Its not they are used to being adored Enty because they are disgusting low life politicians who aren't even respected much mess "adored". They are used to having power and manipulating things to their advantage.
You know what? Weiner isn't anything close to being the bad guy here. He said, when he started the NY Mayoral campaign, that there was more out there, and it could surface.
When the real predator in all this, Sydney Leathers, leaked to TheDirty, he said, "Remember I said there was more that might come out? This is it."
Everything he did was consensual. It was all on his own time, not on government time. There was never a single allegation that he misused his position, harassed employees or interns, or did anything while working for the people of his district other than the work of the people in his district. You would never know any of this by watching TV news -- or by paying attention to the sanctimonious wannabe popes who comment about him here on CDAN.
During the campaign, when he was openly insulted by an interviewer -- "Why are you running? is it a hunger for power?" -- he mocked her, and the media portrayed him as having been the aggressor.
When he was accosted by a voter in a grocery store, the news media reported his "meltdown" going after the guy... But neglected to play the tape showing that what the voter accused him of wasn't sexual misconduct: he said, "You married an Arab! You should be ashamed of yourself!"
Weiner may or may not have been a good mayor of NYC. We'll never know that.
But he didn't create his own undoing as a candidate. He was targeted and persecuted by the hypocrites of the news media, who would balk at no lie, no matter how transparent, in accusing him of dishonesty.
to paint anthony weiner as a victim is delusional. I don't even think that anthony himself believes that. and hopefully leathers will disappear, as her 15 minutes are up.
spitzer is an extremely bright man who was going after the big banks etc. before he was undone by his own stupidity.

I don't know if Anthony Weiner would be a good mayor for New York because I never heard ANYTHING about any of his platforms. Whomever was responsible for Sydney Leathers made sure that was the only conversation out there about him. I am not a conspiracy theorist, but there is no way the collection and release of that material wasn't timed exactly. Especially the collection.
As for electing dudes whether or not they like hookers and sexting, is there anyone left??

Sydney Leathers is not the third HIV+ porn performer. The girl's name is Sofia Delgado. If you google her, you will get Sofia Veragara stuff. Go to Freeones.com and search for her. She has a huge, horrible tattoo of roses on her gunt. Good looking former whore though. From what I've heard, she was an off camera "friend" of Bay/Daily and only had a couple porn shoots under her belt.

Weiner's a very sick man. Compulsive, obsessive, sex-addled, addicted to political power. Needs to try to find his way in the private sector and work out his issues. Spitzer's only slightly better. Both of these guys acted like a government job, and all the power/money/prestige that comes with it, was their right and probably (no, actually) wasted a lot of money proving that proposition incorrect. Opportunistic whores (and not I'm not just talking about ladies) flock to people like this because they're both potentially powerful and very vulnerable. So, no, Sydney the Whooah is no prize but it's not like she and the other parasites were ... unexpected.
Also, wishing AIDs (or cancer, or death, sickness, dismemberment) on people you don't like is (1) vile and (2) just shows your own sad, pitiful weakness.
The main problem is voters just found them both so creepy and embarrassing. It was like knowing that stuff about your uncle; you just dont want to be around it!
Last I saw, Spitzer lost 50-48. That don't seem like too many voters had the creeps. Spitzer has a much better track record that Weiner, although his misstep was worse.
One of the other Mayoral candidates summed Weiner up the best. Paraphrasing: "It's not that the sexting stuff makes him unqualified for the Mayor's office. It is his record that makes him unqualified. 13yrs in DC and he never got 1 piece of legislation passed."

Yes it might have been something between two people that as you say "didnt harm anyone else" (actually it did harm his wife and child ), I wouldn't want to put someone in that much of a position of power WHO CANNOT CONTROL THEMSELVES. Just because he said "there is more that may come out" does not absolve himself. So yes my dear JAS, it does matter, it was not made up by the media , he brought it on himself , he is a douche bag of enormous proportions and I would not want someone like that in power. Geesh.

She didn't set out to have an affair with him. She is a political fan and wanted to prove he wasn't the changed man he led people to believe.
Weiner was ahead in the polls before her story broke. She wasn't fame whoring she wanted to be anonymous but couldn't when the media found her name out.
Is she using sex now to make a couple of bucks, sure. But what else is she going to do get a job in an office since she is so well known now.

I think Weiner has so severely compromised himself AND his wife that if Hillary runs for office the wife will have to step away--who wants to have Weiner associated with them in any way.

J.R. Clark - Politico had a great story yesterday on the differences between Weiner, Spitzer and Mark Sanford. It said that a) Sanford had amassed good will with the people before becoming Governor, and b) that he came clean right away and said that he had fallen in love with this woman, who he since has become engaged to.
Because of those things, the people were willing to forgive him.
