This C list celebrity of an almost celebrity couple who split long ago has some daddy issues. She would be the first to admit it because she says her B list celebrity/actor dad wasn't around much when she was growing up. So, when our C lister split recently with her actor boyfriend she turned to the long time B list mostly movie actor friend of her father and hooked up. In times of trouble, she always hooks up with the married actor.

Cary Grant was definitely not an "almost celebrity". He was absolutely one.
Don and Melonie were never married/together when they both peaked their fame, so they were never a celeb couple, but major celebs in their own right.
Don and Melanie were together when she was a teenager, split up and got back Ttogether and married in the 80s. They were pretty famous.

Almost celebrity couple seems to me to be never really together - just had a kid together, but nothing took off from there.
