Every big singer knew being the opening act of this sports final was just asking for trouble, so they all turned it down. The foreign born singer was talked into it and told by management everyone would love her. If by love, you mean tens of thousands of people booing and chanting over her, then yes, she was loved. It was a career ruiner.
