Her body in those costumes...WOW! People could barely kiss onscreen back then, Esther must have been almost soft core porn for those times!
She was beautiful and healthy looking not skin and bones.
ReplyDeleteI loved watching her movies when I home sick as a kid.
If you get a chance to watch one of her interviews DO IT, she was a class act.
RIP, Hollywood's Mermaid!
ReplyDeleteRIP, Ms. Williams.
ReplyDeleteI will always have the memories of watching her movies with my mom. Hopefully I can pass that on to my daughter.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, one of the greats. Glad she had a long life; hope it was filled with happiness. As a girl, raised by a mom who loves Classic Hollywood, I watched many of her movies. They were among my favorite musicals - what a production!
ReplyDeleteAnd she got to bed Fernando Lamas.
ReplyDeleteRIP.
ReplyDeleteI like hearing news of people dying when it's someone who lived a long life, full and happy as far as is known. In these situations, it can be a celebration of a good life, rather than mourning, y'know? Ditto for Jean Stapleton last week.
ReplyDeleteWhat Figgy said. 91 is pretty good, nice work Mrs. Williams.
ReplyDeleteI remember watching her movies with my Grandma. Grandma loved Ester Williams.
ReplyDeleteAw damn. Another one of the greats gone!
ReplyDeleteRest in Peace Esther - you were more than just a bathing beauty, you were a truly talented actress and a true Hollywood star.
Swim to the light, esther, swim to the light! Cldnt resist. Rest in peace, nice lady:)
ReplyDeleteI loved watching Esther's movies. She was so beautiful and an amazing athlete. I read her autobiography when it came out, she led quite an interesting life. RIP.
ReplyDeleteShe's very beautiful and I think it's just the angle, but my goodness her feet look quite large in this picture. RIP.
ReplyDeleteShe was such a gorgeous woman. No photoshop, plastic surgery or veneers, just sheer, natural beauty and talent.
ReplyDeleteI used to watch those old movies with my grandmother. Loved the ones with Ms. Williams, because they were beautiful, as was she.
