I did the math the other day and think I have averaged eating a donut a day since I was born.

All hail the return of the Hammaconda

Who cares about the Hammaconda. The new episodes are taking way too long. That's what I care about :)

Bacon Ranch said...

Let's talk American Horror Story.
WHO THREW THE ACID?

VIPblonde said...

Also, Adam Lambert on Glee last night was everything!!!!

Bacon Ranch said...

Oh wait, forgot where I am.

WHO THROUGH THE ACID?

Sugar said...

My gay friend *Dave lives on Uranus (street). We all laugh at this because we are very childish and immature.

*not his real name

Sugar said...

If dude didn't want us to drool over that, he would wear underwear.
I'm glad he doesn't wear underwear.

Unknown said...

It is no accident that you can see his schlong.

Freya said...

@ Bacon Ranch I thought it was Angela Bassett's character.

Kelly said...

Lambert was amazing! Love him!

Bacon Ranch said...

Freya, see..that's a good thought. However she was channeling the zombies at the time, right? I don't know if
oh heck, now I'm wondering if a zombie managed to dress themselves up and do it.
But why go to the hospital after?

This stinkin' show is getting more of my mind than work is ;)

rajahcat said...

well then do what I do and just don't do the math

rajahcat said...

Welcome back Hammaconda

AJ said...

Very OT but just found out my dog has cancer. Why do fur babies make you loose control of all emotions.
I fucking hate cancer. First my mom and now my dog.

Beetlejuice said...

Sorry AJ. Sending good vibes to your mom and pup.

Bacon Ranch said...

Oh no AJ!
:(

What are the treatment options?

Freya said...

@ Bacon Ranch Also thought it was a spirit AB conjured up.

Could also be the witch who brings people to life or the uber religious woman who lived next to them.

I have no idea.

rajahcat said...

poor puppy....poor you :( sorry

Bacon Ranch said...

I don't think Misty (healer) would have reason to do that. She hasn't met any (except Zoe) yet, right? And where in the heck is Kyle?
Did he run off with crazy next door neighbor lady?
She's a good guess as well, since she thinks they are all cursed.

Sugar said...

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear that, AJ. Fur babies are precious too.

AJ said...

Thanks everyone. My pup can do chemo but it would help him live 6+ months longer but not fair to him. So our other option is to do steroids to keep the swelling down until he starts having trouble breathing. So for now we make him comfortable and give him love and PB laced with meds.

AJ said...

My mom died from lymphoma within 9 months of being diagnosed. Worst period of my life and hearing my dog has the same thing is making me loose my sh*t.

WareCat said...

i'm so sorry AJ <3.

Beetlejuice said...

Oh AJ, boo im so sorry. Sending you love today and internet hugs.

Bacon Ranch said...

Strength your way AJ. Strength and a huge (virtual) bear hug.
What's your dog's name? What kind? How did you get him into your life?

Eros said...

Krispy Kreme, I hope, Enty? Lol

Already have one said...

@bacon, her husband.

AJ said...

Thanks bacon !!!
My mush face is named Chewy as in Chewbacca bc he makes funny noises. He's a brindle colored pit.
Hubby brought him home a few months after we moved into our first apartment

Already have one said...

Sorry, aj. :(

Bacon Ranch said...

shelly, he was who I thought did it, too. But remember he was 4 hours away killing internet girl. Cordelia saw that when she touched his hand. I would think if he did that to her, she would have seen that too?
Plus I think he knows Fiona would make him WISH he was set on fire.

AJ said...

Have changed my profile pic to my dog Chewy so you can see his cuteness.

I thought AB made someone do it.

The Voodoo makes the most sense, that was a perfect distraction. But why her? Why not Fiona?

AJ said...

TY :) I remind myself of that. I have Crohn's disease so some days taking care of me is my job. This will be a trying time

Bacon Ranch said...

CHEWY!
Love that name :)

Listen, don't lose step of taking care of you as you take care of him.
He needs you as much as you need him right now.

I am so sorry you are going through this.

Already have one said...

@bacon, true, I forgot about her new power. Do you read the interviews with Ryan Murphy? They have lots of info in them and he implied that her hubby belongs to a group of witch hunters. I think it was in the episode before lasts interview. But I want to know who is the next supreme and wtf is Spaulding doing with the dead girl tea party?

AJ said...

To keep Fiona busy while AB's voodoo zombies attacked the house which she assumed would be defenseless without her.

Bacon Ranch said...

Sorry, the way I worded that needed some editing.
Looks like everyone is going to watch their diet.
I had a roommate with Crohn's. Poor guy would just stare as we ate queso.

How old is Chewy?

Bacon Ranch said...

It worked! Plus I loved her showdown with Hank in the hospital room.

AJ said...

Total understand. The editing capabilities are atrocious on the site but I've been reading since the beginning and commenting off and on for a couple of years.

Crohns sux. It's different for everyone but dairy & fat are triggers for most that have the disease. I have my good & bad days. Looks like the dog and I will be spending more time in bed now that he's ill too.

Bacon Ranch said...

Rice and eggs are a good bet, something you can share with him.

Love the new picture, he's adorable :D

WareCat said...

my ex "in laws" rescue greyhounds & they did the whole brown rice thing. good call Bacon. never heard about eggs tho.

Chewy is too cute!
poor babe.

AJ said...

Yup two staples of my diet. LOL. I once gained 20 labs back on from eating nothing but eggs after a hospital stay.

Needless to say the adorable mush face will be getting lots of yummy goodness.

Bacon Ranch said...

I had a buddy in Florida who rescued greyhounds, ware. Very cool thing to do!
Yeah, a vet told me that once, scrambled eggs and rice are ideal for dogs.
He may have just tossed in the eggs part, all I know is that he was all "no onion! no chocolate!"
bland eggs and rice got the green light, though.

Bacon Ranch said...

Nothing but eggs?
I bet you have some cool deviled eggs recipes :) (hint hint)

AJ said...

Eggs and rice are great for dogs and people with Crohns. Onions, chocolate and grapes, not so much.

Oddly enough during my 3 week egg binge, I did not make deviled eggs. Never have but do enjoy consuming them.

Brian said...

I love donuts. One of my favorite foods

AJ said...

I think I deserve a donut after today.

Seven of Eleven said...

Aw, AJ, I'm so sorry. :( Virtual internet non-weirdo comforting hugs for you!

Seven of Eleven said...

And some deviled eggs, made with BACON RANCH dressing!

Bacon Ranch said...

I will share my tried and true simple recipe (leaving out the spices which make mine the most awesome d eggs ever)

boil eggs
peel
split in half and scoop out innards
mush together said yolk with mustard and mayo, relish or sliced pickles are optional but recommended.

replace into egg whites.
Top with paprika

refrigerate for a couple of hours and then serve (acting like it took you all day to cook. A good drama swoop at the end is a nice touch)

Katarina said...

I'm so sorry Aj. Sending you love your way. I have ulcerative colitis myself and know how bad any stress makes IBD. Take care and give Chewy a hug and kiss for me.

Thanks y'all :)
I know we're all strangers but I do appreciate all the kind words & thoughts.
PS also a BIG TY to ENTY for letting me takeover OT and vent with my sad news.

Bacon - screw the relish/pickles - you put some bacon bits in there and you will have something!!!

Meanie Rhysie said...

Deviled eggs?! Blechhhh!!!!!

AJ said...

TY @ Katarina :)
Take care too. IBD etc are no fun. Stress = bad times typically. Tying to stay calm so hubby doesn't have two sick ones to take care of.

AJ said...

As our household says .... Bacon makes everything better.

Sugar said...

Seriously, Meanie. STOP INSULTING DEVILED EGGS!!!
They are my favorite!!!!! Yum. :-)

@AJ, so sorry to hear about Chewy's illness. We lost our Ridgeback this summer to a brain tumor, rice and eggs were all he could keep down near the end.
Stay well yourself and give each other comfort.

Kelly said...

Don't forget the salt and pepper in the deviled eggs! I never have tried mustard in mine. Huh. Will have to try. I'm the one everyone always makes me make and bring them to dinners and parties. I'm old school mayo, salt, pepper, paprika. I just know how to make them extra creamy.

@AJ So sorry! Sending you my thoughts!

astrogirl said...

No one really makes them here, but they look gross.

Okay - I need advice from all da awesome ladies here:

Met a girl Wednesday morning. Incredible girl. Can't stop thinking about her. She works in a hospital. We spoke for a few minutes as she took my height and weight. She took my breath away (ironically I was there to have a breathing test performed) and my heart was racing (didn't need a heart test though). Couldn't ask her out because it was a weird place to do so. Especially with people around. What's the best avenue to ask her out?

@AJ - good thoughts.

The Original CDAN Reader said...

@ JBE - First things first. Do you know her status? Did you look for a ring? I know that lots of folks don’t wear wedding bands at work or at all. I’m also surprised at how many people forget to sneak a peek for a sparkler. If she is unmarried, is she open or available? She could have 2 kids and live with her boyfriend or something. Asking a stranger out might be kind of forward, I think guys sometimes misinterpret friendliness or chatty conversation for interest. Let’s say that you go in cold, ask her out and you crash & burn, it could be awkward when you need to make follow up medical visits.

Then again, there are worse things than being embarrassed…like asking yourself WHAT IF?!

IMO, if you haven’t already Googled & FB searched for her, the best way to test the waters is to ease bogus questions into the conversation the next time you see her, like: “How was Halloween? Did you take the kids trick-or-treating? Do you guys still have a lot of candy at your house? Is everyone getting geared up for the holidays? Are you planning on doing a lot of traveling? I hope the weather stays nice, etc.”

Her answers will lead you to your next steps:
Evasive and vague responses = not interested or already attached.
Excited rambling about the hubby, kids and in-laws = no sale. Jason, I’m sure you’ve seen a few shows on ID. This will NOT end well.
Friendly, polite responses with ambiguous details and not using any pronouns = she’s open/interested, but may be attached or married.
Pleasant, sociable, forthcoming responses = OMG! Now what do you do? Ha!

This is juicy. Let us know what happens. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if she was really 888 or someone on here?

Good luck!

AJ - sorry to hear about your puppy, he looks beautiful and has an awesome name.

I love deviled eggs, I even got a fancy dancy tray to use in the summer that has hollows for every egg half, and a space for ice underneath! Genius!

Little Broken Bird said...

You know her place of work, and im guessing you know her name. I would send flowers, with a short, sweet to the point note. I saw you, I was this guy wearing/we taljed about etc. I like you, ask her for coffee, some place near her work, leave your number and email address. Keep the flowers pretty but not over the top (no red roses)

Little Broken Bird said...

@AJ I'm sorry, Cancer can suck it! I've lost loved ones, I feel for you, stay strong. Chewy is a lucky fur baby to be loved the way he is.

BackyardChupacabra said...

Aww! My thoughts are with u. My oldest Basset, Stanley, who is my profile pic, has gone downhill bad this week...old age, but I'm losing my shit! Hang in there. ;)

Oops...he's not my pic on here but he's adorable and I will be thinking of u.

AJ - So sorry what you're going through with Chewy and the other stuff! Poor sweet puppy. Cancer sucks so hard!

Seems like we were talking about this some months ago, Crohn's and that stuff. I have good ol' IBS... so much fun! A couple of friends of mine are doing Remicade infusions every 8 weeks. Saved the life of one of those friends! The other does it for I believe psoriasis.

I only mention Remicade because the first friend, he previously had a doctor that never told him about Remicade. If you're unfamiliar, it's worth checking into. They do a program where it's free or very cheap if you're poor.

I got your back on the bad, bad devil-eggies Rhysie ;)

Alita said...

@Jason, whee! Heart-racing breathlessness is the best! I mostly agree with @LBB that a low-key flowers gift with a card including your mobile and email is the go, also a suggested date like 'I'd really like to see you, maybe we could meet at ...'

The only thing I'd suggest be done slightly differently (and this is so subjective, but just my thoughts), is to personally front up and hand it to her direct - don't hang around, just 'hi, I hope you like this,' and depart. That way she will know who you are and hopefully recall your visit the other day - even with the clothing/conversation reminders, I'd be worried about being sure who was valentining me. You're still not putting her on the spot at her work, because you leave.

Worst case - she's busy for a while, so you have to give it to one of the colleagues in her department to pass over. Still good because they've had a chance to eyeball you and can confirm you've got nothing overtly freakish about you (presumably ;) at least not freakish in a bad way.

I wouldn't worry about relationship status discovery - if she calls with a heartfelt thank you and apologies that she's in a committed relationship - well, it is better to have loved and lost than to (etc).

However you go in, may the force be with you.

AJ said...

TY & yes Cancer really does suck.

I tried remicade a few years back and it was a wonder drug until I built up an immunity to it. Now I'm on something called 6mp. I can't do Remicade or Humira bc of the risk of lymphoma in my family. My mom was on the Humira when she got cancer. Unfortunately she didn't beat it and needless to say I'm terrified of those drugs now. It's a rough choice bc my meds aren't really working and I may have to take those drugs anyway to save me life. It's the gamble I might have to take.
Sorry. I'm not my normal barrel of laughs. This has been a rough time.

Little Broken Bird said...

I'm onboard with Alita on the face to face, be brave fella! Go get her. Let us know how you get on.

AJ said...

TY :) My mush face is being spoiled & loved by all.

This July my man Magic (avi) died of Lymphoma. It was funny, my doctor, upon hearing what happened, just did the quick "I see." He often reminds others, our similarities are more than our differences. The only reason I'm still here, after 18 operations for Crohn's is my cats. They need you, so you fight on. Losing him, I won't lie, has destroyed me. He was the last one.
I know, with you & Chewy, Love him for as long as you have, I'm sending all the love and light I can. I'm so sorry, AJ.

AJ said...

TY :) Amazing how these fur babies steal our hearts. Good luck with your pup as well.

AJ said...

Thank you so much.
It's a trying time for us all but the kindness of my CDAN friends has really touched me.
I'm sorry to hear about losing your Magic. I can't even imagine.
Stay strong & fight the good fight with your Crohns.
I'll do the same :-)

Anna Katherine Nonymous said...

Hugs and prayers to you and your fur baby. :(

AJ said...

Thanks Mango.
We used to joke that when it's the end, we were gonna feed him Reese PB cups bc he always looks at them so longingly. Now it doesn't seem so funny :-/
I suspect he will be spoiled with his favorite human foods. He's already being weird about eating so we started mixing in rice.
I'm hoping the steroids start working but that's just a patch at this point.

@AJ: I know this is a super-late post but I'm just getting caught up. My pup was also recently diagnosed with lymphoma. I work in the vet field and we are currently doing chemo (6 weeks of chemo and he has been in remission for 5 weeks). We are actually doing a FB blog for him to show his progress and show the difference in chemo for dogs vs humans... He is doing phenomenally... In case you were considering the chemo route-- I am so happy we made the decision...:
