It consists of her enjoying herself after stripping off her clothes. They had a little break a month back and he showed it to some people. I'm trying to understand how JLaw is contradictory and hypocritical? She would be the first one to admit that she is no angel and she has talked about how much she drinks and isn't a role model in tons of interviews. It could be true but unless there is solid evidence it is hard to believe that she slept with somebody to get Winter's Bone and Hunger Games. Even if it is true, she is definitely backing it up with charisma and some acting talent, so it's not as annoying as somebody like Lohan who has not had this so called talent that everybody talks about since she was a child, even then it was more potential than talent. (Don't even get me started on Mean Girls, she SUCKED in Mean Girls. The ONLY reason that movie was so good was because of all the kickass supporting characters.)
Honestly, I don't care if people call somebody a slut. I think that the word gets a bad rap. In some people's views, I'm a slut. No worries, I don't take that as an insult in anyway whatsoever. That doesn't sound like solid evidence to me, at all. The fact that a lot of them apparently weren't selfies makes it even more likely it was Hoult taking pics for himself for when they weren't together. If she made a video for him, he obviously enjoyed that kind of thing.
Winter's Bone is the part that got her her first Oscar nomination and there is no way she slept with anybody for that role. Hunger Games came about because of how badass she was in Winter's Bone. Then she did X-men, I'm pretty sure she didn't have to sleep with anybody for that because she was already getting so much buzz from HG. SLP is the only role I can see her maybe having to sleep with somebody for but she was already so bankable by then that I don't see why she would have.
I know that Weinstein is powerful in Hollywood, definitely. But he is not powerful enough to get somebody to win an Oscar. He is only powerful enough to inundate Oscar voters with marketing of his actors and "For Your Considerations" but that is it. Did BCoop sleep with him to get his nomination? It always comes down to the votes in the end. She very well could have slept with him for it but she had already been nominated before in a part that she definitely didn't sleep with anybody for, so I don't know why she would start doing it then.

First of all, it doesn't carry as much weight as the two you have been called (and I'm sorry that you were) and second of all its very basic definition is a woman who has many casual sexual partners. It doesn't carry near as much weight as hate speech words. If somebody calls me a bitch, I say yep, I like to take charge. What we all need to remember is that Hollywood hasn't really changed all that much. It hasn't kept pace with social advancements in wider society. The power is still exclusively in the hands of middle-aged straight white men who behave like entitled frat boys.
In old Hollywood, the only actresses who were relatively safe from exploitation were those who arrived in town with a contract already in place (they were noticed working in theatre, foreign film, music or modelling). Once an actress had a long-term studio contract she could expect to be treated with a degree of respect. However, if the studio couldn't or wouldn't give her better roles, she would then have to choose whether or not to resort to the casting couch.
Aspiring actresses who moved to Hollywood and then began knocking on studio doors always, ALWAYS had to exchange sexual favours for career advancement. They knew that if they said no, the next girl would say yes and get the job or the audition or even just an introduction.
Actors now lack the security of a long-term contract. They have no guaranteed employment beyond their next job. In addition, without a studio publicity machine behind them, the onus is on them to keep their name in the press and gain casting agents' attention. A jobbing actor in Hollywood spends a great deal of time and energy just trying to maintain their place in the hierarchy. Not even moving forward, just maintaining. The easiest and cheapest means of achieving this is "dating" high-profile individuals. Many of the public relationships in Hollywood are fake. The reality is that the actors are sleeping with whomever they are working with at the time or who they hope to work with next.
There will be actors who refuse to engage in this behaviour, but they are the exception and their work, as a result, has to be exceptional.
I don't think the JLAw pics were casting couch, I think they were young people in love creating memories.

She has has a lot of "right place, right time" moments in her career and has been extremely fortunate but also has talent to back up all of her luck and all of that leads to her gigantic fame. Oh boy, the PC police is so strong in this one. They will even list a line that somebody else wrote for an actor as if it was something that they actually said. I guess because the actor agreed to say the line. Anyway, the fact that they don't differentiate characters played by actors and who they are as actual people is kind of hilarious and completely discredits everything they are trying to do.

If I were casting a movie, which is after all a BUSINESS PROPOSITION and all about MAKING MONEY (sorry for shouting) ... wouldn't I want to cast the best actress? Why would I cast somebody just because they slept with me? Doesn't that jeopardize the investment?
I mean, if you consider the box office potential of "fabulous actress A in my movie" versus "decent actress B who slept with me" - that's a huge amount of money potentially lost. That would buy a heck of a lot of ass with no strings attached.
Also, jumping in on JLaw's career, I have not seen any of her movies but I've seen trailers for The Hunger Games and every time I see her in a scene I think "Wow, she really has something." She's absolutely magnetic, even in a still or a short clip. She is a chameleon who can transform herself completely into the character. I gotta agree with Sugarbread Maker. You are a slut if you screw around. The definition of the word is "a person who screws around", so it is what it is. You can either deal with it and not care about what others think, or you can adjust your behavior.
It's always been interesting to me that the people who screech "Don't judge me, don't try and change me, I'm (whatever) and proud!" are the ones who are always trying to change others and police not their actions, but their thoughts and opinions. You have the right to live as you please but that does not make you immune from criticism. Well, it depends on the role you're casting. If it's just a two-dimensional love interest in a mindless popcorn flick, then the actresses abilities don't matter to you. See, for example, every woman cast in a Transformers film.

Very few actors, male or female, actually make a difference to the box office returns. Those that do are, of course, treated with more deference.
The Lawrence pics gave me a creepy vibe and sure looked like casting couch pics in my opinion. I have no doubt that the casting couch is used a lot in Hollywood and most the big stars use it to advance their careers even if they are talented.
I have seen lots of people (male and female) share pics of their significant other in compromising poses meant just one person's eyes. I don't know why anyone would share the a pic their loved one sent just to them with the world. It makes them look like a jerk for not respecting the other person's privacy.

Originally, the word slut meant "a woman with low standards of cleanliness". It was sometimes used to refer to a kitchen maid. Right up until the eighteenth century it was still associated with untidiness and it wasn't always considered an insult. The male equivalent for boys was "scamp".

I also agree that one of the problems with YFIP is that it takes attention away from those who really need to be spotlighted. When you are going to highlight Jane Krakowsky because her CHARACTER did blackface for a television show where they were making fun of people who are ignorant as to why blackface is problematic then it shows that you completely miss the point and don't understand satire. This becomes so harmful to their actual cause. Satire is something that I fear is going to become completely tabooed and that saddens me because it is hugely important to further social commentary. I'm just amazed that Sugarbread Maker's rumor mongering is now taken as fact by so many on this forum. Unfortunately, casting couch rumors are abound for every actress who has made even the tiniest name for themselves.
I'm in the business and yes, the casting couch is alive and well. However, not every actress has fucked for every part. That's utter nonsense. I've met Harvey several times too. Even had the pleasure of him yelling at me once. I joined a very big club that day.
Any actress who fucks him for the part, TOTALLY deserves the part for not barfing when having sex with that troll.
There's only such much marketing can do. The public embraces someone, or they don't. The firm I used to work with employed some interesting techniques to get someone's name out there. We were routinely called out for it (we never admitted it), but it worked really well with one person, and no amount of pushing and marketing could make the others achieve the same level of success. Some faded away almost immediately. Talent and charisma is what set the one person apart from the rest. Same with JLaw. Maybe she has used the casting couch in the past. But she has the elusive *it* and deserves her fame and success.

And why would anyone say she's a freak? Dumb, yes, for letting anyone take those pics. But freaky? Nah. Having been in the business myself, the casting couch is alive and well. I was told by a casting agent in LA that that was how it was done by most. It doesn't matter who you know or who you sleep with in the end. Who you know can only help present you with the opportunity, but it can't get you an Oscar unless you have someone powerful backing you up.
JLaw has the "it" factor. She's not an amazing actress at all, but she's a decent one and very attractive.
Gwynnie has the "it" factor. Her daddy bought her the Oscar. There is no way (and I don't care about rumor) that she had to blow anyone with the power of Steve Spielberg and her father and mother backing her up.
The Willis girls have had the opportunity...but don't have the "it" factor, no matter who they sleep with.
It's the masses that determine whether an actress is popular or not in the end. We're the ones that pay to see or rent a movie.
