Aside from the screaming (and I question if it was really "screaming"), this just sounds like a normal married couple to me.
1.) You should either both agree on the decor of your home or one of you has to defer to your partner (the "If I had every fuck in the world, I would not spare a single one on whether our dining room is painted London Gray or Prussion Blue, so whatever you want to do is fine by me" clause)
2.) If your finances are joint, expensive purchases shouldn't be made unilaterally by one party.
