This is why you don't give into your partner when you really want a child and they do not. Ellen deprived the person she supposedly loved, of the most important life experience there is, only to divorce when it's too late. She's a vile piece of shit narcissist, and I hope Portia finds true happiness, while Ellen ends up alone.

Portia was recently in Africa for the Gorilla charity, she set up on behalf of Ellen.

@snaremymind, not buying it either because Ellen just splashed out $27 Million on another Montecito CA mansion a month ago. Selling and buying is what she's always done, and a purchase that recent and expensive doesn't spell breakup to me.

I think Ellen just likes buying and selling houses.
So what if Ellen is selling houses, Portia and Ellen have been married for over 10years so the community property law kicks in. Even if Ellen was planning a divorce the proceeds from these sales would be considered joint marriage assets. She certainly can't hide them, the sales are on public record, you can't hid the sale price it has to be declared in your taxes and there would be a whole string of people from estate agents to the buyers and banks who would know the figures which would be revealed in any legal 'discovery'

Ellen did a segment on her show years ago, about how a hobby of hers was interior design, and how that developed into a love for full fledged home remodeling / renovation. She has purchased and remodeled many homes with Portia since. They buy, remodel, then sell.

Portia always struck me as gay for pay. On the other hand, Ellen has written "lesbian" all over her.
