Many recovered people have told me drugs kept them alive until they could do it themselves. Really hate this scrutiny stuff when people are really suffering. I feel dirty just commenting on it.

Drugs are a funny thing. You just can't get better until you get the bottom...and no one but you can say where that is until you get there.
@TeeHee - they do go hand in hand....only once the drugs begin, the mental health treatment won't work until the drugs end.
Sometimes it's a question of self-medicating vs addiction. Getting someone clean is worthless without also addressing the issues that kept them using.
And the whole rock bottom thing is pseudoscience. People just have to make the decision for themselves to get clean, they don't need to first lose their kids or suck c*ck for coke.

Somebody needs to say it. He needs to be "Britney'd". If anyone ever needed to be put under a conservatorship, it's him. He needs both mental health and addiction treatment. He's clearly demonstrated that he's a threat to himself and others. I wish that a member of his family was willing to do it.
