Blind Items Revealed

February 11, 2014

This A list celeb/reality star had such a long list of demands before she would agree to attend a show that the designer had to assign a person just to deal with the celeb. I guess they think the person is worth it. Yes, they have a couple of shows, but it isn't like she ever looks that great when she is on the red carpet.

If you showed me her picture I still wouldn't know who she is so she is not A list anything.

GENERAL PIECE OF ME COMMENTS:
Every Britney Spears fan needs to see Piece of Me. It's exactly what it teases- a short and sweet medley of Brit's best hits throughout her career. You won't get the live vocal performances or dance routines that other "A list" pop singers like Bey or even Gaga can bring, but the opulence and detail paid to this mega production is truly spectacular. The show was tailored to the t by Planet Hollywood, which often allows for a superior and more individually customized production, than say, Monster's Ball, which had to be transported from venue to venue. The show as a whole was wonderful.

However, Brit clearly is not singing live and her dancing is not stellar, but it's such a fun show, most didn't seem bothered. Piece of Me featured an impressive collection of Brit's best career hits, but none of them were sung in full or with any really outstanding new arrangements.

Aside from the more specific memories described in more detail below, I still have a souvenir cup, Bertneeey booty shorts and a suitcase full of clothes that smell like casino and have mysterious glitter everywhere. Laundry time!!! XoXo

Thanks for the review! Good to hear it was an enjoyable 90 minutes.

Another reveal that shows how messed up the fashion industry is. Why any intelligent woman would give a shit about what this bitch wears or what designers she likes is mind boggling.

***HEISENREVIEW: PIECE OF ME REVIEW WITH SPECIFIC SPOILERS***

*Count down clock until show time started 20 minutes until showtime, which opens with a SUPER cute video montage of Brit's rise to fame and an overview of her hit moments
*Great energy for Work Bitch as the opener, it mashed well into the next track, Womanizer, but I would've rather heard a more recent dance number like (Drop Dead) Beautiful or even If You Seek Amy, but I digress...
*Appropriately, 3 was third. I actually love 3. Most underrated pop anthem about group sex eva!!

*The second set opens with Brit towering in a magnificent angel gown. This was the most beautiful, serene and just visually stunning part of the production, and it was hard to beat Toxic (set 7) let me tell you... Literally angel Brit flying in the air singing Everytime in a snowy winter wonderland. It was very Edward Scissorhands meets LV pop princess, and it can melt even the hardest of HeisenHearts! (The show was worth it for this moment and Toxic ALONE. Google these clips if you please, they are both lovely performances). This was followed by a medley of Baby One More Time and Oops I Did It Again. I would've loved to see Born to Make You Happy too. I'm sad that didn't make the cut.

*The third set was a more lull chunk: Me Against the Music, Gimme More, Break the Ice and Piece of Me. However, it was redeemed a bit by Me Against the Music, which was really the only song where Brit was actually DANCING- like, a well rehearsed and executed real dance number. My friend even joked that she would love to be Brit, because she just pranced around the stage for the other songs while throwing the occasional elbows and high kicks. The backup dancers were amazing and literally carried her through 90% of the routines it seemed. It was a bit sad because Brit could really dance back in her heyday. We all get older I suppose (sad face). I would've also cut the lackluster Gimme More, but the titular Piece of Me was a great midway centerpiece. It felt kind of prophetic and fit well.

*The fourth set was the weakest, and felt a bit disjointed and contrived. It was nice to blend into Scream and Shout, fully equipped with a full screen Will.i.am hologram. That was mandatory fare just for the IT'S BRITNEY BITCH! The crowd went nuts then. "Boys" felt kind of out of place next, and even more so after being followed by the ballad Perfume, which seemed like it came out of nowhere. It almost felt like a deliberate effort to hawk her fragrances to be honest. Which are all sold at the official Britney ph store! ;) It was WAS cute though, but a few favorite and superior tracks like Sometimes(!!!!) were omitted. Just sayin...

*From here, Brit went hard until close, which was very appreciated. Set 5 featured SFrom here, Brit went hard until close, which was very appreciated. Set 5 featured Slave 4U, Freakshow, and Do Somethin (should've been replaced with something more like My Prerogative). Freakshow was rad- the most interactive part and the only time I cannot deny Brit's mic was on! Brit reveled at all the sexy boys n girls in the audience, brought up a guy named Mark to dance. Mark put on the leather daddy gear and they all freakishly writhed around the stage. Whipping fools, crawling around and dry jumping for days!!! HeisenLikey!!!

*Set 6 was my second favorite. Circus was fucking amazing with the acrobatics, pyrotechnics, dancing, stunts, and design etc. - it's a Britney Vegas Circus extravaganza! She emerges on a ring of fire and the energy fits perfectly with the vibe of the show and city. It's not Pink or Motley Crüe level acrobatics or anything, but a fun pop of fun nevertheless. I Wanna Go and the closing track are my top picks from Femme Fatale and they fit in seamlessly in the last stretches here. I Wanna Go included a really intriguing and introspective depiction of the double bind that women face with femininity, social constraints, and sexuality- as Brit sings into a series of mirrors. This point was driven home even harder like a battering ram by merging into Lucky. It was chillingly autobiographical and just lovely. Brit's alone, sitting. Very simple yet stunningly effective in its execution. When you think about how the world hypersexualized that poor teen and consider the level of fame Brit achieved so young, her breakdown was truly inevitable.

*Obviously, the final set 7(!!!!) ;) was my favorite overall. It opened with this trippy forest backdrop. Brit emerges on a giant mossy boulder and you think you've woken up in Ferngully until you hear a broken down slow version of Toxic echoing through in all of its deconstructed eerie glory. JayZ once said Toxic will always be the best Brit song and I couldn't agree more. Plus, one of my friends who died from an OD used to have it as his ringtone. Toxic is very sentimental and still haunts me in a perfect way to this day, and this performance was just breath taking. Next came Stronger and Crazy. Great way to wrap it up with old school classics and leave me pining for more of this...

*The "encore" was just perfect- a mashup of Till the World Ends and Work Bitch. Overall, so much fucking fun, an exquisite and visually gorgeous production, and truly a MUST for anyone who grew up on Brit!!!. LOVE!!!

I guess if you are going just to see her its worthwhile. Not if you're going to see a concert. She still has an aura that she is a huge star even if she isn't.

Lady Heisenberg said...

Exactly @sandy. Piece of Me milks that nostalgia-rama just right ;)

A twenty-something coworker saw Brit recently and loved it. I can understand the lip syncing, but I wonder why she doesn't dance like she used to?

@LadyH.
What an awesome review, thanks for sharing. And I'm very impressed at your memory. I mean, WOW. I think I would have recalled that it opened with Work Betch and then I'd be stumped....foggy.
You brought it gooood.

Was the line made for plus size Over-the-hill Strippers?

@LadyH----cool story bro. Jokes---that's awesome you had a fun time.

Has anyone seen Nenes fashion line? We are talkin 70 dollar grey track pants. GREY TRACKPANTS.

Tina Mallette said...

Yes if she is lip synching she has no excuse not to go all out in the dancing but maybe she can't memorize choreography anymore or doesn't want to.

I'd save my money and go see some real talent at one of the other hotels worth the money they charge or hit any of the bars in the casinos in Vegas, many have high quality cover bands who can really sing and play instruments and it costs you nada.

Lady Heisenberg said...

Thanks y'all! I can't say I'm bummed I missed 90 minutes of this, so I'll thank the pre-recorded vocals :D

Its just U said...

@Lady H I'm so jealous!! I love Britney. Always have and always will. I would love to see that show. I don't care if she lip synchs. You go to see the show, not for the vocal talent. I'm so pleased you enjoyed it (even if I am seething with envy).

Wow, thanks for the review! Almost missed it tho, don't usually read this far down on HW blinds. Wish you had sent it to Enty with pics! Would love to get a glimpse but won't be going to Vegas any time soon. Glad you had a great time - and won at slots!! Thanks again!

Circus is my favorite Britney song.
Oh and ahs. Circus freak show starts tomorrow. .

Why bother with the likes of her? I'd get the Property Brothers instead. Drew could wear a designer suit and Jonathan will be there in his jeans & tool belt incase the runway malfunctions. Win / Win.

We saw her in the Spring..the show is a lot of fun but our was ruined by this girl screaming BRITNEY>>>SING LUCKY>>>> the whole entire concert...even after she sang lucky she started shouting SING IT AGAIN....that and the two couples in front of me (both male female) where the one guy was trying very hard to pick up the other guy....it was amusing.

I heard a few years ago that Britney hurt her knee and was unable to dance the way she used to. It was said that this was what contributed to her breakdown.

NeNe was one of Trump's Celebrity Apprentice candidates a few years ago. Very opinionated & mouthy but nothing compared to mega-lunatic Omorosa. Heard Nene ended up as a RH of Atlanta. Somewhere along the way she became a platinum blonde which is kind of an odd look for a middle-aged slightly pudgy AfricanAmetican.
