Blind Item #3

This at the time about 30 year old B-/C+ list mostly television actress who is generally in the B range depending if she has a show on the air or not took the virginity of this at the time 16 year old A list mostly television actor who still has A list name recognition. It happened when she guest starred on his show.

Why hasn't this been reported to the authorities?

Frankie Muniz - can't find a guest star at right age seasons 2-3

HannahBanana said...

Betch better watch it. If someone wanted to they could get her put in jail! Especially being famous, u have a lot more to lose than the average person. I can't imagine partaking in the high risk behavior some of these celebs engage in. WTF?!?!? All that money....& still, they can't help themselves.

mrjack said...

Merrin Dungey?

angie said...

If the actor didn't want to take it to the authorities (and that's highly likely) there isn't a case to pursue.

mrjack said...

12 years ago when she was last on the show FM would've been turning 16 in December 2001 so maybe she waited a few months?

Pinkstrawbz said...

Initial thought was Frankie Muniz. The wording of the blind makes me think it was 10+ ago and I'm not sure how many actors on Glee are actually under the age of 25 ;)

Julie Shackett said...

All of the Glee actors were 18+ when hired so it can't be any of them. The youngest was Chris colfer at 19

steph said...

Joseph Gordon Levitt was around 15-16 during the first season of Third Rock from the Sun, in 1996.

Lauren Graham would be roughly 29-30 when she guest starred during the first season of Third Rock from the Sun, in 1996.

jane3113 said...

I was thinking one of the boys from Freaks and Geeks or That Seventies Show. Shows with younger actors that a female may actually want to sleep with. But the TSS gang were all legal age and F&G didn't really have mostly TV guest star actresses. I can't picture any grown woman wanting to have sex with Frankie Muniz.

^ But someone else can check my math.

This makes me sad if that's the case. Makes more sense though than my original guess.

auntliddy said...

God, can't anyone act decently? Is it SO difficult????

HannahBanana said...

Apparently not. Especially in hollyweird

mrjack said...

Ok so now I'm convinced - The last episode than Merrin Dungey was in (apart from a one off in 2004) aired almost 12 years ago to this day on Nov 11 2001. He turned 16 on Dec 5. He probably had a party with the whole cast and that's when it probably happened. She would have been invited, she was in it for 5 episodes that season. She played his best friend's mum, Kitty Kenarban. Apparently when she left at the end of the season, the character left her husband and run off to be a porn star.

mrjack said...

JGL fits the timeline but he's not a former mostly television actor who "still" has A list name recognition. He's an A/B+ list movie star now.

MsWool said...

16 is tacky but not illegal

Megan said...

16 is legal age of consent in my state, as well as some others. Not every state requires an 18th birthday for sex with someone over 18, and if a lot of time has passed then there's be no point in alerting any authorities (especially if it's not the possible victim nor someone from his family reporting). Tacky, certainly, and could change my opinion on someone definitely, but not the worst of the worst.

mrjack said...

Age of consent is 18 in California and as she was more than 3 years older, it is a felony.

I'm from the UK where it is 16 for everyone and that's seems fine to me but whatever.

DontRainOnMyPrada said...

What about two and a half men? Angus T Jones and Denise Richards. ;)

Whatzmyname said...

Losing your virginity at 16 is normal for boys. Cant understand why in the US they give you a drivers license at 16(!) but having sex is a felony? Strange.

mrjack said...

Angus T Jones wishes. He had just turned 16 4 years ago when Denise Richards was 38. Also was he ever considered an A list TV actor even though his show was A list? He is suck a fucked up peanut now. I hope he goes away never to return.

Squeezebox said...

Yuh know -- just about everybody drinks before they reach legal age, and an awful lot of those kids were supplied the booze by adults.

And yet, we do not get out the pitchforks over underage drinking.

This country STILL has a problem with sex. You'd think after all these years the current generation would understand that sex isn't evil, isn't awful, and won't warp or destroy you - even if you choose (no force, no coercion) to engage in it when you're underage.

It is wrong? Yes. Is it illegal? Yes. Is it stupid? With an adult, hell, yes. BUT. . . if the kid is a teenager, and if there was no force or coercion involved, there will most likely be no lasting harm as result. Just like underage drinking.

It doesn't make it right. I'm NOT saying that. I'm just saying that there is an age range (teens) where, like underage drinking, the kids are likely to be curious and want to try it, and if that's a choice THEY made, it's not going to permanently damage them to do so.

It's still illegal. It's still stupid. It's still something they shouldn't do. Just like they shouldn't be smoking and drinking and riding around after curfew.

Honestly, a situation like this calls for eye-rolling at the stupidity involved (because it could result in criminal charges) but not outrage on behalf of the kid, who very likely was an enthusiastic participant.

So says me, who at the age of fifteen tracked down and seduced a thirty-five year old guy so I could find out what sex was like. It was fun! Over the years, we've run into each other and had encore performances and it's still fun.
I wasn't damaged. But yes, we were BOTH idiots to do it when I was underage. (Lucky for me, the age of consent was lowered the following year, so we could hook up legally after that.)

mrjack said...

Also he was only 10 when she guest starred.

mrjack said...

@Squeezebox - I agree with you, I lost it at 14 with another 14 year old and then had sex with a 25 year old at 15. I was the pursued in the first case (I was scared) but the pursuer in the second case (I was horny). America's got a puritanical bug up its arse about sex. If it weren't for HBO, I don't know where you'd all be. Saying that most states (not California) have a age proximity exception to the law so to 16 year olds can get it on like they should be able to.

I wonder if it was Kirk Cameron -- maybe that's why he became so religious.

Kirk Cameron was 16 27 years ago so we'd be looking for a guest star that is now still a B list working TV actress who is 57. I just looked at the list of guest stars on there wiki page and none there fit.

Count Jerkula said...

I don't know what states give you driver's licenses at 16, except restricted farm licenses. In NJ you gotta jump through hoops to get your license at 17 now, and it is restricted.

You can bone a 16 year old though, which is probably better in theory than reality. I wouldn't want to bone any chick until she's gotten about 2 years of stick time in. I'm too old to bother teaching teachin intro classes, I'm only interested in pupils ready for an advanced course.

CriticalPeach said...

Losing your virginity at 16 and being a boy- I see no problem....age of consent in Britain. You Americans take things so seriously!

Pip said...

That's a pretty broad generalization of Americans, mrjack.

WareCat said...

i guess if all american girls didn't get boned @ 14, we're all sum frigid bitches, Pip.

mrjack said...

OK Pip, you're right. All American's are different obviously and have different personal attitudes towards sex but institutionally it seems like a much bigger deal than here in the UK for example. In a country of 60 million, not one school is allowed to teach abstinence only as a method of contraception. Sex education begins at around 10 and continues throughout school as part of the national curriculum. Sex and nudity are shown on free to air TV (like network TV) and films that contain a lot of sex/nudity are rated 18 and shown in cinemas. In the US, if a film has an NC-17 rating, most cinemas won't show it and most video stores like blockbuster (when they existed) wouldn't carry it. Do you see that I'm getting at?

mrjack said...

Yeah Warecat, because that's exactly what I called you. Way to put words into my mouth.

Unknown said...

@Mr Jack -- yeah I don't see any notable guest stars on Growing Pains at first glance....,

WareCat said...

but u did state that w/out HBO, Americans wld be clueless about sex.
so, shld i start watching Girls to make me a better sex partner? yes, American censorship is fucked up, but not all Americans need tv shows to learn how to fuck mrjack.

Kelly said...

@Count I got mine at 16 no problem in NV. My daughter got hers last year at 16 here in NC no problem. I thought all states were 16. Huh.
Hers was restricted till 9pm for the first six months, but that was it.

0_0 said...

Count, every state I've heard of issues DLs at 16. I'm surprised at Jersey (You from Jersey? What exit?)

Some states are tacking on months where the licenses are limited. I don't see how that will help, it's usually a reaction to some terrible accident where a carload of kids dies because of ALCOHOL.

Unknown said...

16 in Minnesota -- 6 months with restrictions - no driving between 12:00am and 5:00am -- no more than one additition passenger under the age of 18 excluding family members.

mrjack said...

Oh sit down will you. It was a joke... Are you a regular here because you're jumping down my throat for nothing. I'm sure there is lots of fun to be made at the Brits expense and I wouldn't take offence. And for the record, I have no interest in how you learned to "fuck".

AJ said...

Life long NJ resident here.

Back when I was 16 you got a normal DL but about -/+10 years ago, NJ got super strict. It's basically a permit at 16, than a provisional license and than an actual DL. Most kids don't have full DL privileges until 17/18 depending on when they started the process.

Count Jerkula said...

@Warecat: Only thing to learn about sex from Girls is how to play the Quiet Game.

@Reno and 0_0: Nah, even when I was a kid, and you could get your CDL at 18, you had to be 17 to get a license unless you lived/worked on a farm, and you drove a farm vehicle on farm business.

Now, at 17 when you get your license, you can't drive past a certain time and you can't have more than 1 person under 18 in your car at any time. I think they require you to take a behind the wheel driving course too.

Count Jerkula said...

You're so insensitive!" Just stop being so serious. He left New York cause of their lack of sense of humour...

& i also have nothing against Brits.

Count Jerkula said...

How old are you AJ? I'm 38 and I couldn't get my license until I was 17, back in 1992. I've lived in NJ since kindergarten.

th47 said...

I was thinking Jenny McCarthy for the actress, and she guest starred on an episode of Home Improvement in 1999 when she was 27. Zachery Ty Bryan or Jonathan Taylor Thomas would almost work for the actors, as they were both 17 when the episode aired but could have been 16 when it was filmed depending on the filming schedule.

AJ said...

@Count 33 but I didn't get my license until I was 17 bc of the way our Drivers Ed classes were set up. That not having the desire to drive something that could destroy & kill.

I was more meek in my teens.

I just feel like I knew people who went to my school & had their shiny new cars waiting in the parking lot the day of the 16th birth year.

Or maybe I'm just 30+ and my memory is going :-)

mrjack said...

I'm not making assumptions. I spend half my life there for work. And you just proved my point, education about responsibility and protection is key (which is a problem in many schools in the US) But in England, it doesn't seem fair to stop a perfectly healthy 16 year old (who might be out working a full time job as we leave school at 16) from doing what comes naturally by threatening the parties involved with prosecution. If you want to intervene as a parent, fine, but 16 year olds aren't babies.

You're the one being rude and I'm done with you.

mrjack said...

Could be TH47. It does say "about" 30 and it sounds like something she would have done back then at least.

WareCat said...

the only young actors that wld still have A list name recognition i can think of, is Doogie Howser MD. & Johnny Galecki.

lucky guy. that would be a great time to lose the boy cherry.

HannahBanana said...

My only point really, is that if this was 16 yr old girl & a 30 yr old man, I think more ppl would be outraged. But because it's a woman who is the predator....somehow that's ok. I just don't instantly go for the double standard.

That said, I didn't want to have sex with a 16 yr old virgin.....EVER. That couldn't of lasted more than a millisecond at best.....why would a grown woman want to mess with that?

malcam said...

I was thinking Jason Bateman either on Valerie on towards the end of Silver Spoons. I couldn't find an actress that fit, and the dates are slightly off, but i don't know how different film dates are from air dates.

I'm also from the UK, worth noting we have one of the highest pregnancy rates in Europe.
With all the over sexualising of children and young boys committing rape I find it odd that if you think 16 is too young you need to lighten up. A lot of 16 year olds, especially boys aren't very mature, don't have a lot of empathy. I was 18 when I lost my virginity because that's when I was emotionally and mentally ready. It's hard because the law has to put a limit on it but it should be about when you are ready to understand all the implications, with someone who matters and if people think 16 is too young don't tell them they need to lighten up.

Anonymous said...

Sorry I meant highest teenage pregnancy rates!!!

Melissa said...

Nooo, two sixteen year olds having sex would be absolutely fine to the authorities. It's when someone older who should know better sleeps with someone 16 that it's a problem. Why? Because it fucks with the kid's head, or can. Get your facts straight

WareCat said...

see!
char knows wats up!
*cheers*

Unknown said...

I thought if Fred Savage too -- but no guest stars that would fit.....

mrjack said...

@Char - I never said the UK was perfect or tell anyone to lighten up about teenagers having sex. I said it shouldn't be criminal for 16 year olds although I realise it's an arbitrary line. I realise we have a high teenage pregnancy rate for a developed country but at 25 births to mothers aged 15 to 19 per 1000 compared to the US's 41 that's somewhat better, correct? The fact is it is a problem in both countries especially among poorer and immigrant communities where it is on the rise. My point is we should be doing more in the way of education by talking about sexuality to teenagers, talking to them about contraception and STDs not sweeping it all under the rug by teaching abstinence only as some religious people advocate. Teenagers have and will always have sex without their parents knowledge or consent. It shouldn't be criminalised up to the age of 18 in my opinion as that is far to late and sex should never be a taboo or immoral subject when it is healthy and natural and kids obviously need more education.

bellaluna said...

For some reason, Jenny McCarthy comes to mind.

Jenny McCarthy sounds like a good guess on the actress....

mrjack said...

Warecat - Thanks. I'm sorry for making a sweeping statement about Americans, trying to be funny and failing. I obviously know it's a huge country that has people with all sorts of ideologies and beliefs. As you can tell I'm not very religious and it bothers me when I see religion interfering with state policy. It bothers me here in the UK too. We even have a state church and bishops sit in the House of Lords. You can imagine how I feel about that :)

@Roseblue: I'm so sorry. Like @kelly (are you my sister?!), I lost my dad a few weeks ago, and my mom a few years ago. It's hard, but as time passes you won't want to burst into tears at the drop of a hat, but rather, you'll smile fondly remembering the good things. Hug.

Slightly on topic: I'm in the US, and I think the US is WAYYY too prudish about sex and way too fond of violence, particularly in entertainment. Rather, not prudish, but strangely hypocritical in some ways.

However... I think that age of consent has a purpose. While every teenager is different, there must be a baseline for making informed decisions. (Oh, if only most sex ed programs were better here!) My first thought on reading this blind was 'statutory rape, y'all'. My two cents.
