harry went to the world cup because england was in the finals and harry is the royal patron to the english rugby team.
william is the royal patron to the rugby team from wales. there was a lot of noise about william AND harry going to japan for the finals because their respective teams would be playing each other. wales did not advance so william did not go.
william and kate chose to go to her parents' home for a few christmasses instead of going to sandringham with the queen. so using the fact that harry and meghan are choosing to spend christmas away from sandringham is not proof positive of a royal rift.
harry and meghan's seated position in the royal box for the remembrance day musical was exactly where they were last year. In fact, almost everyone in the royal box was in the exact same seat as last year. but this year their spot is being used as more proof of a royal rift because william is seated next to his grandmother the queen and harry is in the second row.
look for meghan and the queen to be heavily featured in a buck house exhibit in the spring. it's about royal family members and their pets. i'm eager to see how they twist that into meghan causing a rift in the RF.
