This current franchise actress has opened the closet door before but just a peek. She has always been pressured by her people and the studio financing this franchise to be super quiet and to at least pretend she likes guys. The actress though has had enough and says who she is as a person is more important than a studio or a movie and has been seen openly with her long time girlfriend.

I think her being gay wouldn't be considered a bad thing with Pitch Perfect. A giant chunk of those fans are gay or bisexual women. They desperately want her to be gay, so I don't see Universal having a problem with it in this case. If it were an Avengers type of franchise they might, but not for a franchise that has such a huge lesbian following.
I guess Woodley as well, AK kind of dates men and can have a descent career so guess she doesnt want to blow that.

people don't, but money cares. ask the studios. thats honestly the only thing, which is why people like Bradley Cooper and Leo and Renner will never be fully out. it's considered box office poison to have an openly gay male star leading an international hit. people are homophobic as it is in countries like UK/US and european but elsewhere, holy crap...its obviously worse

A mentality that has no opinions on sex, religion or politics = A crashing bore.
That said, of course everyone should be able to come out without the fear of losing their careers (and their lives in some countries). We'll get there eventually but everyone reading this blog will be long dead by the time it's accepted without prejudice or censure. The world and human nature move slowly when they move at all.

HuggieBearIsMe is right. fans of the Pitch Perfect franchise (if you can even call it that?) have been pressuring the studio to make Anna and Brittany Snow's characters fall for each other for quite awhile now. there are so many lesbian undertones to that franchise already, if it were Anna it wouldn't hurt it at all as most of the fans would love and embrace it. plus Anna's people aren't dicks either and wouldn't hold her back like that, especially after the incredible speech she gave at the Women of Power event about people embracing who they are.
Not only is someone with no opinion on those three topics a crashing bore, but they're not very bright either. We have to talk about religion because people want to kill other people or at least treat other people in a horrible way based on their religious beliefs. Politics is the same. Towns, cities, states, & countries need to be run. Politics has an effect on every man, woman, & child all over the planet.
So Sbreezy29 the only way people won't care about those things is if there's no religion, no politics, & no sex. I'm fine with no religion, but you need politics to run things, & a world without sex? No thanks.
I was at the Women of Power luncheon. She was nervous but what she had to say was fantastic. It would have been a perfect time for her to come out if she were gay. But that speech she gave is a big reason why I have such a hard time believing she would be hiding that she's gay. I could see her hiding it early in her career, but now? No way. She would have said it by now if she were gay.
