@MM - they were only engaged - the wedding never happened. Something about her has always bothered me, not sure what it is.

MM & RQ...actually, i know joanna...and she's very much a plantain eating-i love guava 'n cheese-malta & leche condensada card-carrying cuban...she doesn't get asked about her b/g...ever, it seems like, but when she does, there's a lot of pride there...it was esp. noticeable when she was w/ trace b/c he's mexican and she loved pointing out the cultural differences (of which there are a zillion). i personally don't think she just gets interviewed enough, period....and when she does, you never see it brought up. i can see why you'd think that tho...just wanted to give a little first-hand input.

@ MontanaMarriott - On the other hand nothing is worse than someone playing up their roots when they have no real connection to it. Like Christina Aguilera trying to play the Latina card when she 1) has been estranged from her father since childhood, 2) doesn't speak Spanish (and yet made a Spanish language album to cash in on that market), 3) Started using the Spanish pronunciation of her surname out of the friggin' blue.
