Last night was the AFI tribute to Shirley MacLaine and lots of celebrities came out to help her celebrate. Katherine Heigl was there too. Low blow? Aww, she knows I like her now that she has got more humble.

That hair on katherine whatever, she ruined her own carrer n now shes desperate for some work. Like enty says many times NEVER leave a hit show ride it while it last.
I thought Katherine Heigl was so adorable and fresh-faced in Knocked Up, so it always surprises me when I see her photographed in what I feel are matronly clothes and hair styles. I still like her though, and didn't hold a lot of the stuff she said in the press against her.
Jen Aniston can do no wrong in my book with her style. I love her red carpet looks, as well as her about-town getups. Love love love.
Agree with the rest of you - - Melanie looks absolutely lovely. I definitely see how much she looks like her mother here, and I feel she is finally dressing age appropriately. Gorgeous!

I love Aniston's look/dress last night. She usually nails it, IMO.
Aniston looks great and it's good that she's talking to Melanie and not acting above her. Wouldn't you want to be in a room with all those guys in your old age - just something sweet about it even if they did all sleep with each other.

I think Julia looks really good here. No matter how awful she is, my gut reaction is still that I like her. I like her stupid laugh too. I may have a genuine illness or something, I think.
Shirley's a kook, but I'll always love her for The Apartment. And Guarding Tess (this could also be a part of the aforementioned illness.)

Shirley MacLaine has had some fun parts in her older years but I liked Albert Brooks having her introduce the "Past Lives Pavilion" in Defending Your Life. They get to see their previous lives - Meryl Streep was Prince Valiant while Albert Brooks was eaten by natives.

I also love Jennifer Aniston's style. I don't think I've ever seen her wear anything awful. I wish I could wear white but my skin colour would challenge it.

@Anita Yes, now I see what you mean regarding Melanie. The whole notion of plastic surgery just makes me so sad. I remember when I was in my 20's, I wanted to gather the female population and say STOP MESSIN WITH THE BEWBS!! Where I live in Southern CA, if you did not have that round ball boob (about 10 years ago) you were rarely considered sexy. I thank Kate Hudson for bringing us flatties back into the limelight. Same thing with aging now that I'm about to hit the big 4-0. I know I will never do botox/fillers etc, so of course I wish I could once again call the Chick Meeting and say "Can we all just give this aging naturally thing a go?" It will never happen, but I hate seeing lovely people turning themselves into Barbie dolls :/

Am I the only one who thinks JA's dress looks bad on the back? It should either be lower or higher not stuck across the middle like that. As for her hair, if we all spent so much money on it ours would look great too.

Kate Upton is very pretty. I cannot believe Victoria's Secret wants nothing to do with her. She seems just their type.
Sunny, I'm getting up there myself and I tried doing the aging gracefully thing to the point of cutting off my coloured hair. My grey didn't look terrible to me, it looked like silver highlights that some people go pay to get put in. Several friends did not like the idea when I prepared them and for just over a year I had grey hair with constant reminders of how much younger I'd look if I coloured it. I told them I was old so why not look it, what was the big deal? Truth be told I hated that grow out stripe at the roots. I caved in last week and coloured it with one of those dyes that washes out over time, I think it accentuates my wrinkles but everyone who has to look at me seems to prefer it.
I would hate to be someone who was a gorgeous actress in my youth like Melanie and have to mess with my face, etc. Too much pressure, besides her mother doesn't seem to have had anything done and she looks great for her age so that must have bothered her too.

I agree with the plastic surgery comments. Here, you don't see many people who have excessive amounts done. I recently saw a girl with boobs up to there, lips and face done, hair extensions, and incredibly skinny 'in the wild' for the first time in my life. In a street full of 'normal', unaltered people, she looked ridiculous.
Heigl needs to fire her hair stylist AND her makeup artist.

@Black Cat. I'm kind of a hair color nerd, in that the topic interests me far more than it should for someone that didn't go into that field. That being said, you know what looks good on you, so just politely ignore your friends' pleas. I'm sure there is some goofy reason why they want you darker, but I say rock the silver. My best friend in the world has made it pretty clear she likes my hair better blonde, but I finally went back to my natural color and absolutely love it. I've jokingly told her she's a brunette snob, as she does not find a single non-blonde celebrity attractive. Can you imagine? By the way, if your hair is still dark now, try tweaking your make-up a little bit. I had to soften mine because the darker hair color did seem to make some of my features look harsher. Now I play up my eyes, bust out the bronzer but keep a more subtle lip. Just a suggestion if you care about that type of girly stuff
