/
I get sucked into all those premium channel shows (Dexter, Homeland, Shameless etc) and I am enjoying Newsroom. However, it seems like it would be more of a network show based on the cheese factor alone. And it's so funny how we all have different tastes: The English executive producer on the show is my favorite character, and my 2 least favorites are Olivia Munn and also the jittery blonde assistant. One underacts, and the other overacts. Weird dynamic

Word, Susan. I get really annoyed when I see things on TV or in movies purportedly about reporters, PR people, or doctors/hospitals, because I've actually WORKED in those industries/occupations, and it super-irritates me when I see characters do something completely ridiculous. And yes, Sorkin is Preachy McPreacherson. I can't stand him.
Amber, full disclosure -- I am not a mom. But I've worked in health care communications for 12 years, the last five in public health. Babies need germs, just like little kids need to play in the dirt and be around other germy kids to be healthy. Otherwise they'll be highly susceptible to all kinds of illnesses, because their immune system won't have a chance to create antibodies to fight illnesses.

Quite a few years ago, I worked at a truckstop coffee shop. Some of the teens who would frequent the restaurant would come in to drink coffe for an hour or two on their way home from the hospital after giving birth! That was also when smoking was still allowed in restaurants.
Two days and out - no problem to me at all, but any consideration to the fact she may have been in 2 days and this is a stop off on the way home? My friend just had a bubba and she stopped off at Asda for some long awaited cream cheese!
Poor Suri - regardless of TC's intention, this looks to me like a scared little girl clutching onto her daddy for comfort. Imagine how many paps were around trying to get the best picture. I agree that Katie being papped is a good way to ensure her continuing safety, but I really could do without the constant pictures of that poor little rich girl. She's going to grow up very odd, at best. I still think actual, enforceable laws should be put in place to protect the kids of celebs, especially if they are minors.
That being said - Harper is too adorable. My mind is calling this a twit pic VB put up, so I dont feel too bad about seeing it :p

Tom isn't the only one using Suri for his image. Katie has had her out on a daily Mommy and Me outing every day for 2 weeks---showing everyone how much happier they are now that mean ol Daddy and his scary helpers are gone.
On the other hand, I think the paps are probably the best thing that could happen to Suri--no chance of her disappearing while she's out on visitation --they are going to be watching every where she goes for a while.
What's with the clingy Suri? She was not that way with Katie and was doing so well in the past few weeks (LOL, how in the hell would I really know this from a few pics?). Maybe there are more paps around him?
99% of the time - unless the celebrity is A+++++ List, the reason they are papped is because they go where they know the paps are, or they call them in advance. Okay, fine, but don't pretend you are bothered by it, okay D-List celebrity?

I have a 20-month-old. I also have a 7-year-old and a 5-year-old, which means that OF COURSE 20-month-old went out and about in his very early days, because I defy anyone to sit around at home all day with a 3-year-old, 5-year-old, and a newborn and NOT want to put a bullet through their own head. Corollary to that: because of 20-month-old's existence, 5-year-old and 7-year old freaking WALK when we go somewhere, so I don't know WTF's up with Suri. Girlfriend needs to be on her own feet.

I love that Uma is up and about! I always was. My ex-husband's fiancé keeps using the birth of their first child (a month and a half ago) as an excuse to make me do all the running back and forth. "I just CAN'T drive that far yet" (15 minutes). As if she were the first person to deliver a child. She had a caesarean, my two children were vaginal births, and the first really about killed me. I still did my regular errands the first week. God knows no one indulged me.
Ugh sorry for the bitter sounding above comment. I've been driving my kids back and forth to see their new brother, and I feel taken advantage of.
