Ann Curry Leaving NBC First Week Of January- Might Go To Work For Angelina Jolie

Although Ann Curry's contract with NBC doesn't actually end for a few months, she will be leaving NBC the first week of January when her vacation and sick leave kick in for the year and won't be back. She is counting down the days and apparently has three people in the entire building that are not afraid to be seen talking to her. NBC executives wants her gone and don't ever want to see her again.

But, they might have to. Ann has supposedly lined up a job working for her old buddy Angelina Jolie. Ann would be flown in to film documentaries and interviews with Angelina which would then be sold to networks or distributed to other news outlets around the world. This way Angelina only talks to one person who she trusts and gets her face and her causes and her movies being discussed without having to sit through a million interviews. Plus, I imagine Angelina will let An see Brad Pitt naked every so often. I kid. You know Ann will be trying though.

NBC Wants A Favor From Ann Curry

After banishing Ann Curry to an office the size of a closet for the remainder of her contract with NBC and telling her how much they hate her and how awful she is and how they won't let her go just so they can keep her miserable because they don't want her to say bad things about them ever, now NBC is in a bind. A big bind. They want an interview with Angelina Jolie. They want to be first. Back in the day it would be no problem. Ann would pull out her special phone that was given to her by Angelina just for the purpose of calling her or sending worshiping texts to Brad Pitt and Angelina would invite Ann over and after an appropriate time sacrificing bees for her bee venom facials, Angelina would deign to let Ann ask questions. Now though, Ann Curry is not going to do any favors for NBC. Why should she? What is in it for her? I would ask for all of the money remaining on my contract and the ability to any network she wants right after the interview.

Ann Curry Still Hates Matt Lauer

Kathie Lee Gifford decided to cause some drama over at The Today Show. She decided to take out a full page ad in USA Today to show support for Matt Lauer and had everyone on the cast and crew of the show sign the letter. Well, the ad never got published, but Kathie Lee told the NY Daily news that she managed to collect seven pages of signatures but that Ann Curry was not one of them. Kathie Lee says she never had the chance to see Ann while collecting the signatures and that Ann is not really part of the group anymore anyway. Well, I guess we know who wants to guest host with Matt Lauer next time there is an opening. Throw Hods under the bus.

Matt Lauer Blames NBC For Ann Curry Mess

Matt Lauer gave an interview to The Daily Beast and basically blamed NBC for the way the Ann Curry debacle happened. According to Matt it had nothing to do with Matt and that he, being the noble guy he is offered to resign. If he offered to resign, NBC would have jumped all over that in a second, especially if they didn't have to pay him. Matt is trying to do what he can to save his job and get back fans, but ticking off your bosses while you face a May deadline is probably not the best move. It also makes you look like a whiner.

“I don’t think the show and the network handled the transition well," Lauer tells Kurtz. "You don’t have to be Einstein to know that. It clearly did not help us. We were seen as a family, and we didn't handle a family matter well.”

Umm, you kicked her out of the house Matt and now want the world to think it was your parents who kicked her out. Nope. It was you. You wanted Natalie Morales in your house and decided to kick out Ann and when she cried you made it seem like it was not your idea at all.

How Much Does Ann Curry Hate Matt Lauer?

Wow. Did you watch Ann Curry and Matt Lauer's exchange on The Today Show yesterday? Matt kept trying to pretend everything was great between the pair. It is probably how he treats his wife too. "Yeah, I was over at Natalie's. How was your day honey?" Matt tried to talk to Ann at the beginning and end of her segment and she was having none of it. Two or three words at the beginning and the obligatory comment at the end and not even a goodbye, just a nod. She has a lot of anger inside. I wish she could have just let everything out on the air right there. Just explode on Matt. Just let everything out that he has done and let the world know. She didn't though. You just know that Ann has a Matt voodoo doll at home though. Poking that thing, and removing all it's hair. She must jump for joy everytime she sees the ratings go down even more and know it isn't her.

NBC To Pay $10M To Get Rid Of Ann Curry

You don't think winning the morning television race is important to networks? NBC is going to pay Ann Curry $10M just to get rid of her and the last year of her contract. Being second in the morning is not an option. I'm not really sure how Hoda is going to work out although it is fun to say her name and spell it. How many people named Hoda do you know? I watched Natalie Morales do that Sister Wives Q&A thing last night, but she looks and acts just like every other news/host person and is indistinguishable. At least Hoda stands out. So did Ann though. Maybe people are just tired of Matt.

Ann Curry Getting Fired

Ann Curry's days at Today could be numbered. Apparently NBC wants to replace her very badly because since she took over the show has really slipped in the ratings. I'm pretty sure Ann will be ok with it because she wants to go start her dream job which is to run a television network that is devoted 24 hours a day to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Ann has been at Today forever, but I guess everyone liked her over doing the news and didn't want to see her for the entire six hours that Today is on. OK, it is less than six hours, but it seems like way more. Kathie Lee Gifford is the most likely replacement.
