Squasch and it's tied with zucchini
Brussel sprouts. Haven’t found a way to cook them yet that makes me want to eat them.
Tomatoes. Plain, ordinary tomatoes.
Okra, it is so slimy.
For fruits, it is bananas, they smell alone makes me really sick.
@simon if you toss brussel sprouts in olive oil and roast them in a hot oven until they are turning brown and crisp they are really good. They lose the "cabbage" taste
I'm with you @Simon I have had tons of folks tell me "Oh that's cus you never tried my Brussels sprouts" sorry nothing can take away that bitter taste they have, ICK NAST!!
I've tried more than one recipe and they are just nasty.
Boil in water and butter
Yum
Okra YES. Gross and slimy.
Eggplant. It hurts my tongue.
beets
Bell peppers, just gross.
Habanero peppers—never again! But I'll take the okra, Brussel sprouts, eggplant and tomatoes.
It's a tie between beets and avocado
Cardi-B
Olives
Roast me in the toaster oven and add bacon and balsamic. So good!
@simon, @troy gave you the key ingredient. Balsamic. Brussels need savory or umami, salt and acid for the pallet.
Beetroot. tastes of mud. texture vile
Mashed potatoes
STEPHEN HAWKING. NEVER LIKED THE GUY
@montana right? That’s all i hear is you haven’t tried mine. But i have tried a ton of ways and it’s still just not working for me.
O’k, going to get out the balsamic and try again. We will see!
But ... Stephen is the smartest of all vegetables.
I dislike most vegetables. Broccoli/cauliflower (esp cauliflower, even with cheese on it). I liked brussel sprouts for a little while but I don't find them bitter, they taste like paste (like avocado to me, don't get the hype).
However, I do like one vegetable that many seem to dislike - PARSNIPS!
Olives. and I really dislike bell peppers. But the MOST disgusting food of all is BANANAS!!!! And melon!
Eggplant. I just can't.
Beets and avocado are so disgusting.
Green bell peppers. Ugh.
Goddamn sweet potatoes & eggplants. However I do like sweet potato fries.
Yellow squash. Tasteless and watery no matter how it is prepared.
Fennel.
@gauloise that's true about the brussel sprouts! Add some sea salt and bacon on top and they're really pretty good. Otherwise, @simon is right and I can't eat them at all.
Butternut squash is disgusting.
Beets :-P
@blue haired witch if you quarter it and slice them, then saute with garlic and olive oil until they are browned and crisp all the water will go away. They have to be almost burnt to have flavor and no water
you can toss with pasta or rice and some parsley.
Or grill them.
but steamed or boiled they are gross
I actually like every vegetable on earth EXCEPT ass-paragus. It smells like pee and the texture is awful
cauliflower. o that's so gross!
Any kind of beans....GAG.
Kale! Is it even a vegetable? I think people only eat it in public to prove they have health virtue and then go home and down a whole box of Ho-Hos or Ding Dongs.
Green cardboard is more satiating.
Lima beans
Brussell sprouts. I don't care how you fix them they are disgusting.
Squash...yuk!!!
okra - that weird veggie is 100% disgusting/WTF
BELL PEPPERS - the worst, all colors
Green peppers are the only vegetable I dislike and they are very bad for you too.
Cabbage.......i hate it.......i dislike it.......i dsepise it........i loathe it........i abhor it.........i'm repulsed by it.God i hate cabbage!
Ummmm are mushrooms a vegetable?
onions
Sauerkraut...by a million miles.
Brussel sprouts roasted and then tossed with bacon are soooo good!
I hate beets with a passion I normally reserve for pedophiles, murderers, and people who make their potato salad with miracle whip. Absolutely disgusting.
This is such a contrast compared to the stories we get told. It’s kale btw
Fucking Okra and green bell peppers!
Soupy Sales
also celery I hate the flavour
Kindly explain why they bad for us?
Peas and okra.
Brussels Sprouts! YUCK!!
Sprouts in general
Eggplant 🍆
Fucking kale. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.
Y'all need to try your okra fried. Lightly breaded, sprinkled with pepper, and pan fried in oil until it's crispy.
Sweet potatoes. Get them out of my face, now! 🤢
Raw onion.
Spinach and Brussels sprouts
I absolutely love any and all vegetables...except green beans for some reason, but I do like the spicy pickled kind.
Slimy okra. I’m not thrilled with tomatoes but I do like plum tomatoes.
#1 Miss Peach. Brussels sprouts with bacon and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar is like candy to me. I literally order extra to take home when I see it being offered at a restaurant. Wegmans deli area usually has a wonderful shaved Brussels sprout version that is so yummy. I love most veggies but hate sweet potatoes, and I have tried them in every conceivable way. They seriously make me want to hurl.
Okra. I have yet to find a way to make it palatable.
Lima Beans, Red Onions
All of you Brussel sprouts & 🥑 haters can send them my way. I’ll also take the whole nightshade family.
I love my vegies, a plate of steamed veg with butter salt and pepper is one of my favourite meals. Not a fan of B sprouts , one or two is my limit and don't like the slimy texture of Okra or anything with a bitter taste like kale. If you're classing bell peppers/chillies as a veg you can leave them off my plate as well. Bell peppers are only good when they are red (ripe)and the skin is charred off and they are cooked
Otherwise I'll eat most veg, really depends on how they are cooked.
@ Shakey I love parsnips as well.
onions, broccoli and all cruciferous vegetables. like green onions though
Humans weren't meant to eat vegetables. That's why they taste so bad just by themselves.
However, my mother made the absolute best fried eggplant. Sliced, salted, drained, dipped in beaten egg, dipped in cornmeal, fried in lots of butter. Absolute heaven! That's the problem with vegetables--they don't taste good unless slathered in lots of fat--cheese, butter, oil. Just ask, How do you like your fat delivered?
Deep fried Brussels sprouts with your choice of dipping sauce could be a game changer for you.
I’m having a hard time thinking of a veg I won’t eat prepared SOME way or another. I guess sprouts. They’re an E. coli trap. And radicchio. It’s so bloody bitter.
Also the lesser squashes - acorn, spaghetti, etc.
Nothing bitter.
I love some of the ones others are naming as hated.
We can trade vegetables then.
"Kale! Is it even a vegetable?"
Form of cabbage, I think.
It's horrid.
"I guess sprouts. They’re an E. coli trap" - Epon
Yesss and they put them on everything in any healthy restaurant. You can often till see the dirt on them.
"No sprout, please."
* everything arrives under thick sprouts blanket*
"Could I please have this w/out sprouts."
"Just pick them off. They're good for you."
Thought bubble: You're the server, not my parent...Grr
They're so germ ridden, and besides when you remove a thing it takes the good stuff with it. AND no flavor, AND looks like worms. ICK
I don't like bitter greens either Epon. We might both be super tasters.
Brussels sprouts tastes like farts made solid no matter how I cook them.
Never had a brussels sprout.
Nothing about their look, smell or reputation enticed me.
They could qualify as a blind item here, they are so rank.
I hate Kale.
Pan fry Brussel sprouts with chopped onion or shallots and diced bacon, ground pepper and salt. Yum!
Fave Veg: Stephen Hawking
Goodau doesn't heat reduce their bitterness? Or removing part of the plant?
Celery,I hate it with a passion. it tasre bitter to me. I don't mind if its cooked in s casserole something.
Any type of cabbage. yuke!
Beets is the only vegetable I will not eat.
If you don't like red beets, try golden beets. Totally different.
Celery mainly tastes salty to me; if it's in a dish, that is almost all I can taste.
Cilantro
Kiwi fruit. A lot of work with very little payoff at the end.
I like most veggies, but could do without eggplant and corn. That being said...my husband loves corn pudding, so I make it at least once a year.
Wondering if it's just that thread.
That's kind of you, Disparaging Remark.
Corn pudding is yum. AKA corn souffle.

Brussel Sprouts
Beets and brussel sprouts. I remember eating them as a child, and so wanted to try them over here in Belgium, where food not only looks great, it tastes great. Nope! Not even close, on either of these! I know people say that they can be delicious and I've looked at recipes. Just NO. The other thing I can't stand is cilantro. It tastes like soap to me and makes anything else that it is in, taste like soap. (This is a genetic thing.)
"Cilantro"
Did everyone know that the way people perceive cilantro (gross or yum), or the depth to which they taste bitter foods, is genetic?
Hate beets.
Love brussel sprouts and lima beans.
