DeleteI always think it’s a warning sign whenever someone makes sobriety their entire identity. Same whenever someone says they’ve beaten their addiction.

Delete@Rosie That’s been my experience too if they’re bragging. The ones who are more quiet about it, but may still mention “I’m x(time) clean/sober” in appropriate contexts, have been the exception. Context is everything.

ReplyDeleteUgh. Stop fucking doing drugs, get the fuck out of Hollywood, go back to school and do something actually meaningful with your life, that is valuable to society. That, or go back to heroin and accept the consequences. Either way, stop selling stories (and I know you read here). ✌🏻

ReplyDeleteI had a neighbor (a young girl who I befriended cuz her parents were raging alcoholics. I let her hide out at my house when needed). She met a guy, he turned her onto heroin. So long story short, she relapsed a bunch. Then one day before entering rehab she OD’d and died. Brought back to life & in a coma for 10 days. Woke up, good as new. Started using a week later. Eventually, I had to cut ties with her. No idea what’s going on w/ her now, other than she had a baby & the state took it away.
My point being...even death sometimes isn’t a big enough wake up call for some addicts.

Deletei used to like her a lot, but since all she does is lie and pretend to be sober, I can't no longer stand hearing her voice. i thought that a near-death experience should be a wake up call, not worth it.
