Things on my mind -and then if you read it all I will give you some updates on people and some hints as well as a new shorter blind item --

So there has been a great deal of commenting about the blind items. Here are some clarifications and explanations and whatever other words you want to use.

First, you need to remember they are blind items. They are blind items for a reason. Take yesterday’s blind item for example. There is nothing holding me back from revealing RR and BB’s names except for the fact I do not want to see BB hurt anymore than she was. As far as I know about ten people know the whole story and that is the way it is going to stay. RR is an ass and I do not care if he gets hurt, but if I give out his name, then BB gets hurt because people will put two and two together. Many of the blind items would also hurt one side or the other and I am just not going to do that.

Another example would be the kindness from last week. The person in question did not want any publicity. I did ask her if it would be alright if I mentioned it and she agreed as long as she got to read it first. I let her and she made a change or two and let me post it. As far as the jackass item of last week, my friend did not want to be revealed and I agreed. I do not hurt my friends.

I am not blogging to make anyone’s life miserable. I am blogging because I wanted to try it and felt I had some things I wanted to share. I have no other motive for my blog. I do not run ads and think I am about the only one who does not. I am not trying to get a movie deal or book deal or any other deal. I am not here to make anyone miserable or to expose their flaws and misdeeds to the world except in a way that allows people to gain a new perspective on Hollywood and what I deal with on a daily basis. The blog does take a great deal of time and is definitely making my workdays longer. Because of that, I try and just post twice daily at about 930am PST and noon PST. If I see something cool like the video from yesterday then I will post it because I want to share it not because I want to increase traffic to the site.

I do not really change dates or places at all in the blind items with the exception of the MV story. If I use the term a couple or several then I mean couple or several in the same way that anyone else would use that term. Unless someone shares a story with me, none of the events in the blog happened more than about ten years ago and in that case I would say about ten years. I am very careful about the words I use which is one of the reasons the blind items take so much time. Look at the Vixen blind item. I said as far as I know she is not married. I know she was not married at the time the events happened. After the events happened I do not usually keep up with that person’s life. I do not go to IMDB to check on every detail post event. It turns out Vixen has married but I only know this because I went and checked.

I increased the font size on the blog and might increase it just a touch more, but then the letters become distorted. If you click the workfriendly button then the entire blog transforms into something similar to a word document. It not only makes it look like you are working, but also will ease the strain on your eyes.

Some updates and hints -

"Meth" is doing great. She was the one who told me about the dentist. She is happy because her ex and the 20 year old broke up. Meth is actually in pre-production on aa film and it is her biggest part in years.

The client who did the cop a "favor" is still strung out on crack but has managed to avoid being busted. She has a new bf who knows nothing about the crack. He however is really rich and middle aged and cannot believe his luck that a "famous hottie" (her words not mine) is attracted to him.

The first kindness item in which the actress crossed the highway to help the woman with the baby–The actress in question called me after reading it and said she did it more out of anger that other people were not helping than anything else. She just could not believe people could just not do anything. She also said that the stares she gave people as she crossed the highway was the reason people finally started to help and not because she was attractive. She does not consider herself "anything special."

The first Jackass has a new album coming out. He will also be on tour in Europe throughout the spring. Enjoy.

The punisherz are still incredible and just wrote a new song. They want to tour Japan in the New Year.

A&P the adopting for the sake of adopting couple are still not really working. For those who do not think you cannot be blackballed in Hollywood think again.

The gay B lister who came into my office after the NPH situation did decide to accept the movie role. It is a monster role which will make him a star. He said it was ok to tell everyone he took the part. He just wants to leave the role a mystery "for now."

The guy who made the 15 year old pregnant. I really have no news of the girl. As far as the guy goes, he does not work much. The last thing I would hope for is that he become popular again.

The pap who was watching the house is STILL watching. As far as I know he has been there for over a month. He is waiting for one picture which will be worth about two years of taking regular pictures.

I will go over the rest later this week, including the smaller blind items.

Here is a new blind item for you -

This B list movie star (in Academy Award nominated movies) claims he is a US citizen. In actuality he is an illegal immigrant who is deathly afraid of being pulled over while driving. He also has angered producers because he cannot leave the country to promote the movies he is in. If he leaves the country he will not be allowed back in. His excuse is that he is afraid to fly. He loves acting but at the same time wants to quit because he is afraid that with attention comes the chance someone will reveal his true situation. Because he entered the country illegally he cannot just marry someone for a green card and so he waits every day for the knock at the door.

i may still have my doubts (you look like a fab viral campaign) but i still hereby declare my slavish devotion anyway. is there any chance you would ever do an "ask a legal question" of the week/month feature? definitions of defamation are one thing, but broadstroke tips on divorce, what to do if you get pulled over in a vehicle going down the wrong side of the freeway, etc. would be toooooooooo fab. anyway, it's just a thought and doesn't matter much - i'll always read you anyway.

heart heart heart

I am happy to answer legal questions, but the best way to do that is in an e-mail. I did provide some info when Perez got sued and wrote a little about divorce whrn the Brit-K-Fed thing started. The problem with giving generic legal advice is that I have to use a disclaimer and I know I am safe answering federal questions and California law, but other than that, it would be very general. For example, CA is a community property state and so is most of the 9th Circuit, but much of the rest of the country is not.

That is why e-mail is best for a specific question.

Hey EntL, I enjoy your site and take it for what it is - enjoyment.
Don't even bother with those that complain about this or that. You'll probably never be able to please them. Leave the color alone, the font, the font size, the periods, the blah blah blah.

Love ya,
mean it!

Benicio Del Toro? He has quite a few projects down the line, but he always seems to shy away from a lot of publicity, thus keeping his status somewhat b-rated.

I've yet to have my morning tea, so that's my lazy answer. If I think of a good one, I'll post later.

Dano.

Pap: Ben Evenstad?
Hunted: ??

Anonymous said...

Sorry Dano, but for the illegal immigrant, it couldn't be Benicio. I visited the set of a movie he filmed here in Vancouver in the mid 1990's.

I'm trying to think, too, but I'm even less bright-eyed and bushy-tailed than you after the 10 hour flight I had yesterday...

Anonymous said...

Oh, and one more thing.

These little, what shall we call them, 'justification' pieces that you keep posting about how you're legit and all of that? Those are a big turn off on a blog such as this one and will drive down traffic overall after it's beefed up numbers in the short term.

Stop printing them. It takes time away from what is good about your blog and reduces you to begging (just an impression). If people are suspicious, then just let them stay that way, but don't let it be any of your concern. It's negative for your brand image, as it were.

Oh, and the 'updates' piece was actually a pretty nifty feature. I'd like to see that become a regular section if it isn't already.

Dano.

Anonymous said...

You're less bright eyed an' bushy tailed then me, hez? I doubt it, or I seriously want to trade places; crazy nights become painful days.

Dano.

Anonymous said...

Dano I agree.

ent lawyer said...

Dano, I agree with what you said about it taking away from the good which is why it was intended to be one last post in that format. Everyone can just refer to it in the future and I do not have to deal with it. From now on it is take it or leave it.

that blind item sounds like a good premise for a script

Again not enough information to go on, it could be anyone. I would love to tell Lou Dobbs about this guy!

Seriously how hard is it to fill out the proper paperwork when you have access to money and lawyers?

Anonymous said...

Benicio- I personally know someone who had quite a fun filled night with him while shooting the "Hunted", in Portland OR...They said he was kinda sleazy/greasy, but it was good times... I wouldn't kick him outta bed ;-)

Anonymous said...

thx, EL! i promise not to abuse your generosity and to keep my eyes & ears peeled for items here in NYC to give you. and if you're ever here in manhattan, martinis on me.

Thanks for another day of entertaining reading. I love your kindness stories, the last one almost made me tear up... and made my day.

Anonymous said...

i'm still worried about Meth's kids. she may be happy, but are they ok?

Anonymous said...

You may want to link your stories to your updates.

Anonymous said...

^ Ya that would really help if you could post links but I know you're busy. I love your site, keep it up!!

I'm worried about the girlfriend that is getting beat up.

Don't you have a moral obligation?

Just curious.

btw...you can't say who "L" is even though she has passed away? :)

Anonymous said...

I'm very pleased that the gay B-lister took that role in that movie. Good for him!!

(Is it Wentworth Miller?)

Anonymous said...

Meme: Whether there's a moral obligation, that's something the paparazzi will have to take up with god--or whatever moral code he lives by. (But he can't be that driven by morals considering he stalks people for a living.)

As far as I know, there is no legal obligation to report a crime in California (but you should ask EL, he's the lawyer). If there is a legal obligation, the penalty would be incredibly minor (like $100 fine or something). Not much of an incentive to call the police if you're risking losing a major cash payout for the photographs.

There was this whole controversy over this issue about 10 years ago when a UC Berkeley student witnessed his friend raping and strangling to death a seven-year-old girl in a bathroom in Las Vegas. The student did nothing to stop or report the incident, but b/c he had not technically been complicit, he couldn't be charged with anything. And of course there was the famous case of Kitty Genovese, where over 30 people in an apartment building witnessed her being raped and murdered, yet not one called the police.

This is understandably upsetting, indeed shocking to most people's moral sensibility--but the justification for NOT passing laws making failure to rescue a serious crime is that we'd rather not have the government telling us what we HAVE to do, just what we are PROHIBITED from doing. Any punishment for failure to do an affirmative act will be nominal. (Unless it's not paying your taxes, then you'd better watch out, Mr. Snipes.)

^Thank you. Should be interesting how this is viewed when/if it gets revealed.

EL - please don't say the rocker is Eric Clapton. He is touring Europe in Spring/Summer 07

Anonymous said...

Sorry - it's not Eric Clapton! Wrong tour dates. :(

Phew.

Anonymous said...

How about?

"Bruce Springsteen has announced European concert dates in conjunction with the release of 'We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions.' "

GGA said...

Thank you voice of reason - yeah I've been dying to say that all day. I read the Kitty Genovese story in Wikipedia and I find it fascinating. People really cannot care less.

I was walking down Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood about a month ago and I was hit by a car. No one stopped to help me. I asked a man to call 911 and he did and then he finally gave me his number as a witness. Luckily, I wasn't hurt bad because no one would care. People in LA are so self-absorbed that they cannot see beyond themselves.

Anonymous said...

I also think it's interesting that the only opposition I've heard to laws like this ("duty to rescue/report") have come from rather rugged, libertarian type men, and the only victims of the five or six terrible incidents I've read about of this nature have been women or girls. I've always thought the opposition was derived from the desire to turn a blind eye to violence against women.

But GGA, my fellow Bostonian, you raise a good point. People are just self-absorbed. That's why nobody helped you when you were HIT BY A CAR (how awful, I hope you're ok) and nobody helped the woman by the side of the road except EL's friend. And that's also why the few of us who aren't too self absorbed to lend a hand can't understand why what we do is praiseworthy instead of just normal.

EL I hope you, in your capacity as an adviser, told your client to report.

GGA said...

Voice of Reason,

We must have been raised right, and I agree that you may be onto something about society accepting violence against women. Now bare with me on this on, and not that I condone this, I am just making a point.

When Michael Richards called some blacks the n-word, everyone got up in arms about it. What about when an n-word calls a woman a bitch or a ho? Do people get upset about it? No, because racism is upacceptable, but sexism is tolerated.

Anonymous said...

Regarding the lack of "moral sensibility" being discussed: It is scientifically proven that bystanders are likely to not help in emergency situations. From Wikipedia: "bystander apathy is a psychological phenomenon in which someone is less likely to intervene in an emergency situation when others are present than when he is alone." This concept has been researched by psychologists and is known as diffusion of responsibility since bystanders think that someone else will help so they don't have to. My point is that it is not all that uncommon and we should not judge others as being bastards for not helping.

Anonymous said...

GGA--

I don't see that as a race/gender distinction. I think maybe it's more that it's easy to get up in arms once it's too late to do something. Does the video reveal anyone at the club stepping up to do something? To the contrary, people are laughing (albeit nervously) right up to the end.

I guess the reason I think the duty-to-rescue issue is about gender is b/c things like domestic abuse and rape are unmentionable (many victims feel silenced). I think there's a silent sphere condoning the private matter of violence against women. I think that racism tends to be more public, b/c it more often occurs between strangers.

But I'm going to shut up now, b/c getting too serious ruins the blog for those out to have a good time--and hot topics like racism and sexism can get out of control fairly quickly.

The photographer in question is not suffering from that particular problem, because he's consulted EL for advice about reporting. He's just afraid of losing his glamor shot! I feel that there's a right to be judgmental of a person making the conscious choice not to report as opposed to people who suffer from "deer in headlights" syndrome. There's a difference between willful disregard of danger to others and simply feeling helpless.

Love your blog and thanks for more hints. :)

Not only am I loving the last 2 entries (as usual), but I'm also enjoying the discussion in the comments today!
EL you really do brighten my day with your kindness posts. And you tell things in such a unique perspective! It's quite refreshing, really.

So thank you :)

So long as gay movie guy doesn't go engage a turkey baster with a peitri dish, then jump off the couch into a staged gala wedding, sue left right and center if 'said word' is ever mentioned then all power to him in or out of the closet, privately or publicly. Some folk will never be able to come out - I think thats the issue with some. They've made such drama over such allegations, been poorly managed and all their antics is seen to support mythology in a homophobic society and hinders other efforts for a equal society with no second class citizens. Should truth ever be known they'd be maligned from both sides of the fence and probably the fence itself lol. Would love to know how a PR team would work that one should it happen. Pity to them. Greatful for every gay or straight celebrity that has held a dignified response when allegations arise whether they choose to come out or not or are infact straight . Never pays to discriminate whatsoever we all have to deal with each other at some point regardless of nastionality, religion, race, gender or sexuality.(just had to get that off my chest!... carry on as you were lol.)

Anonymous said...

Aw, screw all the haters and those who don't believe you. I'm pretty sure you're telling the truth, but if you weren't, it's still entertaining nontheless. Whether some Hollywood gossip is true or not isn't going to affect my life, so long as it's entertainment and I have fun guessing, who cares, right?

Thanks for making my work day a little less boring :)

Anonymous said...

I so love your sight!!! Don't waste your time and energy answering to every negative response that you get.

I will say that for today's blind item I am going to say John Corbett?

Let's start focusing on the items at hand. Too much getting of the topic.....

Who is SHE? that helped that lady and shot stares at the people who didn't. I want to know so I can become a fan!jkjk. Please tell me!! What if I emailed you for the answer? Would you let me know? I wont tell anyone.

Anonymous said...

As far as blind items go, sometimes I think it really doesn't matter who the subjects are -- it's just the nature of reading it that puts it right up there on the guilty pleasures list next to soap operas.

As to random kindness, I'd like to thank the guy who stuck near my car last month and phoned my sister when it flipped and rolled across the Los Feliz exit in Los Angeles. He was there the instant I came to a stop & hung out until the LAFD finally arrived to get me out.

Ryan Gosling.

I certainly didn't mean to get all serious in a celebrity blog. It's just that something similiar happened to me and I can relate to it. No more sexism and racism talk for today. Do all you sugar tits agree?

Anonymous said...

for the kind model/actress what about Pam Anderson? She has some new products coming out called Glam Pam Products....

Anonymous said...

oh yes, and I think the first kindness act was Evangeline Lilly. She is new to TV and was always a tomboy and has taken auto repair classes in the past. For the Vixen I think it is Yasmine Bleeth because she has been arrested for drugs before and she was quite famous during "Baywatch" but hasn't really done much since.

It's all me GGA--I'm like a black cloud of seriousness raining on celebrity shenanigans!

Now that BB has passed away, can RR's name be given a better hint?

Unknown said...

I know it's old, but I have to reply. You said you don't want BB to get hurt, but the way you gave details it's pretty easy to find out at least the group. On the other hand, there is almost no way to guess who is the guy. It could be ANYBODY. Of course blind items are blind for a reason, but when the guy writing the gossip knows his shit he usually give way more info so the people can be 99% SURE wihout the name. The "but if I give out his name, then BB gets hurt because people will put two and two together" is a huge lie. Nobody here knows the name of any Korean singer and I doubt anybody care or can put two and two together on this.

I don't care how old this is. but I can't believe that no on even said anything. Benico del Toro is a fucking U.S. citizen by way of being born in Puerto Rico. He is PR which means that, PR being a US territory,he does not need a passport to come in and out of American. He is for all intents and purposes, just as American as you and me.

Okay done.

Unknown said...

I'm reading this in 2018. Benicio Del Toro was born in the USA, since Puerto Rico is one of out territories.
