Michael Jackson's Doctor To Be Charged With Involuntary Manslaughter
Michael Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray is facing an involuntary manslaughter charge. Well, almost anyway. Apparently prosecutors are going to try and prosecutors the doctor on a theory of gross negligence. They will still have to get an indictment against him which is usually pretty easy to do. In this case though I'm not sure they will actually get the indictment and I think the odds of convicting him are really long. The doctor administered the drug to Michael, but the thing is, he was allowed to do it so don't be surprised if this just costs the taxpayers of Los Angeles millions in costs and then not getting anything for it. I really would be surprised if the doctor did any kind of jail time.

as evil as he is for giving michael the drugs, we have to consider the fact that if he hadn't, michael surely would have gotten them somewhere else.
i DEFINITELY think the dr. SHOULD be charged and his license yanked, don't get me wrong, but mj was ultimately responsible for his own addiction as well and we can't forget that, imo.
The best punishment for this doctor would be to take his license away. Even though Michael wanted the drug it was up to the doctor to decide what was right or wrong.
first of all, california baffles me. why did this take so damn long? everything in the court system out there takes forever.
nothing's going to happen to this quack. they'll take months, reach some dumb ass agreement, and he'll be back to being a dangerous physician, which means he'll be popular and successful with the drug abusers out there.
This won't stick. Even if he loses his license, he'll be the celeb go to guy for a fix. People with money will always find a way around the system and people like him will cash in.
Well...I guess it depends on who is on the jury...same as the people who acquitted MJ on the child molestation charges???
Unfortunately, I agree with Enty on this one.
It's going to be a long drawn out circus, with the blame eventually ending up on MJ and the Dr portrayed as his unwitting accomplice. Dr will get a slap on the wrist, keep his license and then have a waiting list of celebrity clients because they'll all recognize him as a " 'scrip Dr" ... no questions asked and no drug unavailable if you have the $$ and the fame.
My Mother used to go to a Dr. In New Orleans who would give her whatever she wanted. (She had severe back problems.) She used to call him Dr. Feel Good.
This may be unpopular, but I can't find it in myself to come down too hard on this guy...I suspect he is the fall guy for a tangled, galactic web of medicine men who were giving Mr. Jackson...pretty much what he asked for. Unethical? Perhaps, but I find bigger fault with the person who seeks anesthesia for..recreational use.
Take his license away...not sure how i feel about major jail time? How about LOTS of fines and community service?
I can see him losing his license to practice medicine (if he does, indeed, have one). But I don't see that this is a homicide anyway. MJ chose to do the drugs. Had this guy not given them to him, someone else would have. In the end, it's MJ's responsibility. And this is no different than Elvis Presley (who turns 75 today) or Jimi Hendrix or Janis Joplin or any of the other dozens of musicians who died of overdoses, except that they had more talent.
