Whoa! What did Gayle do to get more famous than Oprah?! What have I been doing that I missed this news?!
Why just because they are besties do they automatically have to be gay?? I loved on the OPrah Behind the Scenes Shows when they did the camping trip and her final episode she addressed it and even Stedman sort of addressed it... They're soul mates in a different way. I believe the romantic love and respect between her and stedman and I also believe the completely non-sexual love and respect between her and Gayle.
The gay rumour is so silly and for what i can only assume are the gossip aficiando's on Cdan to still be throwing that rumour around is surprising.

I can name three female talk show hosts off the top of my head (Oprah, Ellen, and Chelsea, who's in her mid-30s, not pushing 60, folks), so I can't help, but I can't begin to fathom what Gayle's done to make herself more famous than Gayle.

I think the wording of the blind is pretty clear, personally. The subject has a "more famous BFF." It does NOT say that the subject is more famous than the BFF.
Also, Gayle and Oprah have been rumored to sleep in the same bed -- not just the same suite -- when they travel. Together. Extensively. If Oprah professes to be heterosexual, it might be a ruse to fend off the portion of her fanbase who'd be weirded out if she were to suddenly emerge from the closet. I don't understand why that isn't a plausible scenario. She's no dummy, and no one on earth can claim she's not media savvy.
And if *I* were Stedman, I'd be itching to put a ring on it -- especially if I could wriggle my way out of a prenup. ;-) Their relationship has always struck me as one of convenience, personally.
