Today's Blind Items - The A+ Lister Child Porn King
It all began unraveling a little over two decades ago. His carefully constructed facade crumbled under the revelation that this permanent A+ list singer had multiple sexual relationships with girls as young as 9. It was the early 90's and he was working on of all things a children's record. It was not his record, but a female singer/songwriter who probably reached a peak of A- list in her career. For the most part, the female singer was a B lister. She did get a top 10 single on the top 200 and a number one on one of the specialized Billboard charts.
She wanted to make a children's record to give her young child something to listen to. It was a nice touch. Anyway, she was working with the A+ lister on the record and he wanted to make a video. So, some kids and their parents were invited to make the video. One of the parents that was at the video was 21 years old. With her was her 7 year old daughter. The father of that 7 year old? The A+ list singer. Yes, that means he impregnated a 14 year old. She was not the only teen he has ever impregnated. There are rumors that there are over a dozen teens he got pregnant through his decades long career.
Usually our singer would brush these kinds of things off and send a team of his lawyers swarming over any teen who tried to cause a fuss in the media. This was not the 70's though. This was this early to mid 90's and it was the late 1980's when he got that particular teen pregnant. The other difference was that the wife of the A+ lister was present when the 21 year old confronted the singer. This was the first time she ever met one of these women. She had heard rumors of their existence but the singer had always blown them off.
The fight that occurred in that studio that day was epic. Apparently much of it was caught on tape. That tape was the death knell for any possible graceful exit for the A+ lister. The wife of the A+ lister then hired someone to break into the safe of the A+ lister. Inside were hours and hours of tapes dating back to the late 1960's/early 1970's of the singer and various teens having sex. There were VHS tapes and reel to reel films. In the safe were documents related to pregnancies of teens and settlements paid. It was a treasure trove of documents and proof. The wife told the mom/singer who had simply just been making a record for kids. That mom/singer was crushed. She had looked up to the A+ list singer. She turned to a friend of hers who was also a singer (B) and told her what had happened. Apparently B knew about the A+ list singer and B said that a very close relative of hers was the same way back in the day. That relative, C, is also a permanent A+ lister and for a decade never had sex with anyone over 18, except for his wife. His philosophy was that he became a rock star to have sex with groupies. Very young groupies.
Going back to our A+ lister, he ended up getting divorced and didn't say a peep about the terms or the amount. He couldn't. His now ex-wife did try and find all the teens that had been impregnated by the singer and gave them each $1M. His settlements with them had been for $25K-50K each. As for the child porn collection? The now ex-wife gave it to her lawyer and so it will remain until after the death of the A+ lister. As for the singer/mom? She basically killed herself. She couldn't handle the fact she had looked up to the A+ lister and had worked with him and brought her own kid(s) around him.

Nicolette Larson husband was Neil Diamond's drummer on many albums.
Lisa Loeb guessers: she is very much alive, so can't be the singer who recorded the children's album and basically killed herself.

At the risk of sounding like a shill for Neil Diamond, I'm going to post again to say that he does not fit the blind nearly as well as JT does.
For starters, Nicolette Larson appears to be the singer/songwriter who basically killed herself. Very high odds. If not, then most of us will have to start over on the blind. I am assuming that Larson is the dead singer/songwriter, and I will call her "D".
The blind does not use "A" to refer to the main singer in question, but it does so implicitly by assigning "B" and "C" to two other singers, closely related to each other and close to Larson, so I will call the main singer in question "A".
Astrid Young and Neil Young fit the blind for "B" and "C" much better than Neil Young fits for "A". Larson was very close to Neil Young and to his sister Astrid. The blind says that a very close relative of "B" (the relative being called "C") was the same way as "A" back in the day. "C" is also a permanent A+ lister and for a decade never had sex with anyone over 18, except for his wife. His philosophy was that he became a rock star to have sex with groupies. Very young groupies.
Why would Neil Young only behave this way back in the day, for a decade? Perhaps because starting in 1972, he had three children, all of whom have health problems (Zeke, b. 1972, has a very mild case of cerebral palsy; Ben, b. 1978, has a severe case of cerebral palsy; Amber, b. 1984, has epilepsy). I can imagine that this changed his life, outlook, and behavior. The biggest impact probably happened after Ben was born in 1978, so that gives us about a decade from the time when Neil Young rose to fame and then was profoundly affected by Ben's condition.
After the confrontation during the production of the children's record and video, in 1992, Larson turned to Astrid who was also a singer ("B") and told her what had happened. Apparently Astrid knew about "A" and said that a very close relative of hers, her brother Neil Young ("C"), was the same way back in the day.

It seems to me that after Larson went to Astrid to tell her about "A", and learned that Neil Young had been the same way, Larson was not only crushed to learn about "A", but also about Neil Young. The blind only mentions Larson's reaction to learning about "A", but why not also to learning about Neil Young? Around the same time, she learned the same kind of thing about both "A" and Neil Young, two of her musical idols and friends.
I can see that Larson's close collaboration with Neil Young makes it tempting to name him as "A", but are we supposed to believe that his wife had his safe drilled open in the early 1990s, but then waited until 2014 to divorce him? Wikipedia says that "Young filed for divorce", not his wife, for what that's worth. Alternatively, are we to believe that the wife of "A" waited twenty years before having the safe drilled open? No to both, so I don't think Neil Young is "A". But I do think that Larson learning about his earlier behavior contributed to her despair.
I have not found direct links between Larson and Neil Diamond. Russ Kunkel, Larson's husband, played a lot for Diamond, but also for JT, and at some point Kunkel was engaged to Carly Simon, who had been married to JT. And, are we to believe that Larson was crushed to learn (putatively) that Neil Diamond did what "A" did? Really? Wasn't Larson artistically much closer to JT than to Diamond? I would say that, at least for a while, it was possible to regard JT as a more serious "artist" than Diamond, who has always cast himself as an entertainer. This despite his considerable strength as a songwriter. I admire his skill, but I don't think there's any question that he has always defined and presented himself as an entertainer. Larson was much more involved in the musical nexus of the 1970s "artistic" singer/songwriters, which included JT and Neil Young. I think it is much, much more plausible that she was devastated to learn that JT did what "A" did than she would have been if it had been Neil Diamond.
I realize that we do not have a whole lot of data points implicating JT as "A", but the timing of the divorce is one of them, along with the fact that Larson and JT were close, personally and artistically. It might be unfair to assume that we have "A" figured out. My main purpose here is to say that it is far less likely that "A" is Neil Diamond. For now, maybe we should just say that it's not looking good for JT and to keep researching, and perhaps to look forward to a reveal.

I was thinking the same thing. If Larson isn't the subject then maybe it's someone who has fallen down hard and/or useless, career-wise, at this point. Career suicide, if you will, which opens up a whole new can of worms.

Neil also had a state of the art recording studio on his property throughout the 80s and 90s and ‘00s. Much of his recorded output was done there. His wife was often there, the main house close by.
Wasn't James Taylor also part of the blind with one of the Beach Boys about a rape?

I'm sure this isn't the answer to the blind, but I had a friend in highschool that hooked up with a guy in some metal band she idolized....motley cru maybe? I wasn't that into them but she was and she was 14 and fucked one of them. That was like 30 years ago or more. My point is it wasn't rape and there was no coersion and she could have gotten pregnant. So I don't necessarily see that as the same as some creep preying on kids.

It's defo Neil Diamond, he and his seemingly devoted wife of many many years only divorced recently.
Nah, defo not Neil Diamond. Nicolette Larson would not have idolized him. Despite his being a skilled songwriter, he was always a fairly cheesy entertainer, and she took her herself seriously as a singer-songwriter. Much more likely that she would have been devastated to learn those things about JT.

The real question is: Did Nicolette commit suicide or was she suicided?
