It's worth remembering that she has seen plenty of spacey types all throughout her stage years and so doesn't see him as that unusual. Plus the fact that he apparently gave solace to her after her husband died. We are talking old school theatre politics here.

I simply don't believe she took money for this. He isn't working in film and therefore there is no studio to pay anyone on his behalf. I think that it was simply his work in leading the Old Vic theater that endears her to him.
P.S. for what it is worth Judi Dench must be the shortest actress in the world. I saw her on the stage in London years ago and she was far shorter than the other cast members. Then her skirt twirled and I realized that she was that short even after wearing towering high heels.

Huh? There's a difference between a consensual relationship and assaulting unwilling people.
1. Judy Dench hasn't defended Spacey. She has merely expressed concern that people can be accused of SA etc., without a shred of proof and are presumed guilty before they've even seen the inside of a court. She also expressed concern about editing people out of films because she doesn't agree with censorship. So the idiots on here who have attacked her should wind their necks in and grow up. She has not said anything that comes even remotely close to defending paedophilia or sexual assault.

Yes, obviously, allegations alone are not enough but this is tantamount to how all of Hollywood looked the other way knowing full well that Weinstein was horribly abusing people. She wasn't wrong. She said that his work shouldn't be erased, and indeed it should not. Nor should he ever work again, but that is a separate point.

Kevin Spacey played the same character over and over. Literally, no depth to him as an actor. Let him be.
She's being used. I doubt she's capable of too much these days with the Alzheimers. The last interview I saw of hers she was needing to be prompted from a set conversation she already knew about in advance.

Kevin Spacey was molested as a child so it's no surprise he would be drawn to young males. Humans process life experiences in bizarre ways. He should have gotten therapy to deal with his issues instead of continuing the abuse cycle. That's on him 100%.

Not all molested children grow up to be molesters themselves. It's usually children molested by close family members, particularly their own parents, who turn out to be pedophiles. So the simplest explanation is that atractiom to children is inherited or genetic if you prefer fancy terms. Actual molestation is but the trigger, pedophiles are probably born that way. Not that it's an excuse for their crimes, like being born with short-term orientation and a tendency for violence isn't a legal and moral excuse for common criminals.
How are actresses going to rehabilitate a pedophile? Can't happen. He needs to inflict pain, that's clear.
