Donald Driver Wins Dancing With The Stars
I honestly did not expect Donald Driver to win Dancing With The Stars but I'm so happy he did. I thought Katherine Jenkins was perfect but didn't think she would get the audience votes, so thought William Levy probably had the best shot. Donald was such an underdog each week but the guy brought it and his story is so touching and I think as more and more people learned about him and his past and what he has done to overcome that past, the more people grew attached to him and started voting for him. I'm ecstatic he won but I think Katherine was pretty flawless the whole way. I was not a fan of William or his past so glad he didn't win.

I'm glad Donald Driver won too. I thought Katherine had a sloppy freestyle performance and did NOT deserve that perfect 30. Glad to see Donald finally got a 10 from Len. Well deserved. His performances were nearly flawless compared to some of the very obvious screw-ups from Katherine and William that were constantly overlooked by the judges.
I want to hear more about Levy and his past...!
My gf and I don't talk every day, but we are always on the phone when they announce the winner. Not a Packer fan, but I have known what a good guy and team player Donald was for years. I was rooting for this top 3, but I thought Katherine was the best and William would get the Latin vote. Then I finally saw Donald's backstory and heard about his incredible wife, so he got my vote. I have not seen a competitor (notice, I did not say contestant) ever want the trophy so badly! I am so glad he won - but his baby girl wasn't as impressed, poor thing - all that noise and excitement - probably long past night night time...lol

If I am not mistaken, Enty is referring to Levy having had several run ins with the law particularly in the sexual assualt/date raping of women.
So happy it went down the way it did. I love Katherine and think she is amazing and the most consistent. After Donald's freestyle though he should have won. The letch Levi played the sexy loyal publicity. Almost threw up when it showed his kids and their mom. People ate it up, but if they had any sense they would know he is not a one woman man.

I am a huge Donald Driver fan so I was really thrilled for him. I am so happy to be done watching the show but still very happy for him. He is a great person, a great competitor and really wanted to win. I'm glad for his partner, too. She is really a great dancer.
BTW, I saw mistakes in Katherine's freestyle dance, too. I am really not a good judge of dancing but I figure if I could see it, the judges should have been able to, too!

@Little Miss Smoke and Mirrors - Donald Driver is a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers. He is beloved in Wisconsin because he overcame adversity (homeless as a child, sold drugs as a teen) to become a champion not only in his playing style but in his personality. He does a lot for charity.

Didn't he also take a pay cut that he also volunteered for last year? I know he did something very honorable. Team loves the guy too, not just the fans. Hope his head doesn't get too big now - heard Hines let the "mirror ball" go to his head - or was it just all the women who never watched NFL and finally knew who he was? Lol
Maria should've won, but I called Donald as the victor weeks ago. I like him and it's fine, but he wasn't the best dancer IMO.
Yay Quickie!!!!! I'm so thrilled. It's bittersweet though. There's a very strong possibility Double D won't be a Packer next year. :-( I don't want to see him play for any other team. Maybe he'll just retire as a Packer and go on to do the DWTS All-Star season??
Everybody in Wisconsin adores Donald. He's done a lot for the community and he's got personality to spare. He's an incredibly humble guy ... we love all our Packers but Donald Driver has always been a particular fan favorite.
I'm with selenakyle. It's really annoying that they're not at the side of the page.
Is it only me or were those 10's inflated? I thought it was such a joke how they all were getting 10's when there were obvious flaws.
I didn't like Levy either. And they need to dump that Brooke Burke-"charvet".
I was soooo happy Donald won. He was by far the best dancer and performer. The others seemed to be helped along by the judges scoring. I think the judges adore Mark, Derek and to a degree, Cheryl and judge accordingly. Derek always seems to get the most dance capable partners and never a 65 year old woman!
I'm glad Donald won. Katherine made a huge mistake in her number, missed a hand hold and twirled into nothingness with her arms outstretched till Derek got a hold of her again.
I agree with @Sasha about the pros that are liked by the judges. Derek oversteps and makes it about him a lot tho'.
I thought Levy was just smarmy the whole season.

I was beyond thrilled, have been voting for them since they started, never voted for anyone else and couldn't understand why they were always 'underscored' by the judges!!
I was actually at the Finale taping last night. Everyone thought Levy was going to win and were shocked when Donald won. Donald was a gracious champ and his family delightful! His kids were sitting in the judges chairs before the show went live. The whole experience was awesome.
I didn't watch the show all season, but I watched the replay of the Monday finale last night and I wanted Donald to win. He's such a beast, and yet incredibly cute and fun at the same time. I love natural charm like that. I've never seen anyone so damn happy to win as he was. I just laugh every time I see his winning moment, running around the studio and rolling on the dance floor. Classic.
As for the other two couples, Cheryl and Mark both make the same mistake in choreography, in my opinion, they put themselves out front too much. Cheryl did that to Gilles a few seasons ago, he just stood there in his freestyle while she danced and shimmied around him, and might have cost him. Mark did the same last night, his steps outshone Katherine and made her mistake kind of glaring. Mark won with Kristi and Shawn Johnson because he matched steps with them.
I hope they get good competitors for the all star show.

You can't see the titles of the posts any more, but you can find a specific post by using the search box on the right. The top one will search within CDaN. I pulled for Driver the whole way although i didn't watch much of the show. Anyway, i was thrilled last night when he won. What he's done with his life is so impressive!
Mooshki, When you search on CDAN, will it only pull up names that appear in the 'Labels' section, or is the whole CDAN text searched?
Like some others, i'm not happy w/o the Archives listed on the left although it was taking up a lot of space. For instance, if i want to go back to the run-up to the Oscars, can i search through a certain time frame, or will i have to search for people whose names were probably included in the Labels?
