Justin Bieber's Bodyguards Have Guns

I'm trying to figure out why Justin Bieber's bodyguards have guns. There are enough of them and Justin Bieber is small enough that I think if any crazed fan with some glitter and a Sharpie who wants to make a life sized doll out of the tweener can be protected. They just have to hide his Snooki sized body beneath them and Justin will be protected. That is not as much fun though as flashing your gun when people are trying to take a photo of Justin or not one of the chosen few he decides to have his "intimate" time with. Oh, you didn't know he called it that? Yeah, because it does not always lead to sex and I think he thinks deep inside him that he is going to hell for his actions so he calls it intimate time. Anyway, Justin and his bodyguards are being sued because a photographer was roughed up by the bodyguards at the direction of Justin and one of the bodyguards flashed a gun he did not have a license for an is not authorized to carry concealed in Florida where this happened. Is it wrong of me that I would like Justin to have to do some jail time.

SusanB said...: In Florida a security guard has to get a "D" and "G" license. Every year you have to do a refreshment course with the exact same gun you carry on duty (for instance, if you do security work with a Glock, you can't do the refreshment course with a 32 pistol). If you don't do this yearly, you lose your license. If you have a "D" and "G" license your gun MUST be visible, it cannot be concealed. This has nothing to do with a concealed weapons permit - then your gun MUST be concealed and you can carry any type of concealed weapon legal in Florida. The CWP is applied for separately. So this idiot guard was on the job but his weapon was obviously concealed until he brandished it. It would be helpful to know if he has the "D" and "G" licenses necessary in Florida. If he doesn't but is working as a security guard he's in a world of trouble.; 7:56 AM

Seriously, I can see how celebrity bodyguards might need to be armed; there are definitely some batshit crazy people out there (the Bjork bomber & the Joss Stone wannabe-kidnappers/murderers come to mind right off, and let's not forget Rebecca Shaeffer & Theresa Saldana), and if security has reason to believe that their client is potentially in danger, then they need to do whatever is necessary to protect them, up to packing heat.

I think FLA is like LA in that it allows folks to carry weapons out in the open : rednecks+gun @gator=dinner/dollars.

The police can still take it if they think they need to, but, if you conceal a weapon without a permit, they will assume you are criminal, crawl your ass, take the weapon and your money--and maybe arrest you.

Those bodyguards should've known to get all permits and licenses in order before going into any state. They're not that professional. I think they're thugs.; 6:18 PM
