Elizabeth Taylor Is The Best

I am not going to judge the friendship of Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor. Their friendship is between them and obviously there was a lot of love between the two. Shortly after Michael was found dead, Dame Elizabeth released a statement where she talked about Michael and her love for him. She was so emotional about it that several tabloids went ahead and made the claim that she was on suicide watch because she couldn't handle the grief or pain.

Umm, have they met Elizabeth Taylor? This is a woman who has been in constant pain since she was a teenager. She is 77 years old now and Michael is not the first person she has known who has died. Liz Taylor is one tough person. I'm sure she was grief stricken but this isn't a woman who is going to commit suicide over it. Please.

Well adding fuel to the tabloid reports, Elizabeth tweeted about an upcoming hospital visit this week. I know she isn't the one doing the actual tweeting but she knows what it is and I can tell she loves it.

"I wanted you my friends to know that I'm going into the hospital Wednesday or Thursday to complete a test I was in the middle of."

And then to show you that Liz is Liz and doesn't take crap from anyone she added this tweet a little later.

"Although my grief over Michael could not be any deeper, I am not on suicide watch as some of the cheaper 'rags' would have you believe."

I love this lady.

She's always been one of my favorites.

What I really love about her is that she's recently been spotted rolling into The Abbey (a famous gay club in West Hollywood) for a martini every once in a while ... ok, hello? Whose grandma does that?!

Why couldn't she have done that when I frequented The Abbey with my gay boyfriends a few years ago?

whenever the question of "if you could go out to dinner with any celebrity, who would it be?" has come up my answer is always Liz Taylor.

Just imagine the stories she must have and candor with which she would tell them.

I remember reading an article about her once, about how when she was wearing her huge Krupp diamond a waitress was admiring it, and La Liz took it off and handed it to the waitress, saying "here, try it on." I thought that was so cool - you could tell by the gesture she wasn't pretentious at all. I always said if I could have a fantasy dinner party she'd be the guest of honor - would LOVE to hear some of the stories you just know she's got tucked away in her history!!!

i think i've read more "Liz Taylor on suicide watch" headlines in the supermarket than... well, anything. that was in the 80's though, before Al Gore invented the internet.

But kudos to her. She should hire me as her tweeter. And pay me 6 figures :D that would be awesome.

Please Liz has too much class to off herself. She has lost too many people over the years just to cash it all in over MJ. I know she loved him but that's nuts.

She is great. I'd love to be able to talk to her just to hear her old Hollywood stories. She's one great Dame.

she is a class act. i caught the oprah/MJ special from 93 when she was on for a brief minute and talking about michael, she just believed in him so much and it was sweet to see. i agree i'm not going to talk about their relationship either, who knows, but regardless she is an amazing lady not afraid to speak her mind.

let me add, what ever test she is in for, let's hope things turn out well.
the thing about chronic pain, is as long as you have HOPE for relief, you have life. and sometimes it makes you stronger. so i'd never have believed she was suicidal.
