I'm reading this blind as being he was acting like he was single past few weeks while filming. something happened over the summer & this person is single again but enty wasn't sure if he was caught or just decided he like being single better.

I read it as he cheated briefly over the summer, and was either busted by the wife who threw him out, or else decided he preferred being single because the past few weeks he's been acting like he is.
