At this point, this former almost A list actor, now a B- living off his name, who is an Academy Award winner/nominee does not even bother to show any respect for his wife. He cheats every chance he gets, and is not even shy about doing it. This past weekend was no different as he spent the entire weekend groping and making out with a woman in public that he had just met. They spent much of the weekend in his hotel room bed and he really tried his best to have her friend join them too. I guess his wife has just given up or does not even think it is worth it to fight anymore. I just don't understand why he would bother to stay married. It is one thing to try and shove your tongue down every one of your co-stars throats which he does, but at least he can say it is part of the movie. What he does away from the movie is just too much.

They prob have an open relationship, rather than it being "cheating". I doubt many (any?) Hollywood relationships would last if they expected monogamy, long periods away from each other and sex always available. Why break up if you can both already do whatever you want?
Agreed, I don't understand what she's done to herself, she was an attractive woman once. Why can't they just let nature be!

Didn't Melanie have a drunken fall where she smashed up her face? That would explain some of the surgery.

I wonder if it is their child together that is keeping him from divorcing her? It could also be her fragile-ness and clingy nature that he enjoys because it makes him appear needed by her. Taking advantage of her fragility is more like it.
They've been together for almost 20 years folks, since '95, whatever the reason, they've lasted a millennium in Hollywood terms, good for them.
Why some women put up with this shit I'll never understand. As my husband says, the secret to a good marriage IS putting up with the other persons crap.

Somebody needs a fact checker. Antonio was never nominated for an Oscar (but Melanie was).
That said, Melanie is no saint when it comes to cheating or getting involved with married men.
It's easy to pick on Mel's looks because of the plastic surgery but he looks like crap too. If he cheats and she doesn't care then that's their business. It's probably easier to stay married after all this time.
I've never found him attractive but if everyone in Hollywood cheats whats the point in divorcing? Or marrying in the first place? If she divorces him then most likely she wouldn't find someone faithful and who is to say she is faithful.
I would never want to live or love like that. Ugh.
@Seven of Eleven that was Ann Landers. Spot on, too. I don't think its fair to say Melanie stays because she thinks she can't do better. I think she stays, and puts up with, the cheating because he has taken care of her through drug and alcohol addictions, they have kids they've raised together, and he probably treats her well, in other ways. Also, there's many people not obsessed with looks, that might love her more than anything. I think she doesn't love herself, is what's the main problem. Sad.
I saw Melanie yesterday in a guest role on Hot in Cleveland. Her huge lips have ruined her face! Why do these ladies think that fat lips look good?

How strange, I heard years ago that Melanie wouldnt let him out of her sight because she was so afraid he would cheat.

My college roommate was with Melanie in rehab before it was popular -- early 80s, maybe? Said she was very nice. Not exactly relevant except to point out addiction has been at least a three decade struggle for Melanie.
She could do a lot better. And, yeh, stop messing with your face.
