If Westwick were gay, it's hard to imagine he'd rape an actress, so I don't think this blind is about him.
He says the accusation is false.
Oh, ok.. I assume it would have to be false then. If it is, the actress must be really pissed at him for some unknown reason to make up a story like that and go public with it.
@austin. Is not impossible. I mean probably isn't Ed's case, but I've heard tons of cases mostly about Scientology trying to "fuck the gay away" from their cult members by introducing of the debauchery of Danny Masterson's rapey orgies. They had tons of Scientologist girls to get drunk, drugged and abuse, and that's how those rapes happened. One case I know is creepy Scion photographer Tyler Shields. One of Masterson's besties. He's queer and always has been but they "turned him straight" by those parties. Another one that could fit this exact same pattern is Ben Foster. When X men came out he was undoubtedly queer and he was hanging out all the time with Danny Masterson. You know X men right? the franchise helmed by two of the most decent men in Hollywood: Brett Ratner (who directed Foster) and Bryan Singer. They even make Foster date Ellen Page. ELLEN PAGE! LOL Now Danny paired with his best friend Prepon. I think Foster owns Danny and Scientology a lot of protection for something he might have done at those parties. You do the math.
Maybe a rape allegation is a way to force him out of the closet. Has the woman making the allegation been identified?

I've thought about that, and have a little theory of my own. Another possible reason Hollywood predators can be so hard to nail down could be because there are so many women (men too) who willingly throw themselves at the guys in addition to those they assault, and everybody knows it including law enforcement. I imagine it makes determining who's doing what to whom incredibly confusing to say the least.

The Casting couching culture being consensual makes it really hard for real victims to come forward and be believed, because for every victim of these pigs there are tons of women and men who would willingly fuck a Weinstein, a Ratner a Spacey for a role, an audition or even a fucking invite to a party.

I have mixed feelings about this. Its sad to know that talented people have to have sex with industry folks just to get a break. Its crazy that this is happening in the 21st century.
I'm being careful no to be too judgmental of the Hollywood culture. It also happens in every other industry where professional people are trying to get and stay ahead. We also don't know for a fact that all these accusations of rape are actually true. It seems to me that a lot of these dudes bent over and a lot of these ladies spread their legs VERY willingly---if it meant getting the part and keeping them in the runnings for getting other parts. It would be more accurately described as prostitution than rape.
I see this all the time in my industry. There is no shortage of women (and sometimes men too) who throw themselves at men who are wealthy and influential, and who can help them out with a job or a promotion. At one Fortune 500 company that I used to work for I knew a married straight dude who let the boss fuck him in order to get a promotion. In that same company, I knew a married woman who screwed the CEO to get a big promotion too. It happens everywhere.
I don't wanna split hairs here but I honestly struggle to see how someone in a position of power who abuses said power to coerce people into sleeping with them isn't forcing someone into a situation that isn't potentially dangerous. Nothing about that scenario sounds consensual to me. Also Ed was dumb for saying he's never met her because a) he did it without consulting his lawyer and B) now his words can be walked back. That said, anyone who actually feels sorry for him (though I can't imagine why) can rest easy knowing he probably won't get prosecuted because the justice system is a disaster and any evidence is probably long gone.
On the subject of casting couches: Even though it seems consensual, in reality I doubt most of these people would sleep with these guys if it came down between getting by on talent and actually earning their roles. And before anyone jumps on me, I'm aware the argument would be that most of these people don't have "talent" but then again, people make it by in the movie industry regardless of that and more based on who they know and I doubt all of them are sleeping around to get by. These guys do this to whomever they can get away with it on. If it was much easier for them to earn a living as an actor without having to sleep around, I'm sure they wouldn't.

Decades in different industries; from pro sports teams, telecom, car sales, retail, bartending... even my first job at a popcorn stand one of the teenagers slept with the married boss (6 kids) to get ahead... its infected our world... i admit i flirted when it served me... ewww ha

Even though it's not entirely impossible, it is kind of weird for a gay man to rape a woman. I would think he would avoid sex with women. I think there is more to the story on both sides. She's rather specific and he's claiming amnesia.

This is all so true and so sad bc u run into all kinds of problems. On one hand, power and money is sexy. Women have bad sex all the time and are assaulted all the time and get nothing. They can take whatever drugs to enjoy themselves with a particular guy, so be it. A lot of them r drug addicts, fame addicts, and/or sex addicts, so it’s not hard. But the powerful start to resent this and obsess over the women that say no. Especially if it’s a woman that might have said yes to someone else. What gives her the right? Or maybe she posed naked somewhere, did a nude scene? So for a certain type of man, the idea of a rape becomes more appealing cause it’s a new type of sex. And they know it’s a perfect crime.
