Taylor is a closeted lesbian, and her "boyfriend" is to conceal that. There is some debate as to whether she's still dating Karlie Kloss, if they're just exes who get along, or if she's dating some other woman.

karlie surprised swift by the wedding, and swift is hiding out in mourning according to this blind.
theres a likelihood the wedding happened bc of the legal hammer coming down on the kushners and that whole spousal protection thing that comes when matrimony meets testimony.. even tho joshua kushner is openly liberal (and, shocker, the kushners were always liberal before THIS weird ass trumpian world the country is living in) so its not a giant middle finger to his family, a family that is super corrupt anyway and has used the guise of liberalism before for their dealings (and was before trump became president)
