Four For Friday - The Backstabber
Don't forget that every Saturday morning I find a blind item from my archives and reveal it. It is as big of a surprise to me as it is to you as I just randomly search through them until I find one. This actress is A list through and through. She has achieved about the most success an actress can receive. Money, fame and awards. She wanted to be the world's sweetheart, but if they knew how she got to her lofty position they would be rethinking their judgment.
When Backstabber came to Hollywood she thought she was hot and that she could make it on her looks. Back home she was always the prettiest and she figured she would be here too. Nope. Not even close. She was smart enough to figure that out and also learned about the casting couch really quickly. Her first roles were secured via the casting couch and also led her to do some things she has never done since on film. It is true that she has attempted to buy some of those earlier films and then make sure no new copies are ever released.
In one of her casting couch experiences she met a mentor who has guided her almost every step of the way. Although they stopped sleeping together after six months when Backstabber threatened to tell his wife, they have been good friends ever since and Backstabber makes sure to send over some young actresses she runs into looking for a break to his office to keep him happy.
It came to Backstabber's attention that there was a role which would be perfect for her but the lead had been promised to someone else. Another actress who had very similar qualities and beat out Backstabber for a career defining role and made her white hot. Destined for A list (and still with great name recognition, but not Crash & Burn from yesterday), she made a few more movies and now has one bomb after another on television and in movies. Backstabber started whispering in ears that this actress had a drug problem and could not be relied on. She told everyone she could about the drugs and booze and erratic behavior. None of it was true, but what was a shoo in for the actress and her spot as the actress to watch disappeared in a flash and went to Backstabber.
This is where it gets interesting. On the set, Backstabber met her soon to be husband, but he was already having sex with two of the other still B list co-stars and would have laughed if you told him what Backstabber had in mind. Aside from the casting couch, Backstabber was not and is not a sexual person. She does it out of duty. For this guy though, she knew that would not work. She seduced and teased and the next thing you know, the guy had left the other two co-stars in the dust and was on his knee in a second trying to marry Backstabber. To be the world's sweetheart you needed a husband. Mission accomplished. The only misfire Backstabber had was that her husband would chat in a second and with Backstabber only having sex with him once a month at the most, he would go wandering and straying. She did not mind when he was quiet about it, but after she paid for the third abortion for him, he was out the door.
While they were married, Backstabber continued to climb the Hollywood ladder. Drug accusations here, sending over some of her "friends" from back home to spend the night with a studio executive. To get the ultimate prize, she actually did have sex with a few people who could make or break things for her. She has no actress friends left in Hollywood because she has talked smack about everyone of them. She works for charities but only because it is expected. She has said privately that she keeps every penny she has ever made and that she is not going to give her money to a bunch of broke people or the N word on the street. Oh yeah, she is racist. Probably more so than anyone at a KKK rally. Movies with black people? Not if she can help it. Earlier in her career she could not control it. Now? Casting approval. No black people. Other minorities? No thank you. If she sees you drinking she will try and have you fired. Swearing? She better not hear you. Yeah, so it was a real treat when she had to work with a guy who dropped F bombs every five seconds and had a string of hookers and booze in his trailer the whole shoot. You can see her grimacing the entire movie.

When everyone was getting married, she had a sudden marriage to a man she met at a charity event (fudged detail) and then quick divorce where she stated fraud instead of irreconcilable differences (why?).

I thought it was Julia but the clues don't really fit. However, it could be Reese. I know that Lainey and Ted think she is a bitch and Ted has written quite a few blinds that seemed to be about her but he has never mentioned in his blinds that she has racist tendencies.

For those on the RW bandwagon, look back on an old Himmmm comment (reference Laura Jean Withersp). He spoke of an America's sweetheart who was anything but and who hosts orgies in her home. IIRC, he seemed to imply that it was RW. So unless she just watches, then the sex as a duty bit doesn't work for her.

I'm leaning toward Kim Basinger, even though she had an affair with Prince at one time... (?) but Jennifer Jason Leigh was being considered for LA Confidential, and I can't find confirmation of this but Kim may have been in the running for Stacy in Fast Times at Ridgemont High...also, Kathleen Turner was considered for 9 1/2 weeks, so it could have been Body Heat as the career-defining role Backstabber lost out to almost A-list previously...also, boozing/hookers actor could have been Keifer Sutherland in The Sentinel?
Ive never heard anything about her being racist though...I was also thinking how Charlize Theron is from South Africa, home of apartheid, but she's never been married...IDK, maybe this is one of those BS blinds with no answer?
@Izaheart. I am one of the people who wrote that Julia Roberts is not a racist IN HER CAREER CHOICES. I agree that lots of people are racist in private but pretend to love people of color in public, and she could be one of them. However, I don't think you can "fake" a childhood relationship with the MLK family. Also, I mentioned Denzel/Pelican Brief because Roberts played such an ACTIVE (not passive) and potentially risky anti-racist role in that casting. (If the film had failed, the studio would have blamed her for fighting so hard for Denzel.) It was not a necessary career risk, but she took it so it is unlikely that she would all of a sudden stop working with black people. Proof: There are black actors and other actors of color - again in color blind casting roles - in her recent films. So she could be a racist, but her racism is not affecting the casting of her films, which is what the original item stated about the "backstabber."
Reese Witherspoon - on the other hand - is rarely in a film or a scene in which she even speaks to a non-white person. I didn't see "This Means War" so I don't know if she had any scenes with Angela Bassett.
I still think that at least one of the "clues" is false, which is why this has been so hard to figure out.
This is totally Reese Witherspoon, and the actress that beat her for an iconic role was Joey Lauren Adams in Mallrats.
Uh, what about the fact that S.B. adopted a black child? She also starred in "The Blind Side" which doesn't seem to me to be a character that a racist would take on.

I actually spilled red wine on Reese at Tao in NYC several years ago, and she was super sweet about it. I apologized profusely and offered to pay for it, and she just laughed it off and said, "don't worry about it." She definitely wasnt a bitch then.
Also, RW had a kissing/making out scene with Bokeem Woodbine in Freeway--which could cause some to not see as a sweetheart, getting hot and heavy with a dark-skinned actor. She hasn't done anything like that since.

This blind wants very much for everyone to think it's Reese Witherspoon. Which makes me think it's not although the blinds around this joint have been fairly transparent lately. Hard to tell but I wouldn't count Ted as a credible source. Ted doesn't like Reese because she (supposedly) bearded for his fantasy boyfriend Jake so Ted's opinion counts for nothing on the topic of Reese.
I think Reese's "friendship" with Chelsea had more to do with promoting that stupid movie "This Means War" than actually enjoying eachothers company. Also, Reese is probably shrewd enough to keep on friendly terms with C.H. Chelsea's books are big hits and Reese does have her own production company...

In Freeway - an AMAZING FILM - Reese plays a girl who says outrageously racist things but she, simultaneously, has a black boyfriend, a Latina best friend, and she interacts throughout the film with a black FBI agent. (Her performance in this film is phenomenal.)
Later in her career, the black people and the Latinos disappear. This is why Reese fits the description of an actress who worked with black actors early in her career and then stopped as she became more powerful.
2. "To get the ultimate prize, she actually did have sex with a few people who could make or break things for her." - The Ultimate Prize is an Oscar. This HAS to be an Academy Award winner.
I am a HUGE Julia Roberts fan (so what if shes a biatch) but I totally thought this was her until the swearing and racist parts. does anyone really buy that Julia Roberts doesnt drink or swear? And I dont see her being racist at all. Julias vice is being a hoe we all know this. Reese fits a lot better and maybe Enty means no REAL friends. They say the same thing about Angelina but even she has gwen stefani.

@ PhDiva: Freeway is AMAZING, love that movie. That's when Reese was interesting. She actually took good risks with her acting. But being edgy takes you out of the running for America's sweetheart. And somewhere along the way, Reese made a major shift regarding her career.

If you fudge the timeline a bit, I could make a good argument for this being Michelle Pfeiffer.
Pfeiffer won beauty pageants as a teen and was Miss Orange county at one point.
Debra Winger beat her out for the role of Sissy in Urban Cowboy. Winger started to get a reputation as a pain to work with, and Michelle beat her out for her role in The Fabulous Baker Boys. Now Winger doesn't work much at all, and when she does it usually isn't successful.
Another possibility is Sharon Stone. Pfeiffer lost the roles in Basic Instinct and Casino to Stone, but won the role of Catwoman away from her.
Michelle was married to Peter Horton from 1981-1988. Here's where the timeline gets a little screwy, as the blind is written as if she met her husband on the set of the movie she beat out the other actress for. But she made TFBB and Batman after they were divorced.

In regards to where is racism more prevalent, its been my experience that there is racism up north, down south, back east, and out west. No place is more racist than the other. It is everywhere.
Oh also, the producer of Twilight in which she got totally nude, the year before she did CI, was Scot Rudin, who is an absolute power house in Hollywood.

I'm just going to throw Kate Winslet out there again. I know people are eliminating her because she goes nude in practically every movie she does, but I'm wondering if the stuff she hasn't done recently that she wants to shut down might include her roles in "Heavenly Creatures" (lesbian scene), "Hideous Kinky" (faked a pretty intense and bizarre orgasm) and "Quills".
I know she was pretty raunchy in "Extras", but maybe that was just her being a great actress?
Also, she met her first husband, Jim Threapleton, on the set of "Hideous Kinky", so that might work out.
She's also rarely, if ever, filmed hanging out and socializing with female actresses or costars. In fact, there was the very public tension between her and Evan Rachel Wood during Mildred Pierce last year.
Something about Enty's use of "World's Sweetheart" more than once, as well as the way he put "she would fly over girls' really makes me think it's a foreign-born actress for this blind.

And to everyone who keeps saying that it can't be Reese because she started making movies too young, so the casting couch part doesn't fit: she was 15 when she did The Man in the Moon, which I'm pretty sure isn't too young for the Hollywood casting couch. Besides, it's entirely possible that she didn't started using the casting couch to get parts till a few years later after she only managed to get parts in crappy TV-movies.
Another reason why some of you think it can't be Reese is because she was supposedly already dating Ryan Phillippe before Cruel Intentions (and even pregnant with his child). WRONG: Despite previous reports, Reese Witherspoon was not pregnant during the filming of Cruel Intentions. The movie filmed from 9 June 1998 - 15 July 1998, and Witherspoon had her daughter Ava on 9 September 1999. A full year after filming the movie. She was, however, pregnant, when they did the press tours for the film.
As for them meeting/dating before this movie. She probably met him before, but they hooked up while filming Cruel Intentions. I definitely recall some gossip about Reese "winning" Ryan from Sarah Michelle Gellar (who also had her sight set on him).
And recalling what Kevin Smith wrote about talking to Selma Blair makes me about 95% sure that this blind item is indeed about Reese: When I bring up the Cruel Intentions power triumvirate of Sara Michelle Geller, Ryan Philipe, and (Greasy) Reese Witherspoon, Selma's tight-lipped. After much cajoling, however, she finally lets a few stories slip that make this tubby bitch's catty grin spread all the way to the back of his head. They're dishy tales of young Hollywood - so dishy I wish I can relate them here. However, they're not my stories to tell, so I can't go into them. Suffice it to say that Selma, not me, should be given a column.
I have to go with the Reese Witherspoon guess for a number of reasons:
1. Reese did a brief topless shot in a movie very early in her career and now acts as if it did not happen,
2. In Freeway Reese had a pretty long make out session with her Black boyfriend in the movie. She has rarely even had any black people in any of her movies since (she is a southern gal.)
3. I think everybody would guess that Alicia would have been a much more obvious pick for "Legally Blond" than Reese after "Clueless."
4. Persistent rumors are usually true. Reese has a persistent rumor of being a Mega-Bitch. I just get a strange vibe from her. Anyway most of the other guesses are clearly not racist. Julia Roberts and her parents were deeply involved with the Civil Rights movement (Not to mention her long rumored "friendship" with Denzel. None of the other actresses fit all the clues. Reese fits every one.
We used to own a Hotel is Palm Springs. Reese Witherspoon had come to the Hotel with friends, of all races. She was as sweet as she looks and has friends of all colors. Her husband (at the time) never came with her. To call someone whom you don't know a racist is extremely hurtful. Happily, I have left the crazy that is Southern California behind. I have never bothered to comment here but I must say that just because someone is southern doesn't necessarily make them a racist. This is not about Reese Witherspoon. Some of her best friends are black ;) I could name countless 'celebrities' that were absolute douchebag. What can I say, she even payed.

As far as the Alicia v. Reese for Legally Blonde, Legally Blonde was a full six years after Clueless, and Alicia's career certainly couldn't be described as approaching A-list/white-hot levels by the time 1999-2001 was coming around.
Additionally, I don't think anyone could be so naive to think that they could just buy out to the point of hiding a movie made in the 1990's.
I'm with those who think that this is actually about someone significantly older, as in someone who emerged in the 1970's or 1980's.

This is Julia Roberts. Agree with some very astute others here that the instances of Julia's "racial acceptance" (connections to the King family, Denzel) smacks of PR and the always specious "but I have a black friend so I can't be racist" argument. Plus, she met Lyle Lovett on the set of The Player, and as unattractive as he may seem, I don't think it's impossible for him to be a musician that gets laid.
I've never seen her photographed with "friends" unless it's something dealing with UNICEF or charity-related. Julia's a notorious bitch on set and works very hard to craft herself as the most beautiful person she knows...when she absolutely must be. Otherwise, she looks like a dumpy hausfrau, which makes me speculate she's probably someone who does her best not to blow cash.

I really think this is Reese. I can't see her role in Freeway going over very well back home in Nashville. My husband says it has to be Sharon Stone. It was a published fact that she slept with the director of Casino as a thank for giving her the part. She's been married twice, she has won acting awards and you can see how she knows she's beautiful but not the most beautiful when it comes to Hollywood.

My friend did a movie with Reese and said she wouldn't talk to anyone and had a pained expression on her face the whole. Yes, Reese is a bitch but she's a powerbroker - she knows everyone and uses her power to hook people up. She and Jen Garner are the power bitches of Hollywood. She and Jen know absolutely everyone and use their power to advance those they like and will destroy the ones that have fucked them over in the past. The reason Reese is this way is because she was fucked over multiple times when she was a young actress. Can anybody get a copy of Twilight 1998? See my previous post. Reese was about 18. I believe Bob Rafaelson directed. It starred Paul Newman and Gene Hackman. James Garner also. Reese did full on topless. Saw it at the time. Like I said before, no side boob or tit flash. She did a long topless scene with Paul Newman. This is what she wants to go away. Forget Freeway or Fear. Her "friendships" are good PR. Handler is hip and powerful. She is not someone you want to piss off because she will make fun of you. Ask Angie. Handler knows also where them bodies are buried. One thing I think is clear from the last couple big, very juicy BI's is that Enty is DEFINITELY fudging details in order to cover his ass. But he/she is not likely to fudge the most salacious details, but rather minor things as to career timing, nature of relationships, etc.
For example, ignore a few of her early movies and you can fit Reese to the clues. BUT...if you make the first marriage into a LTR, couldn't you also fit The Goop? Because she's a better fit for the nastiest aspects of the BI than, say, Julia Roberts.
Goop did do nude in Flesh and Bone. Stabbed Winona to get the part in Shakespeare in Love. Hmmm..forgot about that as well.
I don't know if this is Reese, but I will say that her being "friends" with Chelsea Handler means nothing and doesn't prove that she's okay with rude behavior. I've read many times that lots of women in Hollywood suck up to Chelsea and pretend to be best buddies with her because they're scared of being trashed on her talk show. (I personally think this is pathetic-why would anybody give a fuck what Chelsea Handler says? Are they afraid it will hurt their careers? Angelina Jolie is constantly dissed by Chelsea and Angelina seems to be doing just fine...)
It can't be Julia Roberts because she co-starred in The Pelican Brief with Denzel Washington, and that was during her very peak where she was probably turning down big roles by the dozen.

How can it possibly be Julia Roberts? The blind says that A list has casting approval and will not work with minorities. A quick check of imdb.com shows her recent movies are lousy with minorities.

I also meant to add that the latest welter of BI's about "A-list" actors and actresses is straining the credulity of the "Enty" brand to the breaking point. There's only a handful of real A-list celebs at any one time (and far fewer women than men). These people naturally are far more careful about controlling the details of their personal lives than most celebs. Also, they're so few that you can rule out most of them with one or two biographical clues. So:
--Either the entity behind "Enty" is faking up A-list BI's to sate the recent rash of outside media interest in the blog.
--Certain industry insiders, aware of the media interest, have been feeding "Enty" red meat BI's recently in order to settle old vendettas, buy competitive advantages for clients, etc. I'm not necessarily disbelieving that possibility. Just don't ask me to believe that a couple of biz publicists and maybe one real entertainment lawyer would be personally privy to so many scandals about A-list celebrities.

I am beginning to have a difficult time buying into many of these blind items at all. The reason is that ... if say Reese or Julia or Jennifer or Sandra are powerful women in Hollywood then why don't they speak up about the "casting couch behavior(s)", the terrible things done to child actors? These women have children of their own and you can not tell me that they would wish those types of treatments upon anyone especially their own children who someday might want to go into "show business. The thing with the blind items is that you never really know the answer, the truth. You can guess all day long but what do you really know at the end of the day. Nothing! If these women did not want to individually speak out it would seem they could stand together as a powerhouse strong hold to speak out and bring about change. If given the choice none of them would buy a house and live anywhere near anyone suspected of raping a woman/child or even a man. If you did you would live in fear everyday of your life. They don't, as they continue to make movies etc. etc. You can not sell your soul and then once you have reached your goals ask for it back.
From reading the blind items recently I can not see where one person mentioned in any of the guesses thus far on any of the blinds would not qualify as someone who has sold their soul to join the ranks known as "Hollywood." It's disgusting and instead of watching a movie for the sake of watching a movie since reading all of these blinds I now find myself watching and thinking ok so how many children were raped during the making of this movie or how many people did she sleep with to get this role...I told my husband about some of the stuff listed on here as "blind items" and his first response was "get real" "it's all made up Internet stuff"....even so after my telling him about it he said he is finding it uncomfortable to watch a movie with child actors in it or some of these women mentioned because because if any of this is really true and it continues as the status quo...What kind of people would allow these things to continue onward??? Certainly not good ones!

The only actress I see that can control casting is Julia Roberts. I do not know if it is her but all those other guesses sound awful.
1) It would be a shame if Kidman was really trying to prevent any re-release of Bangkok Hilton. She was very very good in that.
2) I call bullsh*t on Jennifer Garner being any kind of power broker in HW. I like her work, personally, but I just don't believe she's got any pull.
3) To people who say, why don't the big stars band together to reveal what really goes on in HW ... remember that the big stars are only stars because they were made to be by the higher-ups, who can just as easily destroy careers as make them. I was thinking Sandra Bullock, too until Enty started talking about racism. One of the main reasons is because she had bought up some old movies that she was embarrassed about being in some years back.
However, despite the fact she admits being SUPER reluctant to take the role in The Blind Side, Sandra adopted a black kid & was an executive producer (and recurring guest star) of George Lopez's sitcom.

JAniston had a hit with Horrible Bosses, regardless if she was lead, she was the best thinking about that movie. Was GPaltrow's stints on Glee considered bombs? I wish. Helen Hunt is from L.A. and has an upcoming independent hit. Sandra Bullock doesn't do much TV. Neither does Nicole Kidman. Jessica Lange had a hit of sorts with American Horror Story.

Most Oscar wining actresses working today don't fit the profile of having TV bombs. It has to be someone who isn't as big as Reese or Julia.
I have no idea if the is Reese or not, but I read the Kevin Smith article someone linked to and I can't say that is damning evidence at all. It basically says she was rude to he and his girlfriend. If it happened exactly how he says, then yeah, she was rude, but lots of people are at least on one occasion in their lives. I hope she regrets it. But keep in mind:
* Reese was in a meeting, Kevin Smith fakes a drop-in with his producer and basically rejects her because she compares a movie that perhaps she was proud of, but he hates to one of his. He also hates her because he thinks she is acting superior. I would think she would probably get vibes from him that indicate he dislikes her immediately. She also realizes this for sure when she doesn't get to audition.
* Reese beats his girlfriend out for a part. It ends up that this gilfriend is same person who got the part that Reese wanted to auditon for Kevin for. Kevin ends up dating the actress, Joey Lauren Adams. We all know Kevin is a funny, talented guy. However, it is a strain that if Kevin was a clerk, and Joey was a clerk that they would be dating. Could appear to be a casting couch situation. Not saying it was, I like to think that Kevin is funny enough an talented enough to attract someone like Joey, his wife, etc, on his own. But it sure could look that way. It also turns out that Reese's movie that she beats JLA out for is a flop. At this party, this doesn't seem to be known yet, but it easily could be know that it wasn't going to be much (to the people like JLA who have seen a cut). Reese might know at this point that she is in a flop and JLA and Kevin are making hits at the moment. JLA is sincere in her congrats, but perhaps Reese is thinking it is all fake and they are throwing it in her face. Yes, a bigger person would smile sweetly and thank them, but hardly a horrible thing.
* When she is doing the closing credits with Paul Rudd, she is still resentful at Kevin for the whole no audition thing and she says some flippant, not so nice stuff that she assumes will never be public. Again, not a sign of a mature nice person, but hardly the most horrible thing.
Plus Kevin Smith isn't an angel. I enjoy listening to his podcasts but he does/says some crazy stuff.
My point is a story here, a story there doesn't paint a complete picture of a person. Maybe she is horrible and racist. I hope not, I admire her talent. I also recognize that she seemingly is a Type A personality that likes to take a lot of control, etc. and that is not to everyone's liking, but she can still be that and be a nice person.
@Cinesnatch The actress that has had bomb after bomb is not the main focus of the blind. The main focus competed for a career defining role with another actress. The other actress won it, but after that her career went down. The actress (the main focus of the blind) that lost that role actually went on to great success and now has casting approval.

I'm late to this BI so I'm not sure if anyone will still be reading/commenting, but just wanted to say, I'm on the Reese train. I agree with PhDiva (great name!) that there aren't many A-listers to choose from (and note, Enty doesn't say 'former A-list' or 'permanent A-list', so it has to be someone current), so details HAVE to be fudged here. IMHO, only minor details need to be adjusted to make Reese fit, vs major details for other actresses - e.g. the casting couch could be for her first adult roles, rather than her very first roles. Some reasons it could be her:
- Lots of talk about her sweetheart image being BS... Kevin Smith told that story about Joey Lauren Adams graciously congratulating Reese on a role she beat Joey out for, and Reese being a sneering bitch in return.
- The topless scene in the early movie might not seem like a big deal, but it really goes against the image she has now. She has bitched about actresses who do underwear shots in men's mags, how she thinks it's degrading/doesn't understand it. I can see her going to lengths to hide this early nudity.
- I've heard she's racist before. I read a comment once from someone who grew up with her and said she and her brothers referred to their Indian neighbours by racist slurs.
- She really did visibly grimace through that movie with Vince Vaughan.
- With the exception of Chelsea H, not sure I buy her H'wood female friendships. Reese probably feels comfortable to be her bitchy self around Chelsea, and so might make an exception for anything about Chelsea she finds objectionable in others. I also agree she may be more prudish on set because she thinks some things are unprofessional. The director of Legally Blonde said she was incredibly uptight on set, that she went all Tracy Flick about people laughing and having fun.
@calgirl, I've heard the opposite, that people at college hated her because she was incredibly stuck-up and expected them to recognise her from her couple of film roles.

The Blind Vice is likely exaggerated. For example: An agent of a star up for a role against another star will state his/her own client's strengths over the other star's - stability and reliability if a sequel is planned as opposed to an actress seen partying often, having fame issues and with weight fluctuation. A studio wouldn't take one actress' word for it if she and her agent exaggerated. They've heard it all before. Is it wrong to state one's strengths to get a role, as in I'm drug-free, paryting free? No.
This star's husband was a lying cheat? Why does Blind Vice know she "didn't mind"? Maybe she was trying to be dignified in public and work it out. Maybe she was protecting her own career and not letting him damage her more than he already had? Was it wrong she later divorced the cad? No.
Actresses and actors in rom-coms can all be tainted with the racism card because rom-coms are meant to be light and not as heavy "message" movies about interracial dating, which is why rom-coms tend to be same-race couples. Will that change one day? Probably. Should that change? Yes. But it's no more racist for a rom-com white actress to star with a white actor in a few rom-coms any more than it would be for actors and actresses in Tyler Perry's domestic and romantic movies to co-star mostly with African-American actors. It's a genre. That, perhaps, should be left for deeper and greater discussion about Hollywood and society and race. But I wouldn't call a white actress racist because she's in a lot of rom-coms that star white actors, or assume producers are racist based on how they cast one type of movie.
It's all in how these blind items are spun, isn't it?
Also, I should consider the possibility that blind items suddenly pop up on gossip sites hinting of a specific actor/actress when that star is hesitant about changing staff or representation when asked to switch? A little arm-twisting?

This is an interesting guess. Because Heather did the Hangover and stuff, people still remember her.
