Andy Cohen Beats Conan And Chelsea - Gives Himself 5 Nights A Week

One perk about being the boss of all programming at a network is that you can give yourself a greenlight. Andy Cohen has been hosting What What Happens Live on Sundays and Mondays and is now going to expand it to five nights a week, but it will be a Sunday - Thursday gig. That way he gets Friday and Saturday nights off. Not a bad gig if you can get it. Even if I am not interested in a season of a show, I am always ready to watch his show on Sunday and Monday nights. It is fast, entertaining and packs a whole lot in to that half hour. He has been so good that he beats Conan O'Brien and Chelsea Handler. I just hope he sticks to the 30 minute format.

The downside for Andy? Although he will be in charge of Real Housewives and Top Chef, he will be giving up the supervision of the other shows. Except for the art show, most of their other shows no one watches anyway so I am not sure that is really going to cause him a lot of sleepless nights.

Oh, one note about last night's show. As much crap as I give Ellen Barkin about not being able to move when she poses for photos, she was pretty funny last night, and much like one person who asked her, I think she is usually drunk when she Tweets, despite what she claimed last night.

ITA, Enty, the 30 minute format is just right. It's a cute, funny, little show. I hope Any doesn't get greedy. The random pairing of guests doesn't always work, but Andy does a good job interviewing.

Ellen has a charmed life, working actor, marries multi billonaire sells all the jewelry he gave her after the divorce.

Now is dating Barry Levinson's son Sam. Barry directed her in Diner in 1982.

she is 57 Sam is 26.

Haven't watched his show, but honestly, I don't think it's that hard to beat Chelsea. As for Conan, sorry, I never was on that train. The quirkiest think on my plate lately is bouillabaise.

too much of a good thing, but love andy.

An hour would be WAY too long. Agreed.

I wish Bravo picked up Braxton Family Values.

He really gets on my nerves, but I still watch it for the guests. This wasn't Ellen Barkin's first time on the show, she was hilarious last time. Last night though, she seemed a little off, and I'm not sure but I think it might have been something to do with the other guest. He is in some Broadway show I think and he just was way off with his comments and jokes. Made things awkward. And I think that threw Ellen off. Like when they played that game where she was supposed to say the first thing that came to her mind when Andy gave her a word, and Andy said "Taylor Swift" and Ellen said "Auto-tune". Andy gives her "Justin Beiber" and Ellen wanted to know which category he was, singing, dancing, or acting, because she didn't know, but then said he shouldn't have cut his hair. So she knows about him enough to know about his hair, but not that he is a singer? Ehh... next show will be better. Sorry for the ramble.

Andy gets on my nerves, too, Princess.

I'm actually quite shocked that he beats Conan. That's facinating, IMHO.

LOVE Andy Cohen and love the show! I have it DVR'd so even when I'm not watching that night's spotlight show, I usually watch WWHL. Didn't see last night's show yet, so will have something to look forward to tonight.

Love Andy Cohen, but I'm disturbed by his obsession with Jiggy.

Love Andy Cohen. I look forward to his run-down of the RH after the episode airs. Haven't seen last nights episode yet (have it DVR'd) but will watch tonight. 5 nights should be fine (for the his fans) as long as he stays with the current 1/2 hour format.

Is this really due to Andy's entertainment value, which IMAO is tenuous at best and almost entirely dependent on the quality of the guest, or is it more a function of the decline in viewership of the other late night selections?

I adore Andy and wish he was my gay BFF. He is funny, charming and a bit silly. Love the games, love his parents. The show used to be on 3 or 4 nights a week so no problem. Ellen Barkin was the perfect guest. I loved ho she psychoanalyzed the cast. She was on point about Kyle. Recap please.

if andy is looking for longevity he should stick to the 3-4 nights a week. that way, better quality and people AND the wont jump the shark....it is QUALITY people NOT quantity!
30 show is a good format too

I love Andy Cohen & WWHL but I'm not sure about having it on 5 nights a week. It will depend heavily on the guests.
