IF this is Katie Holmes, she (allegedly) left the marriage because of TC's deepening involve-ment with Scientology and the indoctrination that was already starting with Suri...her dad is a lawyer, things like a separation agreement, custody papers for Suri, etc. were already drawn up, they arranged her escape in such a way that TC was totally blindsided and as I recall, there wasn't too much he could do about it...it also helped that she had been deemed by Scientology handlers to be unfriendly? persona-non-grata? whatever it is when they don't want you to be part of their group or for members to associate with you...unfortunately, Suri hasn't had much of a father, a brother (Conor) or sister (Isabelle) as they avoid her since she's not one of "them"...btw, Katie was given A LOT of kudos and credit at the time for handling her escape so brilliantly and slamming TC this way as a lot of people were annoyed by him in general
Cult nut Tom kept the two children he had with Nicole Kidman after the divorce. Guaranteed, the cult wanted Suri also. She would be the poster child for Scientology. Katie paid a huge price for ever having anything to do with Tom Cruise. It cost her her career, and undoubtedly, almost her child.
I remember when Katie told Tom it was over, she called him, he was on a movie set, and she had Suri.
Tom has made Katie pay the price for leaving with Suri by having nothing to do with Suri, except financially. That's why Tom can't find another wife outside that cult. No one will willingly put up with the indoctrination and giving up their children to the cult. That cult is evil.

Matt Lauer did a great interview with Cruise, where Cruise said that Brooke Shields should not take anti depressants for post partum depression. That interview almost cost Cruise his career. That's when everyone knew how deep he was into the cult. He was dropped by Summer Redstone after that. They picked him back up later because Cruise still sold tickets. Cruise never did another sit down interview about his cult beliefs. There is an uneasy truce between Cruise and the American public. He won't talk about Scientology publicly, and the public will pay to see him if he keeps his mouth shut about Scientology.
This is Katie Holmes. Her escape from Tom Cruise and Scientology was slick and sweet. Katie's father is a divorce attorney with access to great private detectives and surveillance equipment so she "killed" it! I'm still hugely impressed with her.
Her father was a lawyer and worried about Tom's socio involvement, so that he writtn up very detailed prenup agreement. That was why Katie's divorce was done so quickly, unlike Nicole's that took obver one year.
Tom has not hurt Katie by not having anything to do with Suri, Tom has hurt his child. Suri will have to live with that the rest of her life. Honestly there is probably a part of Katie that is happy she never has to deal with him again. And someone else was right here in saying he ruined her career. What a mistake she made marrying that kook.

I still want to believe Suri is really Josh Hartnett’s kid... who Katie was dating for a very short time just before she got with TC.

I don’t believe Tom has hurt his child by not being part of her life. There is a point it is better to cut your losses. He would only use Suri as a tool for his “ religion” and against her mother. Many studies have shown kids are better with no relationship than the unpredictable one . There is nothing better for her than to have no relationship with him than this kind. There is not much I care about Holmes for, she knowingly made this deal with the devil ( and luckily had a loving dad who was a divorce lawyer). But she will always get Kudos for saving her daughter and herself. It took real courage with these nurs. Too bad Mrs Miscavige didn’t have that same lifeline
Yes Tom is a kook and Suri is certainly better off without him around but she will still feel it, she will will feel the loss of not having a father and that he chose that nutty cult over her, there is no doubt about that, she is human.
I give Katie no credit for leaving him as she knew exactly what she was marrying into. I mean if we all knew what she was heading into with him and Scio, she knew too.
Assuming this is true, what you're all overlooking is that Tom DID love and want Suri. Deeply, and he's been assed out.
That's my takeaway. He only hurt himself.
I'm not sure how much he loved Suri. He did not put her first and chose his cult over her, no proper parent would do such a thing. I'd do anything to be with my children. His love for scientology was stronger than his love for Suri.
I don't know why people think she knew what she was getting into if that was the case she wouldn't have married someone she thought would hurt her kid. I mean if she's as soulless as people think she is she would've let Tom do whatever he wanted to Suri. Like so many Hollywood parents do with their children and why they're so screwed up...
Course I don't think Suri is Tom's kid to begin with which is why he would have no problems turning her over to someone else. She was Katie's though.

I notice you said the child would be removed. Everyone takes it as meaning removed from wife. I submit to you, child would have been "removed" from this planet, in the form of a sacrifice.
I take it that is what made her ditch him as fast as she did. Suri was approaching the age where the Scios take the child and places the child in an offshore boarding school or something like that, never to be seen again for years.

I will take flack I know but if you really were comfortable in your own skin would you fall for this sh*t? Katie Holmes' father is/was a lawyer and he found an airtight way to get her what she needed and with the type of custody that she would not have to worry about Tom Cruise trying to fight for Suri. She must have had some evidence against Tom, because he hasn't bothered to see his daughter for years. At least she stood a better chance at a more normal life than Tom and Nicole's other kids, who don't seem to be doing all that much. I'm glad that she got out of that marriage with enough benefits to see her through. That must have been some evidence, though.
Suri is Joshua Jackson's kid. Look at pictures of him as a child/teenager. Katie and her longtime boyfriend Chris Klein had broken up. She rebounded with her ex Joshua and got pregnant. He didn't want to be involved. Katie's Catholic, maybe was ready to be a mom. Meanwhile, Tom was casting for a new wife. He met with the Jessicas - Biel and Alba, ScarJo, a couple others and all were creeped out. Next thing you know he's couch jumping on Oprah,proposing in Paris, then announcing pregnancy. Out of wedlock baby seemed off script for Mr. Wholesome's image to me and three marriages never produced a child. Katie's pregnancy was Marklesque. Weird birth certificates and pic until Vanity Fair cover. This is why Suri is basically disowned. She was a prop child for Tom like Katie was a stepford wife until she wasn't.
Omg Suri looks very much like Tom, as if she is Joshua Jacksons child, they look nothing alike. Yes Tom has low self esteem like most actors, so what? I think it's more about being weak or hiding something.

Interesting theory. I think that Suri is Tom's, and the reason the baby came so fast is because they were making sure the pregnancy took. I believe Tom was after a child more than a wife for his public image.
