Dean McDermott Avoids Jail In Child Support Case Only Because His Ex Showed Him Mercy
Dean McDermott was almost sent to jail on Thursday for failing to pay child support to his ex-wife.
Tori Spelling’s husband appeared in court in Los Angeles on Thursday after his former spouse Mary Jo Eustace filed a complaint claiming he stopped paying child support for their 18-year-old son Jack in October and owes her thousands of dollars.
After filing her paperwork Mary Jo said, "This has been difficult. It's very hard to stand up for yourself."
McDermott, who told the court he had “fallen on hard times”, was dramatically read his Miranda rights, which are given to those intended to be questioned in police custody, after being held in contempt of court for failing to pay.
Before sending him to jail, the judge gave the former couple an opportunity to work out a deal and Eustace withdrew the complaint, sparing McDermott jail time. He is now scheduled to pay off half of the amount he owes by Monday. Insiders told the outlet Eustace will refile her complaint as early as Tuesday if he doesn’t pay up.

He's "fallen on hard times" because he continues father children he can't afford. He and that fameho of a wife need to stop and pay up what he owes. I f☆cking hate deadbeat parents.

It's my guess Dean was trying to be smart.
He had a decision to make: marry the rich homely girl;
or stay married to the woman he had been with for 13 years.
Since first learning he did this, I have always thought it a dick move.
I hope his marriage to Tori dissolves prior to Candy's demise -- just so he doesn't get a dime of the Spelling TV Syndicate fortune.
I wonder if Mary Jo ever looks back and thinks "damn I shoulda hooked up with Dylan instead of Dean...."
Because, being honest, I would.
Also, I wonder how many dirty looks and heckles Dylan has got in his lifetime that literally made no sense to him at the time.

Exactly, and it completely backfired on him, especially since Candy loathes him and Tori and will probably leave all her money to her son Randy Spelling.
So, Dean and Jon Gosselin have that in common. Neither deadbeat can support the kids they have, and both needed their ex to cut them a break..although Jon ended up not having to pay anything at all
Jon Gosselin doesn't have to pay child support because he signed over full custody to Kate so she could be back on t.v. $$$
He was blocking them from filming right after divorce but when he couldn't pay child support she let him off the hook sd long as she got full custody and could go back on tv
