Kathie Lee Gifford decided to cause some drama over at The Today Show. She decided to take out a full page ad in USA Today to show support for Matt Lauer and had everyone on the cast and crew of the show sign the letter. Well, the ad never got published, but Kathie Lee told the NY Daily news that she managed to collect seven pages of signatures but that Ann Curry was not one of them. Kathie Lee says she never had the chance to see Ann while collecting the signatures and that Ann is not really part of the group anymore anyway. Well, I guess we know who wants to guest host with Matt Lauer next time there is an opening. Throw Hods under the bus.

Ann Curry's bitterness was covered well earlier this week in the NY Times excerpt from the upcoming book about the morning show wars. I highly recommend reading that article.
That's a really beautiful picture of Ann from 20 years ago.
I love the part about that the ad never even got published. Just keep chugging that wine Kathy Lee. Even USA Today knows his clock's ticking, he's burned too many bridges, screwed (and over) too many coworkers, and f'd too many men's wives. He's a blight on that show, and needs to be burned off it. This isn't the set of Mad Men, with Don Draper's wandering Hamm Dong calling all the shots. That time is over, the women that have slept with him may have played the role of seductress to try and get what they wanted out of him but the bottom line is the f'ing bottom line. If he's not bringing in ratings and the viewers hate him, what can the network do? Their hands are tied, they have to get rid of him. He made his own bed by overplaying his hand and thinking with his little head too much.
Nothing this drunk attention wh*re does surprises me.
Why the hell wouldn't she? I still "hate" him for it and I haven't watched that show in 20 years.
oh stfu Kathy Lee.
Ann should take her ten million and phone in a few interviews for the next two years and move on.
Her keeping the wound open doesn't really change what happened or do anything Matt-wise--I think he's toast--he and Jay Leno are going to walk off into the sunset soon.
Ann is under contract--she obviously resents NBC and Matt--but she's taking their money and she needs to show up and do the work--in the end it will make her look better to another employer down the road. If she is part of any continued internal problem--who would want to hire that kind of person?
She didn't see Ann while getting signatures. How is this news?
Years ago I used to laugh at my mother in law for liking KLG so much when she and Regis had their show. Then I started putting on the 4th hour when I work from home and started to enjoy it a little, even thought KLG was okay. Now I realize she's an idiot and my original opinion was correct. I haven't watched the main part of the Today Show since Katie Couric left.
Who really gives a shit about fluff piece morning shows? They're all trite and irrelevant, says the person who regularly reads celebrity gossip
I cannot fucking stand Kunty Lee Gifford. Never could.
Meanie hit it. Why is kathie lee going to bat for matt? Did he promise her a roll in the hay? Makes no sense.
There was a great excerpt from an upcoming book about it in the NY Times recently.
Operation Bambi
I'd be curious to know if all those people who signed this were coerced into it by Kathy Lee. And she's one person I'd love to see disappear in a big puff of smoke. I saw her and Hoda one day while stuck in the chair at the dentist's office and made them turn it off. Getting your teeth cleaned is stressful enough without watching that idiot.
Everyone that signed that card is kissing butt to keep their jobs in case Matt doesn't get canned
I don't blame her Matt is a real shit, sneaky as hell.
He's a back stabber ...
this sounds like some mean girl petition type shit
i dont like it
and if someone tried to get me fired thats HATE FOR LIFE
i have mouths to feed
Ann hasn't made any public statements. She has not slammed Matt or Today or the Network. I think she is handling this well & if the NYP says otherwise, too bad. No reason for her to kiss their ass, she's showing up & doing her job.
I have that NYTimes Sunday magazine that has an article about the goings on at the Today show. Haven't read it yet but look forward to it.
I confess to never seeing the draw with KLG. And I don't give a green goddamn what she has to say. You have wonder what her motivation is for getting people to sign an ad or for her to place one in the first place. AND, why wasn't it published? Who put the kibosh on that?
Ann needs to get over it. She wasn't a good anchor and lots of people get fired. But most don't continue with multi-million $ contracts. Enough already.

I sense some smoldering resentment here--come on, ladies, admit it, you're envious of the fact that Kathy Lee is still knocking boots with the 82-year-old "human love machine," Frank Gifford.
Kathie Lee is such a suckup and sycophant.
Daaaaaaaaaamn!!!!
Most people did not like Ann anyway, so she was an easy throw to under the bus. But Matt is a big pile of garbage, more so than Ann ever was. They both needed to go, but Matt's a D*ck.
I have no doubt Ann Curry continues to hate Matt Lauer but that's not what this article is about. Actually Ann was just on Rock Center in prime time Matt so suck on that.
I don't believe Kathie Lee got seven pages of signatures period. If they won't make her a guest host on Today maybe she can revive Name That Tune.
Lucas I just read that story. It was pretty eye opening and will change everyone's mind about "poor " Ann Curry and bad guy Matt. I highly recommend.
I like anyone who drinks on air...KLG.
I will never forget Ann Curry reporting on Katrina, from a rowboat...where she points out the black laborador frantically swimming towards her and the soldiers in the boat,
"We aren't allowed to pick up the dog" she said....as she happily rowed away.
Karma is a bitch Ann Curry.
I'm just going to come right out with it: "not having your name on an advertisement that Kathie Lee did" does not equal "evidence that Ann Curry hates Matt Lauer." She probably dislikes him, likely loathes him, but also may not have been available for this Gifford get-her-own-name-out-there PR event.
Anna Nonymous
clap clap clap bravo
the Hamm Dong LOL
I can't believe the NY Times published that article! It was just a gossip piece. I can't believe Meredith Viera had lunch with Matt Lauer! I could see Katie Couric, but Meredith was not shy about her dislike of Matt. I believe there was an "Operation Bambi," but that whispered "It'll be O.K." from Meredith sounds like pure fiction. The NY Times has sunk.
