Blind Items Revealed #2

September 3, 2014

If you want to be a production assistant on the television show starring this A list comedian/actor you better be a woman and young and willing to sleep with him. He is not the nice guy that everyone seems to think he is.

Louis C.K.

One of the main ingredients for being a successful stand up comedian star is you have to be pretty fucked up in your mind. Think about all the great comics, most of them are screwed up one way or another.

Pretty much everyone in hollywood is a predator and if you want to be part of that world, you probably have the same intent.

Who ever thought Louis CK was a "nice guy?" That lack of perception should bar such people from leaving their homes. He's overtly hostile to a wide range of people, mostly easy and convenient targets (what a profile in courage) but also including women (because we've been trained to expect that), but the person he's most hostile to is himself. The self-loathing is tangible ... and well-deserved. It's what made his act authentic despite all the dull, standard-issue virtue signalling. You couldn't listen to his act and not conclude that there was something really really wrong on the inside that you would prefer not to know about. The complaints about him aren't nearly as bad as I had thought (given the build up over the years) they would be. Just a vile, petty little man being vile and petty. With his dick out. There were contemporaneous and consistent accounts of his antics, so I don't mind that he's getting shut down now, after all this time and despite all the mf'ers in charge knowing all along about his shenanigans. Basically, he's getting run out of town because it's suddenly fashionable to not be (caught being) vile and petty to women. So that's positive. Until fashion changes back.

I wonder if he's getting off easy now, having apologized for masturbating in front of up-and-coming professional comics.

Where there's smoke, there's fire. What about the women who didn't have any industry standing, the housekeepers and the nannies? Did he always just keep his hands to himself, or did he take it further?

@Few Views read his statement again he NEVER apologized to the women or for what he did. He only admits to doing it after asking them.

I wouldn't say he owned it completely. It's a step but we have a long way to go.

Thank you timebob. I hate that statement. I think it's weak and arrogant and ego driven. Not sure it is sincerely contrite. Seems doubtful.

Just saw his statement. If those are his real feelings and thoughts, it's a big step in the right direction. He's admitting the truth of the accusations, for one. A far cry from the "I'm sorry if I did it but I was drunk" Spacey pseudo-acknowledgment.

Sorry but ck's whole 'what i didn't fully realize was the power dynamic' is total BS.

He's spinning, to be sure, but he IS owning his actions and literally nobody else has done that to this point. So I give him props for it.

ooooo you read venomous. how pissed off are you that he owned it? your beliefs are as shitty as you are

I am super intrigued as to how all this plays out. an apology such as this is unprecedented, no? I see it's not enough for some but nothing ever is, for some. maybe just maybe he's genuinely sorry and learned lesson and won't ever repeat. isn't that what we all want, victims included

Most comedians are indeed dark, troubled little shits but that doesn't excuse being a pathetic sleazebag, a constantly harrassing dork or a common sexual predator.

His letter came off as weasel-worded, self-pitying damage control with a side order of that old virtue signalling that CK has always found hard to resist. Hint, guys. Sex offenders don't get to lecture anyone about morality, ever.

If he really cared a whit about women's feelings, he wouldn't have spent years behaving in a way anyone, even children, know is 100% socially unacceptable. Absolute laugh, claiming he only realized this behavior is wrong in middle age. After being caught. Come on. You're not that stupid and we are not that stupid. You are only contrite now because you were exposed and now your career and cash flow and reputation are all on the line.

I'll give you odds that he'll be back to his old tricks the moment he has the opportunity. He'll maybe just try it in a different location next time.

I think the best thing for all these serial predators and bottom-feeder industry sleazes is simply to fuck off and never darken our screens or stages again. No letters of apology. No whining for pity. Just go and rot somewhere, free from the public attention they so crave and need to function.

I'm wondering: what sort of apology would be acceptable to those who want to banish Louis CK forever? I don't think I've ever seen an apology from a public figure that wasn't overwhelmingly met with disbelief and/or ridicule.

And while we're on the subject of banishment, John Lennon admitted to beating his wife. I would say that beating your wife is worse than jerking off in front of someone. Is it OK to still listen to Beatles albums? William Burroughs shot his wife in the face and killed her. Is it OK to still read "Naked Lunch"?

This notion that we can't enjoy art for what it is without somehow condoning the private behavior of the artist, is facile, naive, and immature. Likewise the notion that someone must be banished from ever again plying their trade because they've done something bad in the past. People grow, they move on.

None apology would ever be acceptable because you can't expect to amend years of harassment in five minutes with a few paragraphs written by your publicist, thinking that an apology will grant you pardon or believing that someone who has ben an abuser for years has suddenly changed because he has been caught is what it is facile, naive, and immature. And is it unreasonable ostracizing someone who is a POS and has used his privileged position to hurt people for years? Are we supposed to keep enabling this people so they can still have the power to fuck up people? Are the Dan Schneider or the Harvey Weinstein of the world entitled to have a clean slate no matter how vile they have been or how damaging have they been to other people when being in a position of power and privilege?
