This guy has really not given up pretending he is straight for the cameras. He is an actor. He was B list mostly television when his hit show for an almost network was on the air. Now though, he is probably a C lister. Everyone has told him to come out. It is not a secret with his family or friends, so it is only him who is continuing the charade. He hangs out with a woman he calls his girlfriend, but she is really seeing one of his other friends he brings around and another of those friends is his boyfriend. In public though, it is all smiles for the happy male/female "couple."

Penn is landing good movie roles and I think he's str8. Chace isn't doing much of anything besides vacationing.

There are, unfortunately, a great deal of fans/media who DO care about an actor's sexuality. It's OK to rape a teen (hi, Roman Polanski!) or use the casting couch, but you better not be openly gay if you want a serious movie career (bye, Jodie Foster - who supports Roman Poskanski).
Chace Crawford. Not Wentworth Miller--he's out and proud--although I would love the chance to switch his team.
The entertainment industry no longer cares if an actor is gay or straight. People on gossip sites care and fuel mostly false speculation.
I met Jake Gyllenhaal on "Prisoners" set when I was an extra because he was throwing himself at my friend (the youngest legal extra on set who was a female.) She was feeling vulnerable pre-filming since she was so young, and so she had latched on to me for the scene(s). He made his way over and literally sought her out every night on set. He's NOT gay.
Ummm. Just because a guy publicly goes after girls (here is an emphasis on GIRLS-see Taylor Swift) does nor mean he isn't gay. If he wants to hide in plain sight, going after people who are inappropriate or uninterested is a good ploy. Not that I recommend it.
His fauxmance with Reece Bitcherspoon was so incredibly transparently fake.
@Sarah Beth, I do not say I disbelieve you in your up close & personal observation, but Jake IS an actor, and being in the closet is probably excellent training for remaining in character. I have been around the Hollywood crowd a bit and I think with many actors, it is very hard to tell what/who their authentic self is.
@SophiaB I'm still laughing at your "girls" commentary. After that experience I just would shrug when people asked what he was like and say, "He likes 'em young." In fact, (he was really only chatting up my friend,) but when we did exchange a few words it was about the KIDS movie "Ratatouille." Ha!
