Blind Items Revealed #5

May 16, 2018

Apparently things are not going well without this A list producer, so executives at this large movie studio are going to just give him a slap on the wrist for all his bad behavior towards women and welcome him back with open arms.

John Lasseter/Disney

Being demoted from an executive position is a bit more than a slap on the wrist. Plus if he created the culture that got him offed in the first place, it seems as if it was a consistent part of life working at Pixar and he shouldn't have been the only person shitcannned. And Disney isn't exactly pure when it comes to shit like this either.

"Take the number of potential victims in the company, A, multiply by the probable rate of harassment/assault, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the amount of money the harasser/assaulter brings in, we don't permanently fire them."

MORGAN FREEMAN!

Called it. Disney don’t care about values or anything like that as long as the cash is flowing.

Well, Disney better start caring, because the cash flow is slowing big time.

When he went on'leave' for 90 days, it was certainly done to deal with the PR optics in the moment, but there was also no reason to presume that it was a permanent departure. He wasn't fired. It remains to be seen if there are more skeletons in the closet that will be leaked should he return.

Well done.
I'm so disappointed in Pixar and Lasseter. My on-the-spectrum son is a Disney Pixar buff, and Lasseter is his idol. Very upsetting.

That’s the brilliance of Pixar movies. Everyone loves at least one of them, Coco is one of my all time fave movies. Pixar would survive without John Lassater. He’s been EP/Director on nearly all the Pixar hits. I just think Disney are putting money before values. No parent will tell their child that they can’t see a Pixar movie because someone associated with Pixar did a bad thing, that’s just one of the many reasons why Pixar will survive without him.

But what exactly did he actually do? Anyone know? All I'd read is that he hugged people often. What else did he do?

@Unknown, apparently he was a pig, kissing female employees on the lips, touching them, inappropriate comments, sexual harassment 101 type stuff.

How can you clean and punish sexual harrasment like this? Send him to prison? Is this prison worthy? Blacklisting also sounds a bit much for all the achievements hes done
