Charlie Sheen looks pitiful. All of that money and his teeth are rotting and falling out. He was such an attractive young man.

Holy cow, Charlie is the new face of Eau-de-Lucifer!

Diablo Cody has awful fashion sense.

Thanks Amy, saved me the trouble! Can NOT wait for S2!

Mina, exactly what I was thinking. But in a way I like that she doesn't have any.

They just had the premiere for Young Adult? It's been playing here for a week...

Oh, I love me some Downton Abbey! Can't wait for the next season!

(snort) Like The Goopster would ever wear anything from Topshop. It's way too downmarket for her High Goopiness.

I cannot believe how Charlie Sheen has turned out. He used to be so cute back in the 80s.

Did anyone see what Chuck Lorre posted about his feud with Charlie Sheen and the reason he wanted him to seek help and leave the show?

"I didn't want to be writing a sitcom while my friend died... There was a tragedy unfolding right in front of us. There was violence and blackouts. On a certain level, if you're looking the other way, you're responsible... You couldn't do that much cocaine and work. It was falling apart. It was heartbreaking."

I appaulad him for thinking of more than just the money and being at least one person in Hollywood (god knows Martin and Emilio didnt do anything) to actually react off Charlie Sheen's actions with consequences.

Maybe the way people just watched Charlie implode and gawked at him like a wild animal in a cage is part of the reason he is the hot mess he is in the first place. Imagine having an addiction and people treating it as entertainment and doing nothing- must be so fucking hard for the LiLo's and Charlie's and RDJs and Amy Winehouse's to quit.

Oh Jasmin, I love what you wrote, but you are missing a piece of the puzzle: for years on end, Martin Sheen had tried to help Charlie, forced him into rehab, called the cops on him and sent him to prison.

Nothing worked. And finally, you understand that an addict has to admit his addiction, and ask for help. For you cannot force them into rehab.

It was the same with Amy's family, also well documented. Her parents had admitted failure, because of her refusing to get help, and where simply waiting to get the call. Like her father had said after her death: It was simply a matter of when.

But I thank you for Chuck's words, for I really thought he didn't give a shit.

there are a lot of people who give more of a shit about Charlie Sheen than charlie sheen does. Stop blaming family members, there is only so much they can do. Personal responsibility is step number one.

As for Downton Abbey, I could not and did not wait for season 2. I found a place to watch all of the episodes online, then found another place to watch a stream of each new broadcast as it happened on Sunday afternoons (California time). I will miss the Christmas episode, but I will find it somewhere when I get back home. Then I will watch them all over again when PBS shows them in the US starting in January. I am officially an addict but I saw the twitter chaos during the S2 finale and I know that I am not alone.

Rita- I didnt know that about Martin trying to help Charlie in the past, thanks for letting me know.

As for Mitch Winehouse- Im still on the fence about him for some reason- he's been doing the whole publicity thang ala Michael Lohan since before Amy died.

Plus, afterall, she was famous first for the Rehab song where she professed her dad told her she didnt have to go to rehab, if you recall. I dunno- I've heard he had his head conveniently buried in the sand and never really realized the full extent of her problems- even at the end he and his oblivious wife thought Amy died from complications to being sober so long or something ridiculous. I think he's used Amy for fame in a small way like Michael Lohan did. I dont trust him or his bullshit Amy book.

Oh-oh, Kobe Bryant's wife just filed for divorce. Apparently, he cheated too much.

There is not enough space for me to insert laughter, and duh.

@Jasmin - no problem. You can google Martin Sheen, who truly actually caused his son to go to jail. and his son thanking him for years later.

As for Amy's father, maybe he is now cashing in. But about a year ago, he and his wife looked really heartbroken, and submitting to the fact that one day they would receive a call announcing their daughter's death. People change. Money changes people too.

I like Martin Sheen so much! He is a fine actor and a great man. He never went the Hollyweird route and dumped his wife of many years. He tried and still tries with Charlie as does Emilio with Charlie. There is only so much anyone can do.

Please allow me to offer a little bit of a correction about Amy Winehouse and her father, from a fairly reliable source in the UK that I can't name. I won't be offended if you doubt me since it's the internet and I'm being vague.

Her parents did try to help her. It's possible they did get through to her because she did get off the drugs and she had been clean for over a year. Unfortunately, she did not stop drinking and it was the long term alcohol use that probably killed her. Her record company was also still trying to help, right up until the end. I don't know the term but apparently she would stop drinking for a few days or even a week or two, then she would binge and drink again for a week or two. Then step, then start again. Then stop, then start again. And so on. That's why they knew it was a matter of when not if. The record company knew, her management knew, everyone. All they could do was keep showing up, be there for her, and hope she would finally say, in one of her coherent moments, 'help me'. She never did.

Charlie Sheen looks like a ghoul.

Kinda OT but I'd love to get a then/now shot of he and Jennifer Grey when they're in the police station at the end of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. They'd both be unrecognizable.

I wish I could get loads of free swag carried to my car in the rain for being an entitled snot a la Gwynnie.

@Rita - why do you insist on spelling Jasmine's name without the "e"?

@NYER You can just make out Liberty Island in the fog. Project a line straight up(south) from the first row of office towers on the Jersey side. You will see Ellis Island and just to the south of that you will see a small brown smudge that is Liberty. Staten Island is the light brown smudge across the horizon of the picture.

This is a fabulous picture. Unfortunately it reminds me of the times I was in the old towers and the view. The view was always pretty on a clear day when you thought you could see forever; but they were the most beautiful with low broken cloud like this picture.

I gotta chime in, because I love RDJ and he DID quit. Let's not lump him in with the others, huh?

Otherwise, I know where you're coming from. :-)
