Britney Spears Nanny Set To Testify That Britney Has been Emotionally Manipulated

This whole Sam Lufti defamation lawsuit against Britney Spears and her parents finally goes to trial this week and according to Radar, one of the first people to testify will be a former nanny employed by Britney. This nanny, Lourdes Torres, was employed by Britney when the Conservatorship was first put into place and will testify that Britney was being emotionally manipulated by her family to do what they wanted and that it was so evil that she had to quit her job because she could not bear to watch it anymore. As much as the world would probably like to see Britney testify at the trial, the judge in her Conservatorship said that Britney can't be forced to do so because she would suffer immediate harm if she did. I think this trial is one of the reasons the Conservatorship has stayed in place to. If there was none, then Britney would be forced to testify and then she might say nasty things about her parents which they don't want to come out so they keep her basically locked up and unable to talk about them.

Enty,i can see that you liked Bald Crazy Britney

i guess you don't know bipolar peoples and you never worked with them.
I Guess you never saw a bipolar person in crisis.
I guess you don't remember the night when Britney closed herself in her bathroom or bedroom with her kids and the persons (in her house) needed to call police and emergency because they 're afraid for herself and her kids'life

As evil as Sam Lufti is, he was a chance for.Britney to break free of her Monarch Programming. Except he had his own agenda. I feel.so so terrible for her. She looks sad and defeated everytime I see her. I don't know if she will ever break freen but I am hoping and praying that she does.

this will get ugly.
Bi-Polar is one of the worst illness's, I pity anyone who lives with it or a person who is afflicted.

I don't buy it. She has been healthy, functioning and her finances seem to be in tact since the conservatorship was put into place.

People who pimp out their children should go to jail. I can't believe the Spears and Lohans are free walking around after they've destroyed their children.

This just goes to show how much of a mess Britney is, and why she should be able to retire and enjoy the money SHE worked so hard to get.

I just found out that I could watch old music videos through On Demand. I watched some old school Britney this weekend and was reminded of what a great performer she was and how you could tell she wanted to be the best. Then I watched the Womanizer video and it was all right, but she looked like she was half assing her way through it. It looked like she just didn't care anymore.

I find this whole situation with her really frustrating, not for her talentless autotune pop shit but for her as a mother and human. Is she really sick in some way? Does she really need someone there to watch her like a 10 year old at all times? Is she really that dangerous? Does someone spend a large majority of their day feeding her lies to tell her she needs them? If so, how can she go on xfactor or into a studio and make money if she's so fragile? I'm not poking fun or making light, this whole thing really seems bizarre and she seems like a sweet girl who adores her kids and the time she spends with them. Just a regular person who is caught up in some shady, shady shit.

I couldn't imagine being in a position where I'm not sure if there's anyone in my life I can trust. For someone like her, I'd imagine it becomes one big vicious cycle. I hope she finds her peace away from everyone some day, and is able to tell her truth.

@NapAssasin - I guess she's had some troubles on X Factor, and Simon knew it would be a rough ride going into it. She seems to be getting more comfortable, but there are times in the auditions episodes where you can see that she is freaked out. Simon and LA would quietly ask her if she was okay, if she needs a minute, etc. Who knows, maybe part of keeping her "stable" is keeping her busy so she doesn't have idle time to get into trouble? I feel bad for her.

NapAssasin said...

@Amber - I agree that's really terrible. Someone like Simon might be good to have on her side as a confidante, seems like she's in need of one.

Simon is exploiting her as well.

Yeah I'm not a Sam Lufti fan at all, but I do think the man has a point. If she can host a singing reality show she should be capable of testifying. Sad situation overall

Judge* or whatever the hell her title is lol, I don't watch those shows.

I felt bad for her when she did the MTV special, she looked so sad and lost. It was like she knew she couldn't trust anyone and she finally came to terms with it! I wish her well and hopefully someday she will be able to think for herself.

Sorry, I can't take Lufti or any of his minions as a credible source. Need more valid info on this.

I agree. I think that for her recovery structure and feeling productive are probably very important. That's pretty normal so it makes sense.

Does this genius Mensa member nanny have a Ph.D. in psychology? Does she understand mental illness? Has she ever had to cope with someone who has severe bipolar disorder? Does she understand the danger that people in manic states can present to themselves and others? Does she understand that those who are manic depressive are much more likely to do illegal drugs and over-indulge in alcohol and that their families need to be strong, tough, resilient and at times practice "tough love" that might seem cruel to an outsider but which is actually in the patient's best interest? Did this nanny think Brittney was better off locking herself in a bathroom with her toddler while threatening to do physical harm to herself? Does she understand that Britney was hospitalized under a 5150 order? Does she understand what that means? Is she a doctor? A mental health professional of any sort? No? Then I feel pretty comfortable disregarding her impressions. Sam Lufti is a piece of human excrement, and anyone who testifies on his behalf is no better.

Robert said...

Her mental disabilities (if they exist) to one side, I think it's an absolute disgrace the way the legal system has allowed her father to make Britney into a virtual slave. Can't help wondering how much money must have changed hands between her father and the judge who made that outrageous ruling. Britney should be free to live her own life, and if she goes down in flames as a result, so be it.

Unknown said...

The nanny is not an expert witness and will not be giving testimony regarding mental health issues.

Like any regular witness, she will be able to testify to what she personally observed.

The judge and jurors (if any) will be able to hear from others to help them place the nanny's testimony in context.

It'll work out.

bookjacket said...

Thank heavens she is still under legal supervision. I heard Sam Lufti on the radio bragging about his control over her and it was horrifying. She was high as a kite in the background. She needs to stay on her meds. Why does everyone think the decision to work and stay a celebrity is being forced on her? As far as I can tell thats what she wants.

Well said, Kathleen! Robert - what makes you think she's treated like a slave? You are privvy to one small snippet of her life. You have no idea what goes on behind closed doors.

portlandjewel said...

My former husband is bipolar along with PTSD and if he doesn't have a project to work on he either goes to bed for a month or goes manic for a year... I don't know what her diagnosis is but I think you are right about keeping busy. It can really help.

Anotheramy said...

Lets look at this. She was running around half naked buying coffee for 36 or 48 hours straight, shaving her head, locking herself and her kids in the bathroom. Her father got control, she wore under wear, took her meds, slept through a tour to get her finances back in order and now she has a day job. She has all her hair, there's no Starbucks trips and her kids dont have that terrified look in their eyes anymore. She may be dead inside but its a lot better than the bat shit crazy she was before.
You know those people wandering down the street mumbling to themselves? Those are the ones whose families didn't take control of their lives and make them robots and prisoners.

Lufti is a beelzebub. end of discussion.

Elissa said...

@Robert: the flaw in your philosophy is that, if she is allowed to "go down in flames", it is her children who will get burned.

Her sons need a functioning mother. If keeping her busy, working, and on her medication is in THEIR best interest, what is the problem?

Let see before dad - quicky marriage and divorce, shaved head, lashed out at paps, coming out of gas station bathrooms barefoot, flashing crotch, hanging out with Paris Hilton...

Dad steps in - Three hit albums, two successful world tours, a gig on the x-factor, fiancee with a brain and a bod..If that is slavery sign me up.

As I have mentioned, I recently started working hospice care. Each of the individuals I have worked with have an executor hanging around like a buzzard. It really bothered me the first couple of times. But now it seems that (usually) the person minding the finances, is trying to respect the wishes of the impaired individual from BEFORE their decline. So maybe the actions of those close to Britney are because they have reflected on what she would want if she were her former, healthy self.

OKay said...

Just because Britney isn't playing out her crazy in public anymore, that does NOT mean that she's any better with the conservatorship. It just means that it's all kept under wraps better. And it's been pretty well documented that she'd rather not work, although I agree she needs some kind of a focus. But if she is incapable of testifying about herself, then she most definitely isn't capable of choosing to get married or of working anywhere near as much as she does. No, I'd buy that her parents really couldn't care less as long as the money train keeps on rolling.

Sometimes mentally ill people have to be manipulated and told what to do to avoid disaster.

bg said...

Didn't her parents remaryy one another? That would mean they wouldn't have to testify against one another...

lollydarling said...

I agree with Kathleen and toldyaso85 - remember, she has kids, and needs to be stable for them. Britney's on live TV - she couldn't do that if she were a 'slave', for goodness sake.

But the idea of Simon Cowell taking care of anyone makes me laugh VERY hard. Look at how he screwed Cheryl Cole! He'd kick Britney out in 2 secs and never care what happened to her if the ratings fell.

The "slave" comment made me think of something. I've been torn bc I loved the circus since I was little, but now I'm aware of animal abuse. I don't trust absolutely everything PETA says and I tell myself that animals won't perform unless trained kindly. That sounds like Britney. Can any animal experts weigh in?

It must be difficult for celebrities to deal with the "groundhog day" aspect of life (seriously). Most of us 'normals' are used to the monotony, and can even find it comforting - or at the very least, not overstimulating (which can be a negative thing).
Really not sure what I'm getting at. Oh well. :)

@katsm0711 regarding circuses:

PETA is not exaggerating about circuses. They are living hells for the animals forced to perform in them. Wild animals were not meant to learn tricks and perform under a spotlight in front of crowds. They have no idea what it means, and generally the only way to train them is with pain. They live their lives in tiny cages with no trace of natural habitat and are moved around the country constantly. I would never, ever spend a penny at a circus that kept wild animals. All the big name circuses do not train their animals kindly.

I would assume that both Britney and circuses animals suffer from extreme depression, so in that regard, yes they are alike.
