If you watch an award show, do you prefer the show or the red carpet more?

Red Carpet, the shows are normally snoozefests.

I prefer the smug, arrogant Hollywood elites STFU. No one gives a shit what you think. I didn't watch if thankfully.

Couldn't agree more@Simon!
Despite that ,I still prefer the program because I love film. Also-the legitimacy of the Red Carpet left the building with Elvis a long time ago. With people like Kris Pimp Jenner kissing ass and acting like Hollywood elite,Kristin Cavalerri with the personality of belvetya cheese and that trick Karrueche doing commentary,it's just painful to watch.... say what you will about Seacrest and Giuliani even, but they do their job well and are skilled out at.Pretty sure I heard Karrueche say"that's dope yo"regarding someone's dress... mighta been Nicole K's

I don't watch anything anymore when it comes to award shoes. So tired of these actors and actresses and their political views. I mean they get paid to entertain us, not give us their political opinions. 98% of Hollywood shouldn't talk since they are cheats, drug addicts, alcoholics, narcissist, etc. This is a case of Pot calling Kettle.....

The red carpet but only when Joan Rivers did it. Now, it's stupid and boring and no surprises.

If I watch anything, it's the Red Carpet. I'm burned out on celebrities congratulating themselves & each other in a continuous stream of award shows. It's cringe-worthy.
Not red carpet interviews, just the clothes.

As I've grown older, I now just watch bad sci-fi movies that were directed by legendary directors. They have become more interesting to me!

=)

If I had to watch any of that crapfest, it would be like the Clockwork Orange bloke had to watch those videos, and in that case I wouldn't mind.

Both. I like the clothes. SJP may have loved her dress, but it looked too weddingly for my tastes.

I look at the clothes in the papers the next day. From all reports about last night Hwood is still in the grieving stage abt the election.

I never watch awards shows anymore because I don't know any of the movies/plays/TV shows/song. I never watch red carpet shows anymore because the stars have no taste in clothing. (The men are marginally better, but only because their options are more limited. At least half of them still manage to look awful.)

Neither. FFS. #PartyPooper

I'd rather watch planner videos on YouTube.

Scandi Sanskrit said...

LOL. Which titles?

Yeah, like the simpleton ones who say simplistic shit like, "fuck politicians." And I'm like, "I bet you've never had to make a difficult decision in your life that concerned the welfare and rights of others/the general public." Some people are just that self-centered and that self-involved. All the do is bitch and moan and whine about their privileged lives, but then talk crap about politicians.

Don't bitch and whine about the difficult decisions politicians have to make about the refugee crisis when the "hardest" decision you've ever made in your life was which Oscar-bait script you were offered is the bigger Oscar-bait.

That's the exact opposite from me. There is nothing more boring than watching people parade around on a carpet.

Apparently you think no one is entitled to an opinion, except perhaps yourself, and definitely not if they don't agree with your particular POV.

I think Simon is talking about people who are out-of-touch and live in a bubble. Meryl Streep doesn't count because she actually talks about actors from underprivileged backgrounds and I thought she was eloquent in elaborating what pissed her off about people having a the privilege of having a public podium but attacked someone who doesn't. She also spoke about the contribution of foreigners.

But it can be annoying as FUCK when people bitch and moan and whine about people who make difficult decisions that concerns the welfare of many people. My maternal grandparents were in politics, and so is my father. I'm an actress. And it annoys the shit out of me when these simpleton actors bitch and whine and say simplistic shit like "fuck politicians", weee. When they can't even do an awards campaign right. Selfish, self-involved pricks.

Hollywood is boring and irrelevant. It's only a matter of time before they are all replaced with virtual actors who work for free, don't age and don't have political opinions.

Simon said...

All right, scandi! Love that passion. Hollywood lives in their pampered bubble and they don't understand lives of us peasants.

Simon said...

Not true. I'd be unhappy if some actor got up and trashed Obama for 10 minutes. Inappropriate. Not a matter of political viewpoint at all. It's I'm sick of elites with their big speeches to us minions. Obama has taken a lot of criticism but lucky for him the Hollywood idiots love him.

Simon said...

Agree with those points, Tricia.

I would also point out her JOB is actress with a responsibility to promote her movies and ensure largest box office draw and profits. Republicans buy movie tickets too, so just bad judgement all the way around. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, just my 2 cents. Cheers!

I agree with Kelly. Why doesn't Hollywood clean its' own house first like doing something about the pedophiles in the industry? Also it is hard to take seriously someone like Leo D lecturing about climate change while he flies on a private airplane and hangs out on yachts. GMAFB.
