This doesn't excuse any part of it, but apparently it was RM who went to the studio and eventually got BS fired.
I think the studio knew for a long time. They didn't "fire" him because Malek complained. They did so, to the extent they did so, because they feared bad publicity.

@yep, certainly, but they'll be getting paid a lot less. People are cheaper than machines or CGI. That's why every other damn spaceship or scifi series has characters discussing great moral or philosophical dilemmas in rooms or hallways. The writers don't give a sh!t about that stuff, they're just killing time to save money on special effects.

CGI is no substitute for the real thing but the real thing needs to be there because of talent and entertainment capacity. These interchangeable actors are all starting to look and act the same. Might as well be CGI.
Obv this is supposed to be Rami Malek who DOES have talent and IS entertaining. The role in Bohemian Rhapsody was made for him. Of course he jumped at it regardless of the grudgingly attached Pervert. People only get one chance and this was his chance. No reasonable person could blame him for going for it.

People get one shot in the entertainment industry and this was his shot.

Why wouldn’t he try that? If a criminal or sicko, that happens to be gay, gets called out, they immediately try the homophobia defense. Why wouldn’t they try and cash in on their privileges class status? It’s disgusting, but it works so many times that they must believe it’ll work every time. It certainly is working in the case of Desmond the drag kid.
The next step is to stop funding any aspect of it. Don’t purchase their products, ever. We do have some power, the power to boycott pedophiles and perverts and predators. If everyone stopped supporting them, they’d lose their power. Even if it didn’t work, it’s still the right thing to do.
