According to imdb, Billy Currington was born in Georgia. Can't be him if the blind says he's from the midwest.

Well, it does say that he tries to pass himself off as being from the south. If I had an IMDB listing it could say I was born in Tunisia...doesn't make it true...matter of fact, I might start telling people that...sounds very mysterious and interesting!

If the singer is lying about where he's from, why would EL use that as a hint?
He wouldn't, because we would all think the singer is from the place he says he's from.
Since EL says the singer is from the midwest - this has to be common knowledge.

It could be Billy Currington, but this site is pretty in depth about his upbringing. I'll keep looking at some others.
Rockie Lynn (not sure on the spelling) is from here in Minnesota (definitely chilly, definitely midwest), but that's not really a secret. I don't pay attention to country so haven't pinged my gaydar.

Okay, let me rephrase that.
Why would anyone give a hint to a BI that wasn't common knowledge? They wouldn't.
If the BI says the guy was born in the midwest, then he was born in the midwest (not Georgia) and online sources will indicate that.
Ok- I'm not psycho- but.... I do "skip tracing" at my job. Someone owes us money, and skips out on it, I trace them (and their bank accounts) down. Just part of my lovely job.
-Anywho- If you look up Billy Currington, Jason Michael Carroll (I like country, he would have been my guess), Dierks Bentley, Josh Turner all have had legitimate addresses where they state they have grown up, and no shocking midwestern addresses anywhere.
-Jason Aldean I couldn't find. Even with his parents names- I couldn't find him. His bio's say that he grew up partially in Fla though. So I don't know that he's totally claiming to be a good 'ole boy anyways. Still a possibility!
-Bucky Covington I couldn't find either, or his twin Rocky- but Bucky is also married (to "Crystal", and NO- I couldn't find her either)
-I also couldn't find anything on Jake Owen, but he grew up on the beaches of Florida.
I now feel like an icky pervert looking up all these poor men! I'm going to go shower!

I don't spend a lot of time thinking about who ZX is or even if she exists, but I would not be surprised if someone in DS's world be it a manager, publicist, lawyer (not EL obviously), parent, or agent told her it it is not a good idea to post details of your life on a gossip blog.

I thought it might be the lead singer of Rascal Flatts, who is from Columbus, OH. But, not really rising star, and wikipedia also says he's married with 2 kids. Columbus isn't a corner either.

Just because you were born someplace doesn't mean you're from there. I was born in Georgia but my family moved to LA when I was less than a year old. I consider myself a Californian, but if I wanted to portray myself as a good ol' Southern girl, I could certainly say I'm from Georgia. So it could be someone born in the south but not raised there.
Kenny Chesney is definitely from Tennessee - I have family who went to high school with him and who still go to church with the rest of his family.

Well, the lead singer of Rascal Flatts, Gary LeVox, didn't move away from Columbus until 1997. So...sounds to me like he's FROM Ohio.
People in Columbus don't have southern accents. I know this, I'm FROM Ohio.
I don't really think he's the answer though. Just wanted to make that point.
