Blind Item #3

This foreign born dual threat A- list actor came down with what I call press flu this week. It means he decided to call in sick so as to not promote his new movie at one of the European stops. Just sat in his room and drank.

Jaime Dornam

I can see how 50 Shades would do that to you.
(couldn't resist)

Dornan. Can u blame him? He's promoting 50 shades of crap. Who wants to do that?

Lol-OT-you're namesake was just voted the best city to live in America:)
Never been but going this summer

I bet Dorman is wishing he had backed out of the movie like the original guy did.

Apparently, he is ill with the 'Pre-flop Blues,' maybe?

I lived in Houston for awhile, while my sister used to live in Austin. When I visited her, I always had a great time. You'll love it I'm sure. It's got a lot of character, lots to do and places to go, people are friendly, etc. Both Austin and Houston are unlike the rest of Texas generally speaking - cosmopolitan and hip, not red necky.

Enty please stop. Just because you know Dornan blinds get a lot of hits, the last few allegedly about him are not even true. There's probably more press this time around then before. The only stops in Europe were Germany and now Madrid. As for Germany they did some press, went to Premier and then left right after to go to Madrid (they literally had the same clothes on from the Premier for the flight). And today they have done some interviews and are set to do a live interview soon. You're getting sloppy in your old age!

I agree--been to Houston-great city:)

I think I've seen more press for this film than any recently, Jamie and Dakota are on every show every day, and seem to be doing the same in Europe. I think this is a reverse psychology thing going on, make everyone think the movie will bomb to get the stans motivated.

Austin, please don't invite more people here. We have more than enough. Tell people how extremely hot it gets and stays for 4 or 5 months. And the traffic is insufferable.

I'm thinking Enty has the "blind" flu and has been drinking way more than usual. I guess there's no more good gossip on the FS's front so he's harping on the no press aspect. Meanwhile they have done more press in LA, Germany and now in Madrid then they have the first time around. Maybe Enty can read the future and he's talking about press for the third movie.

Settle down "Nettie", Enty hit it right on the head this time. Maybe you need to go back to a Dornan fan tumblr page. Jamie is a proud graduate of the Kit Harington school of "gratefulness". And by grateful I mean, like Kit, he attained fame from a singular character and he is well known for his disdain, moodiness, and bitterness over having to actually be remembered for/promote said character. It doesn't help that Dornan's bag of tricks is extremely limited and he is just another interchangeable UK/Irish actor.

I loved Austin when I went a couple of years ago. I'm heading to San Antonio in May; I'm really looking forward to it!

I'm praying that crap movie flops. But knowing the Trump voting housewives in surburbia who dream about being rap*d , it'll probably make at least some money.

Nice place also. The River Walk is awesome.

austin said...

LOL, oops.. sorry :) She's only coming to visit, and those tourist dollars are nothing to sniffle at. But yeah, Houston's traffic can be a nightmare too, and the summer temps anywhere in Texas are extreme, so winter/spring is the best time to visit actually.

Because $$$'s? plus producers will be aware of his attitude to promo. Not a good thing to do if you want a career.

I'm waiting for the day when Dornan breaks down on live tv and says working on such a crappy movie drove him to drink.

The rest of Texas is not necessarily red-necky. There are plenty of red necks in Austin and Houston.

austin said...

True enough, but there are more people from other parts the country who have moved to both Houston and Austin, creating a much smaller concentration/minority of said red neck population. When I lived in Houston, I only occasionally encountered native Houstonians - be it at work or socially. Most of the people I met were originally from other state.

If you would have read my post, I'm saying it's not true, only because Dornan has done massive press in LA, Hamberg and in Madrid, whether he was good at it or not, he STILL DID IT. There was no "calling in sick". So unless this blind is about another actor, it is not close to being remotely true!

Definitely Dornan. The first movie's press blitz was uncomfortable as heck between him and Dakota. Can't imagine that pair has rebuilt any burnt bridges either, which means more unsettling press junkets.

My sister is going to UT Austin and moved there from southern CA. SHE LOVES IT

All these comments make me want to visit Austin.

The people in San Antonio are the best! Friendly and warm.
Also, the folks in Victoria, near Corpus Cristi are pretty great. Dallas has the fantastic Dallas Book Depository museum. Not to be missed. But, San Antonio, the best of all.

I want to visit Austin too. But far from NZ though

I keep forgetting that "dual threat" means something different to Enty than it does to the rest of the world...

@ReNettie, Get a grip. Seriously. This is not a fan board. It's Dornan and it's true as multiple people who do know have confirmed. Have your meltdown somewhere else. As you struggle to go through the multiple stages of fan grief upon realizing the person, whom you don't know, isn't this perfect person his people portray him to be. What a shocker. And everyone read your childish rant... err, "statement"... as I said perspective, find it. Now.

You do realise movie contracts always cover promotional duties, right? The "promotional duties" section of any movie contract is v detailed. You cannot simply skip promos. If you don't have a medical note, you are in breach of contract and either won't get paid or will get sued or blacklisted.

Coral said...

Benn, you do realize you made up that entire promotional duties aspect of a contract and that it doesn't exist, right? All promotional press is dictated by their team of people whom can decide at any moment to fulfill or forego. I understand Dornan fans flooding here in a panic but this is an industry board for insiders. People who know. If you can't do your research, there a ton of other gossip sites for you out there.
