That stinks, I thought they were being way more careful about what they prescribe, especially if the person has had addiction issues.

She just broke her knee, but she intends to keep performing? You're damn right she's going to be loaded up on painkillers, just like any other sane person.

Still seems a little too soon to say she's abusing pills since she's probably still on her first prescription, she broke her knee just last week.

My thoughts exactly....

If one is a former addict, you only need the prescription for a day if you're going to start abusing the pills.

When has Marie Osmond been known as not "sober"?
I don't recall a lot of talk about her being strung out, drunk or otherwise. Depressed and fat maybe...but not on drugs.

Eh relapse is a part of recovery. Plus is someone's sobriety is hanging on by that thin a thread it wasn't going to last long anyway. You can't run from your own demons forever.

i thought marie's thing was cocaine

Considering Marie is Morman and they don't drink, I don't think this is her.

I think this Aaron Carter.

I bet there are many Mormans that get shit faced. Just because their religion says no, doesn't mean they are.

Aaron Carter is 31. He hasn't been trying to get sober for "decades". And even if he did fit agewise, does anyone believe that he's even spent weeks trying to get sober, let alone decades?

I’ve never seen as many billboards regarding opiate addiction and that prescription pill abuse is real and a problem as when we visited Salt Lake City.
There is a weird “loophole” that prescribed medicine doesn’t “count” in the Mormons shouldn’t have anything that alters their current state (eg caffeine, alcohol)

He's been sober for a while.

He says he's been sober for a few months. Just helped get his mom into rehab recently too.

@Troy, Yeah I don't even like leaving the airport in Salt Lake, feel like "a pilgrim in an unholy land."

I enjoyed my time in SLC, they are not very dog friendly, but yeah, I kinda felt like an outcast when trying to find a place that had “real” beer. And omg sooooo many people smoking- I thought I went back in time to 1999.

He is not sober nor has he gave it a full go...you cant be an addict and take prescription drugs like xanex..there are other choices that are not narcotics...hes just using his addiction for pity hes done the rounds Dr.Phil. The Doctors. yet hasn't been offline long enough for a rehab program..

@Troy Dyer, Utah isn't dog friendly or Mormons? Who in their right mind is not dog friendly? As long as their is breath in my body there will be a dog (s) at my feet. What a gift they are.

@mountain mama
Utah is NOT very dog friendly.
In SLC in particular, a lot of the breweries and restaurants advertise themselves as being dog friendly, but to them that meant tying the dog up outside of a patio or to a tree outside the establishment, which is a hell no for me and my dog.
I think Utah is just one of those states where if they allow dogs then farmers will come to the bar with a truck load of Great Danes (which we saw in nowheresville, Montana) so they just say no dogs.

Sad that a few idiots ruin it for all. Thanks for the insider view. I have never been.

This is Marie Osmond.
I wonder how Jimmy Osmond is doing . He suffered a serious stroke at the end of 2018 ... hasn't been seen all year. Sending him love and light.

Oh no! The long-haired lover from Liverpool! He's only a year younger than I am.

At the same time, there are people who never had substance abuse issues in serious pain who suffer because doctors don't prescribe or under-prescribe pain medicine. No one seems concerned about them.
