I Would Love To Hear What Britney Spears Has To Say

If you believe Jamie Spears and everything he says or does, then you can understand why he is spending massive amounts of Britney Spears' money to keep Sam Lufti away from her. Yesterday was another day in the hearing to determine whether Sam Lufti is going to have to continue staying away from Britney, or if he can get that restraining order lifted and have contact with her. The last time the two sides were in court we heard all about the cell phone that was confiscated from Britney's purse. Well yesterday, Sam Lufti's sister testified that she was the person who snuck the phone to Britney.

According to Christina Lufti, Britney called Christina in mid January asking for her help and for a phone. Britney arranged with Christina where to meet and the phone was handed over to Britney in a hotel sauna. January is only a couple of months ago. I'm assuming that Britney is taking her medication or whatever else she is supposed to be doing and yet she is still reaching out to Sam and to Adnan and to Christina. Why is she doing that? Well, according to one lawyer it is because Britney feels like she is in prison which she has said before.

On the other hand, Britney's former lawyer Blair Berk testified that Britney wanted Sam put in jail for what he was doing to her. At this point I don't know what is true and what isn't. What I would love to have happen is for a judge to rule that Britney is competent enough to testify about what she thinks and feels because right now we just have Jamie vs Sam.

Jamie brought Britney back from the edge of self-destruction. I'm not arguing with that at all. I am wondering though if the public self-destruction has just been traded for some private self-destruction we can't see and that the end result will be the same. If someone feels they are in jail and will never get out no matter what they do, that has to lead to frustration or resignation or an explosion.

The next date of the hearing is April 21.

I think Britney needs someone to help her stand up for her own rights, but Sam Lufti sure as hell isn't that person. Isn't there some way the courts can assign her an impartial advocate?

I can definitely see where frustration would lie. She's 27 and can't make her own decisions or her own life. But she's not ready to do it completely on her own just yet. And Sam Lufti and Adnan need to go away. I hate them they clearly have ill intentions.

I think Britney is looking for a quick escape because she feels so confined. Maybe she sees Sam as the quickest way to get that, not necessarily because she wants him back in her life. It keeps getting more interesting.

She does have a court appointed attorney that is on her dad's side.

Ironic that during her childhood and teen years she obviously was able to do whatever the hell she wanted with no parenting and no boundaries whatsoever by her parents, and now as an adult she's finally being "parented" and treated like a child.
I feel sorry for her. I really do.

I was thinking more along the lines of a mental health professional than an attorney, but she'd probably just end up with someone like Dr. Phil. :(

talk about a double-edged sword. i wish papa spears had done more parenting when brit-brit was 17. well, better late than never...except for all the damage done in the interim. it's sad britney appears to fluctuate emotionally in "getting it" that sam lufti and adnan are toxic to her life and emotional well-being. i hope the best for her, i truly do.

juicy, I hadn't really thought of her situation in that light. I feel sorry for her, too. She was raised in the limelight and served as a breadwinner for her family. Combine that with bipolar disorder..come on, that's gotta blow. :(

she may be 27 but her mental maturity is about 16...we've all seen the choices she made when she was on her own, and even if she's on medication , most bi-polars stop taking the meds - they seem to like the manic stage too much...so she'd probably relapse worse than she was before.

Plus, I thought she had a court appointed attorney and doctors that have been continuously evaluating her progress. It's not her dad just forcing this stuff on her. They've had a lot of professionals coming in an evaluating her and that's why the court has appointed her dad over her affairs. Doctors, lawyers and the courts agree she is not able to handle her own affairs. It is sad and I would think would be a very lonely life.

I was under the impression that her parents WERE extremely controlling when she was a kid, which is why she went so over the top and started acting out (Vegas marriage), then getting married to K-Fed and all that ensued.
Lots women that get married to free themselves from controlling parents (real or imagined control).
Her parents didn't guide her to become responsible and have boundaries.
I would hope she'd be given another chance to function on her own, though.
Jamie and Sam represent two sides of the same messed up coin.
I don't like Britney as a performer at ALL, but I do feel sorry for her.

all part of her illness, and I wouldn't assume that she allways takes her meds.

I feel for Britney and her situation, I really do. I'm sure it is suffocating to have her life so tightly controlled and her only outlets to be "free" are her concerts. Like another commenter wrote, she clearly has not and can't make clear decisions on her own and Lufti and Adnan certainly would not be acting in her best interests. Honestly, she is very lucky to have her father so involved and seemingly acting in her best interests. Look at what's happened to Lindsay Lohan - with two whack-job parents who are as messed up as she is, and can't do a single thing to help their daughter. Britney is very lucky and hopefully, someday, she will be mature enough to thank her father for saving her life.

if she didn't have her dad acting as conservator, she would have never regained custody, period.
she needs to take it like a women and STFU already.

I agree w/ Jax. Tough shit, Brit.

i still say if bi-polar is ALL she is, she is severely bi-polar. which means she probably will never have a "normal" life. and as canadachick said, most of them stop taking their meds at one (or several) point(s) in their lives.
there's no way to be certain that she's taking her meds each and every dose right now. compliance is a huge, HUGE problem with BPD (been there, done that).
i believe in my heart there's some schizo-affective disorder mixed in there. often both disorders present at the same time, sometimes depression and BPD do.
because she's worth so much money, the courts got involved. i feel awful for her, too, but i also wonder how jamie feels-- is there some guilt there? i still feel guilt, and my kid wasn't worth millions. and he wasn't as far gone as she is.

i would co-sign on the "private self-destruction" thing, in fact i've been thinking that for a while now.

what must that feel like? having everyone around you push you to the verge of insanity/death and because of it, you're no longer allowed to live like an adult indefinitely. it's like a prisoner on death row- i'd feel like i have nothing else to lose.

she's clearly being blackmailed, here. i can't even say jamies done anything more than put her career back together. sure we don't see her shaving her head in public anymore, but we haven't seen her do anything positive, either. hell, she's even acting wacky on her tour right now. that's difficult to support. not because of her, but because of her handlers. she's human and should be given another chance at life on her own. /rant
